Nora Roberts Groupies discussion

A few of Nora's heroes have left/dumped the heroine (broken hearted), only to return years later. As crazy as it sounds, I tend to like these heroes a lot. There are usually circumstances and/or good reasons for their leaving. So who are your favorite heroes who returned?

There's:
1) Luke Callahan from Honest Illusions
2) Matthew Lassiter from The Reef
3) Sam Logan from Face the Fire
4) Jordan Hawke from key of Knowledge
5) Cooper Sullivan from Black Hills
Let me know if I've missed any.

I think my favorite would be Luke from Honest Illusions with a very close second to Matt Lassiter.

Nope. You've covered them all, as far as I am concerned - at least these I remember at the moment. My list is the same with the exception of Cooper (haven't read Black Hills yet) and Sam Logan being at second place.

Matthew Lassiter is my favorite of this group, I tend to like these heroes and the premise too!

Jordan, Luke and Coop r my favs of this category of hero's. I love love love Jordan

My fav was definitely Luke from Honest Illusions. I loved this book a lot and rooted for him the whole book.

I have to admit I read Honest Illusions because I saw Luke as number 1 in Tayla's list of Favorite Hero Who Returned and I got curios 'cause I haven't read it. So I did. And it was amazing I really enjoyed it, as I do wiht all Nora Robert's books. It was thrilling and in some parts I didn't see it coming. So thank you for activate my curiosity!

I also would like to add another name to the list of Favorite Hero Who Returned: Jacob Graystone from Birthright,the handsome archeologist who came to woo Callie and help her with her confict.
But now I met Luke I definitly crowned him as number 1 and Coop from Black Hills number 2.

I guess my next step will be: read The Reef

Thanks for the tip on Birthright. I haven't read that one yet but I'm working my way through Nora's mass market titles and I'm currently on Three Fates, so Birthright's coming up.

Birthright is one of my favorite Nora Roberts novels-- probably a lot to do with loving archaeology/cultural anthropology and loved Jacob! Cooper from Black Hills also gets a big vote!

I love the guy from the In The Garden Trilogy (can't recall his name) . The one who ended up marrying Margot . Loved the part where they were at their new house and he asked her to marry him, picked her up and twirled her around and around in his arms...sigh

It's Matthew Lassiter for me! The Reef was a really enjoyable book and his character was great!
As Vicki has already mentioned, Jacob's character was also really good in Birthright.

Birthright and Black Hills are amazing books; if you enjoyed them, you really should read Honest Illusions and The Reef. This last one is also about archaeology and treasure hunting.
It's all in the theme "Hero who returned" besides Luke and Matthew will not disappoint you!

I guess you forgot to mention Brady Tucker from Unfinished Business! Hahah well, my favorite is Cooper Sullivan from Blackhills. He is sooooooo hot and gorgeous! Hahah!

I really like it when the hero is a returnee. It usually adds a real hostile plot element to the story. Also, the H/h have a history and tend to end up in bed sooner.
