The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind discussion

I was really entertained by William view in addressing difficulty. When his elder sister who became the pride and hope of the family left home with her boy friend in so bad family condition that every mouth only got seven small mouthfuls of cornmeal, William said, at least there was one additional of small mouthful for every mouth in the family. That is extremely positive mind.

Yes, William doesn't give up. He's an inspiration for a lot of people.

The part where William went to the library and read the book that was in English about windmills but somehow figured out how to do it, that was an inspiration to me because you have folks that holler "well, I can't do this or that" how do we know if we NEVER tried? this young boy just went through a famine; he saw an opportunity to better his as well as those around him and to me that turned on the lights for me. I was so inspired that I told William's story at our Children's Story time and it went over big with the young as well as the old.

I had the honor of meeting William when he spoke at Howard Community College in Maryland where I work. He has the same down to earth lighthearted and humorous personality that strings the story together. He is an amazing individual and remains humble, a true inspiration for us all.

I enjoyed the entire story. William is quite inspiring. Such an uplifting feel good story. No doubt William has a very bright future. No complaining from me the next time I experience a power outage

I like the thought that William created a windmill in a location where knowledge of science doesn't exist. Most of the people that reside in Malawi believe in magic and God. William's father teaches him that with God on his side, magic has no power over him. The mindset of the Malawi people isn't that William is doing an act against their beliefs however. Instead, during the process with William building his windmill, the Malawi people's mindset are in survival. They have to find work so they can have food and shelter.
