Any books that you think we should read can be posted here and I'll add them to the shelf.

Hot Mess Sommelière ~ Caro Untitled

I would like to add "Untitled (Penryn and the End of Days #2)" because it has huge potential of becoming the best book ever. Seriously.

Susan Ee | 23 comments My first reaction was LOL! That's so sweet, Caro!

Then, I clicked on the "Untitled" link.

Um...wow. There really is a book entry for Untitled. Who knew? :)

I'm a huge, huge fan of hidden gems. I'm not recommending it "yet" since until the last page, the verdict is still out. However, I'm LOVING Zero Sight. I'll let you all know soon but other than the absolutely horrible cover, it has me hooked.

Think a dark, gritty Harry Potter.

It has a "potential" romance (actually, the same way Angelfall has a potential romance). I ended up loving the book.

message 7: by AH (new)

AH I can't think of any book like Angelfall. Susan, you need to give your 2nd book a sexy codename that sound better than untitled, lol.

message 8: by Jasmyne (new)

Jasmyne (jassytellsall) | 1 comments If you like this book, I recommend Obsidian by Jennifer A. and Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins

message 9: by Mel (new)

Mel (lemonie) | 75 comments I second Obsidian by Jennifer A - and also Delirium by Lauren Oliver (Dystopian, Urban, Fantasy/ Paranormal romance) absolutely brilliant.
Also Touch by Jus Accardo

message 10: by Engelita (new)

Engelita | 8 comments I suggest Enclave and Outpost by Ann Aguirre as well as Wither and Fever by Lauren DeStefano.

message 11: by Sunnykimmy (new)

Sunnykimmy | 4 comments I loved Sweet Evil by Wendy Higgins. :)

message 12: by Jael (new)

Jael (catsociety) | 1 comments The Forbidden Game by LJ Smith :) Brilliant writing!

message 13: by Teresa (new)

Teresa (koalateabooks) I think more people should read The Demon King (Seven Realms Series) by Cinda Williams Chima. It's a fantasy/adventure/thriller/romance and it's amazing!

Plus, Shadowfell or anything by Juliet Marillier because I'm loving the Sevenwaters series atm!

message 14: by Engelita (new)

Engelita | 8 comments I just read Sweet Evil based off y'all's recommendations and it's awesome. I'm also backing up everyone who recommends the Lux and Covenant series by Jennifer Armentrout, and I'd like to throw out The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin and Under the Never Sky by Veronica Roth

message 15: by Stacia (the 2010 club) (last edited Nov 15, 2012 12:18AM) (new)

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) | 5 comments I just finished an angel book that reminded me a little of Angelfall (of course Angelfall was better because it was somewhat darker, but this one was good too). It's leaning a little more to the pnr side than the sci-fi side, but the romance isn't overly sappy - the balance between action and romance is pretty good. The concept is the offspring of fallen angels are looking to hunt down their evil parents so they can kill them. The book is older YA/New Adult. Not gonna lie, the fact that the main character is named Rafa did sort of throw me for a minute because it's close to Raffe.

Shadows (The Rephaim, #1) by Paula Weston

The name similarity throws me too. Please tell me Raffe and Rafa have distinguishing characteristics.

Joan (official heroine hater) | 2 comments They are very different characters, no similarities really at all.

message 18: by Engelita (new)

Engelita | 8 comments What's it called?

Joan (official heroine hater) | 2 comments Engelita wrote: "What's it called?"

Shadows by Paula Weston. If you click on this Shadows by Paula Weston it will take you to the book's page here on GR.

I second that, definitely agree with Shadowfell or anything by Juliet Marillier! I must check out The Demon King though, hadn't heard of that book!

message 23: by William (new)

William (williamjhoh) Like several people have said, Sweet Evil is a really good book. :)

message 24: by Kyle (new)

Kyle (kyleofbooks) Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor was the most similar to me.

message 25: by Engelita (new)

Engelita | 8 comments I am totally gonna buy that book next!

message 26: by Mel (new)

Mel (lemonie) | 75 comments Just finished reading Shadow by Paula Weston and totally agree with those who recommend it. Similar to Angellfall and book two comes put Oct 2013.

message 27: by Zuzana899 (new)

Zuzana899 | 72 comments I've read Shadow and must say that I didn't like it very much. Was a bit disappointed...

message 28: by Nicky (new)

Nicky | 8 comments Engelita wrote: "I suggest Enclave and Outpost by Ann Aguirre as well as Wither and Fever by Lauren DeStefano."

Yes, perfect! I second Enclave by Ann Aguirre. They both have strong female characters and a kinda creepy suspenseful atmosphere.
Her Grimspace series is awesome too.

message 29: by Ails (new)

Ails (ailsailsbaby) | 217 comments I'd like to add "Sanctum (Guards of the Shadowlands)" by Sarah Fine.

Search it! The heroine is by far the strongest and the bravest among all my favorite female characters. The main male character is also badass, dangerous, and at the same time sympathetic & very protective of the heroine (he reminds me so much of Raffe).

It's the most similar book to Angelfall in my opinion. I've read Shadows and it was a bit disappointing.

message 30: by Olivia (new)

Olivia | 3 comments (these books might not be like Angelfall, but they're dystopian)

Legend and Prodigy by Marie Lu
Shatter Me and Unravel Me by Tahereh Mafi
The Eleventh Plague by Jeff Hirsch
The Selection by Kiera Cass
Divergent by Veronica Roth
Restoring Harmony by Kills Anthony
Angelfall [obviously]
The Witch and Wizard series by James Patterson

message 37: by Nina (new)

Nina (flowerintheprecipice) | 3 comments What to read after Angelfall?

The Immortal Rules (Blood of Eden, #1) by Julie Kagawa Honest to goodness post apocalyptic fiction just like Angelfall is, tons of action, a super strong heroine and vamps.

The other one I really liked that reminded me a ton of Angelfall is What Kills Me by Wynne Channing vamps one more time but the heroine is awesome and the love interest is HOT, HOT, HOT.

message 38: by Sydney (new)

Sydney | 8 comments What's the author to that one?

message 39: by Sydney (new)

Sydney | 8 comments Never mind got the link to the book. Didn't get it at first :)

message 40: by Engelita (new)

Engelita | 8 comments I just finished Sanctum by Sarah Fine and I gotta back up the people who recommended it - it was fantastic!

message 41: by Amy (new)

Amy (amybugg) | 2 comments I definitely recommend Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and the follow-up, Days of Blood and Starlight, by Laini Taylor. The second isn't QUITE as good as the first, but both are fantastic. The first book had me hooked on the story straight away and I'm dying to read the last book of the trilogy now. Another one they're rumouring to make into a movie. It's well written and you can really 'see' the world the author creates around you as you read. The characters are interesting and well developed and the ending of book 2 will haunt me until I can get my hands on book 3 and finish the story. Brilliant. :)

Ails (ailsailsbaby) | 217 comments Engelita wrote: "I just finished Sanctum by Sarah Fine and I gotta back up the people who recommended it - it was fantastic!"

I know, right? I've been recommending it to my fellow Angelfall fans. ;) It's not about angels but it gave me the same feels. Plus, the main characters are almost similar to Penryn & Raffe.

message 43: by Zuzana899 (new)

Zuzana899 | 72 comments please help, I don't know what to read now....

Here are my recommendations for books, they were quite good:
The Assassin's Curse series by Casandra Rose Clarke
Poison Princess by Kresley Cole

message 44: by Caity (new)

Caity | 27 comments Thanks for recommending Sanctum peoples! Picked it up, and loved it!

message 45: by Zuzana899 (new)

Zuzana899 | 72 comments I read an awesome book recently - Written in Red It became one of my most favorite books, I can greatly recommend it

message 46: by Natalie (new)

Natalie | 19 comments Another Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn :) it's refreshingly different and really good (although maybe a little bit confusing, also I recommend to pay attention to, well, every little piece in the story)

message 47: by Ails (last edited Oct 28, 2013 01:52PM) (new)

Ails (ailsailsbaby) | 217 comments Zuzana - I'll reply here! I saw The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater on your bookshelf, have you read the second book yet? It's so much better than the first!

I haven't read it yet. But I wanted. Thanks for reminding me. :) Any other idea?

message 49: by Ails (last edited Oct 28, 2013 02:19PM) (new)

Ails (ailsailsbaby) | 217 comments Zuzana - It depends on your priority. If you want a subtle romance, I recommend The Assasin's Curse (I gave it 3 stars but I must admit I savored the romance so much), The Dream Thieves, and Unspoken. Demons at Deadnight, Sweet Evil, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, and Shadow & Bone have swoon-worthy males, too!

I'm not gonna be surprised if you've already read all the books that I mentioned haha.
