I watched it last night (had to get through Boardwalk Empire and Breaking Bad first). I agree it has a lot of potential. I like the fact they kept the future tech in check and didn't go the typical route of giving people lasers, robots, artificial intelligence, etc. I'm not sure how I feel about the "Sixers" plotline. Personally I thought that would have been more interesting if the split occurred over the course of the season.
The biggest concerns about the Sixers, who sent them and why, hasn't been revealed and I think that's the important part of the storyline. I could do without a lot useless build-up.
I watched the first hour. I think it has potential but so far I was underwhelmed. I was actually more impressed by the futuristic city even though I turned it on for dinosaurs. I think everything happened a bit too quickly. And the world of Terra Nova was a little too easy and perfect. Although I guess I missed something by leaving early.
I think it's definitely, as you all said, got potential. The visual effects were reasonably impressive, the writing was not too bad and the plot definitely can develop. If the plot does develop and grow the show will definitely become very good I think.
personally, i hated the writing. i groaned and sighed so many times. but there are some intriguing potential developments that will keep me watching for at least a little while longer. and the fx were awesome.
Oh there were times where I went 'the writing's a little predictable' but it wasn't the worst I've seen.
i'll agree with that. there's far worse out there - like many scifi network programs & movies.
still, monday was probably my last episode of the show. my eyes started to hurt from all the rolling!

I dropped it quick. I'd probably not have posted but mark was also disenchanted with it. I won't go on about it as many like it...but I dislike it. Same old, same old.
Not the most ground-breaking show. Its no Dr Who but I find it okay. And its not like there's anything else to watch on my limited Aussie tv.
I'm still watching it but I think they need to take a hard look at the opening segments. The beginning of every episode is starting to turn into Star Trek with the "red shirt" security guy of the week getting killed off in the first 30 seconds.
I hadn't thought about that but it makes sense. But then it happens in a lot of sci-fi. Who wants to be a security guy in a sci fi you'll inevitably end up dead.
I've been watching and reviewing it for the entertainment GeekTyrant. Its feeling a lot like 'Falling Skies' in its levels of cheese. However, I will stick with it til the end of its 13 episode run.
I gave up on it after 3 episodes for 3 reasons: ridiculous plot line, one dimensional characters, no Tyrannosaurus Rex.
All sci-fi really now have ridiculous plot lines. The thing is most of these plot lines get established and people think they're not so ridiculous. I mean think about all the 'science' that's now in sci-fi. It's made up. I'm sticking with the show because often shows will become better after a first series. If it doesn't: farewell Terra Nova.

The opening scene was intense, I was sitting there with one hand on my heart, the other covering the big O that was my mouth. It's pretty hard to get me to feel emotional about characters in a situation I am brand new to. For that alone, it deserves to stay on my DVR.
I hope it lives up to it's potential.
Anyone else watch it?
