Here you can discuss Stephen Kings works for: The Dark Tower Series Collection: Gunslinger, Drawing of the Three, Waste Lands, Wizard and Glass, Wolves of the Calla, Song of Susannah, the Dark Tower

Dani Landry (danilandry) How about the upcoming Wind Through the Keyhole? *grin*

message 3: by Princessfaz (new)

Princessfaz | 38 comments Is that a new Dark Tower book? I loved most of the Darktower series. :)

message 4: by Dani (new)

Dani Landry (danilandry) It is indeed! I believe it is DT 4.5.

message 5: by Princessfaz (new)

Princessfaz | 38 comments Great!! I just went to amazon and read a description of it, I can't wait. I loved Rolands flashbacks the best. :)

message 6: by Dani (new)

Dani Landry (danilandry) Oh, I HATED Wizard and Glass. Seems like that's the book everyone either LOVED or LOATHED. I was of the former camp, lol. Reading that book was sheer torture and I couldn't wait for it to be over. I am assuming you are talking about that one? The Waste Lands and Wolves of the Calla were my favorites.

So, the ending of the series . . . did you like it or no?

I definitely DID NOT like the ending. I suppose I'm spoiled and like a happy ending. But I'll check into the new book. Thanks Dani

message 8: by Princessfaz (new)

Princessfaz | 38 comments Yes I was talking about Wizard and Glass, the flashbacks are my favorite. LOL. I did not like the ending of the series. :( I like a happy ending too.

message 9: by Dani (new)

Dani Landry (danilandry) I think I fall into the minority. I loved the ending. I don't think that it could have ended any other way for Roland.

message 10: by Katie (new)

Katie Rigney-zimmermann | 2 comments I also liked the ending-- it is like a chance at redemption-- do overs and such. A type of reincarnation?

message 11: by Princessfaz (new)

Princessfaz | 38 comments I guess it could be like redemption but I felt bad for Roland and thought he should get a break. lol

message 12: by Dani (new)

Dani Landry (danilandry) Wasn't that the whole point though Princess? And Katie, SK fans are FREAKS about spoilers. I would mark that post as a spoiler. If someone stumbles across that and it ruins the entire ending of the DT series for them they might hunt you down!

message 13: by Princessfaz (new)

Princessfaz | 38 comments Do you mean his break is that he gets to do it over?

message 14: by Adriana (new)

Adriana (spoiler)

That doesn't look like too much of a break.... But from what we saw at the end, it seemed to me that this time he was going to get it right.

My favorite book of the series was Wolves of The Calla Wolves of the Calla (The Dark Tower, #5) by Stephen King , and I can't wait to get my hands on the graphic novels. :)

message 15: by Princessfaz (new)

Princessfaz | 38 comments I need to get the rest of the graphic novels. I only have Gunslinger. :) I agree, thats not too much of a break, but I hope hope hope he gets it right next time.

I agree Adriana, wolves of the Calla was my favorite as well.

message 17: by Dani (new)

Dani Landry (danilandry) I liked Wolves and The WAste Lands

message 18: by Lee (new)

Lee Burton (lsburton337) I always sorta thought of the Dark Tower series to be about the process of writing itself. Roland progresses towards the ending, but then at the end, all he can do is start over and start again, with that great opening line repeated.

message 19: by Sole (new)

Sole I'm just at the begining of Dark tower 1, The Gunslinger, it's more western novel than fantasy but I enjoy this one. I'm not a fan of S.King but I must say that he has a great narrative voice!
