Michelle Gilmore If anyone is interested in borrowing/ loaning kindle compatible books, please post your requests/ available kindle books here, thanks.

I would be willing to lend my novel AMBASADORA to anyone who wants it. Just DM me.

I also have a free code listed for it in the promotions section if you want it for longer than two weeks.

Carolyn F. I have a "Kindle" bookshelf for anyone that wants to borrow. Just give me your e-mail.

Jacqueline J | 154 comments I have an "available for Kindle loan" bookshelf. Let me know if anyone wants to borrow.

message 5: by Jan (new)

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments I've been wondering. I don't have a Kindle, but I do have Kindle for Mac, and read quite a bit on that. Would that work as well with Kindle lending? It's registered with Amazon...

I don't have a Kindle Jan, but you can upload the software to your laptop which is what I did. I just read them on there.

You can also do this with Nook which is what I did. Sometimes a book will be several dollars cheaper on B&N than on Amazon or vice versa.

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments All-right. That's awesome! Then I'll have to check out what I have that's lendable, and check out your lovely shelves :)

message 8: by Michelle (new)

Michelle Gilmore I had the kindle app for pc old my old laptop that crashed. I forgot all about the books that I have on there. I'll take a look and see if I have anything that's lendable.

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments Cool! So I can borrow Kindle books to read on my iPod. That's pretty cool. The biggest hurdle for me would be the 2 week time limit since I don't always get to read quickly.

AnnaM wrote: "The biggest hurdle for me would be the 2 week time limit"

I hear you! I'm a slow reader, too.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

That makes sense, Pia!

message 12: by AnnaM (new)

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments That does make a lot of sense. I'm sure you're right, Pia!

You don't peek, do you?! That's like my mother-in-law reading the last page to make sure she wants to start the book. ;)

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments My Mom wants to loan me a Kindle book that I think she said is 600 pages long. Um. Two weeks? LOL.

Makes me wonder if she can loan it to me twice.

message 15: by Ann (new)

Ann Roberts (kyreadinggirl) I also have a kindle shelf with several books that I can loan. I haven't updated it for a little while, but you all are welcome to take a look!

message 16: by AnnaM (new)

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments I'd love to look at everyone's Kindle shelves. :-) I just don't know how. LOL.

message 17: by Jan (new)

Jan (janoda) | 226 comments I think they mean they have created a shelf on goodreads that lists the books they have on Kindle.

message 18: by Pauline (new)

Pauline (paulinebairdjones) | 345 comments you can only lend a book once. that's kindle and nook rules. the NY publishers freaked over the whole lending thing, so that's the compromise that was reached. some still won't allow lending, though.

Carolyn F. AnnaM wrote: "I'd love to look at everyone's Kindle shelves. :-) I just don't know how. LOL."

If a person has an open page that's not private, you can look at the books in their bookshelves, see if they have one named Kindle and click that. Mine is not private. And I haven't listed books there that I've borrowed from other Kindle users. You just need to give the e-mail address where you want the book sent. The other group I'm on that lists books to borrow says you have to list them on a thread like this but I'm fine if someone just wants to message me.

message 20: by AnnaM (new)

AnnaM (annamc) | 1111 comments Great, thanks! I'll look them up and see if anyone has one I'd like to borrow as soon as I finish the ARC I'm reading.

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm going to make my Kindle list now. You learn something new everyday!

Thanks, everyone!

message 22: by Mimi (new)

Mimi Does anyone have Ral's Woman (Zorn Warriors, #1) by Laurann Dohner for loan on Kindle?

message 23: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Not me Mary, I've been wanting to read it too but it's pretty up there in price.

message 24: by Canoe (new)

Canoe | 41 comments There is a site out there that facilitates lending of kindle ebooks across the masses.

LENDLE

It's fantastic. I've gotten several reads this way.

message 25: by Celestine (new)

Celestine | 286 comments So I just added a "lendable" bookshelf here on goodreads. Whew did that take awhile. Hopefully it doesn't get out of date too soon. Books can only be loaned once, so if there is anyone interested, contact me.

Celestine | 286 comments I've been lending and borrowing books from http://booklending.com/index.htm for a few weeks now. It is a free service that connects to Amazon. It has been relatively easy to use. Anyone else have experience with this website positive or negative?

I joined it but have never used it. I don't know what's the matter with me. :)

It is incredibly painless. The biggest task is inputting titles of books to lend and borrow. I've borrowed eight books so far and lent over two dozen, but I am not sure about the rhythm of borrowing. When I input all the books I have available to borrow (see my goodreads lendable bookshelf), there were requests for about 200 of those books. Should I lend them all at once or pace myself?

message 29: by Carolyn F. (new)

Carolyn F. Wow that's a lot of requests!

Good to know it works, Celestine! Not all my books are in Kindle, or lendable, but I'm going through and seeing what I can lend out!

message 31: by Celestine (new)

Celestine | 286 comments Lee, hope it works out for you.

message 32: by E.G. (new)

E.G. Manetti (thornraven) | 157 comments I don't have a lot of kindle titles (my ancient iPad's operating system doesn't support the app) but I have a few including Lolita Lopez's Grabbed. I'll definitely check it out.
