It has been a while since this section has seen any action. Do you have any awesome books you've read lately that you'd like to recommend?

message 3: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments So, so many awesome books! Daughter of Smoke and Bone is worth the read! As is Green Rider.

message 4: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Ok so I am seriously stuck for book ideas, any help? Last book I read was Divergent, and the one before that was Green Rider. Please take pity on a poor, starving bookworm.

message 5: by Amber Dawn (new)

Amber Dawn | 7 comments You should look up the book Finding Sky by Joss Stirling. It's one of my favorites

Did you read the mistborn books by Brandon Sanderson?

message 7: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Yea, read them Renee, well read the first one half way through. Couldn't really get into it

Randomly picked this up again because I was bored the other day, and I've really gotten into it this time!

Becky | 500 comments Just finished it! OH MY GOD! Do the rest of them stay that good?

message 11: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) | 620 comments Mod
The First is the best, but the others are really good too!

message 12: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I've moved onto the second already! Thank god for persistence!

Hèhè good girl ;)

message 14: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I'm going away for just under two months and I can only take a few books with me because I'm staying in a small caravan and I can't decide which of Maria's books to take with me. Help me please?

message 15: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) | 620 comments Mod
Don't you have an ereader? ;)

message 16: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments yeah, but I get lonely without hard copies of at least some of my books

message 17: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments Poison study!! Its one of my most Favourite of MVS's books!! Its literally what got me into reading!!! And Shadow study? It was also so good!!!! And how about Fire study? That one was so absolutely spectacular!!! And the Touch of Power!!! <3333 Kerrick!!!
Actually you know what? If you ask me, I'll just tell you to take them all XD Sorry i cant be of any help!!

message 18: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I re-read all of Avery's books last week (I was supposed to be writing an essay but who cares) and I'd forgotten how many feels those three books have!! And how sassy and badass Avery can be.

But you're right that doesn't help me

message 19: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) | 620 comments Mod
Hmmm so take all of them with you on your ereader. And take your signed books with you for comfort ;)

message 20: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Oh I'll be taking my kindle with me, don't worry about that! But that's a good idea Renee! Plus my signed copies are smaller than my reading copies!

Now to decide what other books I'll take which aren't on my kindle?

message 21: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) | 620 comments Mod
Where are you going, Becky?

message 22: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments What books do you not have on your kindle?

message 23: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I'm doing a secondment at Clandon Park, a historic house that burnt down. I'm helping out with the salvage operation. I'll be 4 and a half hours away from my personal library!!

Books I don't have on my kindle:
Brandon Sanderson books
Kristen Britain books
Trudi Canavan books (excluding magician's guild)
Alison Croggan books
Garth Nix books
David Eddings books
Jim Butcher books
Lani Taylor books
Karen Miller books
Fiona McIntosh books
Juliet Marillier books
Sarah J. Maas books
Lisa Mantchev books
Joanne Harris books
Terry Goodkind books
Bitterblue by Kristin Cashore (I have her others on kindle)
Meg Cabot books (her mediator and missing series)
The Looking Glass Wars

message 24: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments If i were you, id take Sarah J Mass's books!! The Throne of glass series was really good!!

message 25: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I read the first two but I'm only half way through the third

message 26: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments I think the fourth one is the best if them... Tell me when you finish it!!

message 27: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I dunno, I couldn't get past the half way mark of book 3. I kind of got disillusioned with Celeana by that point

message 28: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments Is the third ine the one where Rowan enters the scene?

message 29: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Yep. I got to the part where his tattoos are sort of explained but didn't get any further.

I just don't connect to Celeana anymore. I definetly prefer Yelena or Avry as a character

message 30: by Renée (new)

Renée (maagtablet) | 620 comments Mod
Yes thank you! The more I read of Throne of Glass, the less I like Celeana...
It turns more and more in a romance instead of ya fantasy.... Everyone has a 'partner'...
And noone just loves... Everyone keeps questioning everyone....
The only one who truely 'loved' was Sam...

Does that make any sense? XD

I vote for Brandon Sanderson!

And cool what youre doing! Eventhough it takes you away from your books ;)

message 31: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments I guess i liked the action in it...
And Brandon Sandersons books are awesome!!
Also, bon voyage!!! Have a nice and SAFE trip!! And enjoy!!

message 32: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I did like the action in the first book, but love triangles just do my head in! If Chaol and Dorian had just been her friends I would have liked it even more than I did.

So Brandon Sanderson it is, and Maria V Snyder of course! And I think I've decided to take my Alison Croggon books as well.

message 33: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments Well then youll have a pretty adventurous trip!! Are you taking any books that you havnt yet read?

message 34: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments No, cos I don't own any....

message 35: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments Ok so my final selection looks like......

Alison Croggon (the complete series)
Trudi Canavan (her two newest books)
Heir of Fire - Sarah J Maas
Green Rider & First Rider's Call - Kirstin Britain
Princep's Fury - Jim Butcher
Lani Taylor (the complete series)
Kindle - with all Maria V. Snyders books!!!

Think that will be enough for two months?

message 36: by Ileana (new)

Ileana (theultimateairshippirate) | 282 comments Sounds good!! As long as you'll survive!!! And tbh, if you have all of MVS's books, youll live happily ever after!!

message 37: by Becky (new)

Becky | 500 comments I hope I'll survive. I hope my books will survive being abandoned by me! And I've added two more books which I had forgotten about: Clariel by Garth Nix and The Way of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. Can't believe I almost forgot them!
