October & November Reads!
The fantasy book City of Bones by Cassandra Clare is a quick, elementary read that combines the elements of danger, suspense, and romance that are so often attractive to many readers. The story revolves around the awakening of protagonist Clarissa Fray, a fifteen year old who learns, after her mother's kidnapping, that she might not be as normal as she thought herself to be. Before this event, Clarissa spent her days in Park Slope Brooklyn, drinking coffee with her devoted (and love sick) best friend Simon, drawing in her sketchbook, and being grounded by an overprotective mother and her sympathetic companion, Luke. However, when she meets Jace Wayland, a Shadowhunter--a person whose job it is to slay demons--she is forced to confront that her whole life has been a lie and that she, too, has ties to this mystical world.
I'm still trying to decide my thoughts on this book. In some ways, it reminded me way too much of Twilight in that the story revolved around a heroine who doesn't realize her own beauty is torn between her feelings for a handsome and dangerous Shadowhunter and her reliable, loyal human best friend. However, one aspect of the book that I respected was it's historical allusions and its modern day relevancy. Existing in their fantastical world is not easy, fo prejudice is abound. In fact, the antagonist, Valentine's, primary goal is to destroy all those in the shadow world with "impure" blood. In many ways, this book could be paired with Hitler's eugenics and creating the master race, a study of modern science's desire to create a more perfect child, or even the history of social class. A suggestion to Ms. Clare would be that she should have spent more time on revealing injustices rather than studying the amber flecks in Jace's eyes! Also, incest--although I suspect that it's a misconception--also is a bit of a turn-off. If you are a person that likes to consider history's impact on a story while still enjoying the typical teenage romance, this book will be a page turner!

A couple days ago I finsihed the book; Models Don't Eat Chocolate Cookies. This book was about a girl who's "husky." Her aunt enters her in a contest for a store that sells clothes for overweight people. This contest has many steps where she competes against other chubby girls to become the new face of "Husky Peach" (the clothing line.) The main character and protagonist, 13 year old Celeste, doesn't want to do the modeling contest. She wants to be skinny. But everyone around her forces her into it, including her aunt (who is the antagonist as well.) The overall setting of this story isn't really clear, besides obvious places like her house and the place where the contests happen. I love this book, because by the end of the story Celeste has powered through the contest, and even gotten a little thinner on the way there! I made a personal connection to the text because sometimes I don't feel like I'm good enough, but in the end everyone is perfect the way they are. I would recommend this book to anyone who's not afraid to smile and learn from the theme of the story! The theme is very happy and positive, and it's a great thing to learn from.
A fiction book that i just finished today is "The Lying Game" by Sara Shepard. The protagonist of this book is Emma Becker because she is the character that the book follows. The antagonist i would have to say is basically EVERYBODY according to what Emma has found out. The setting of this book is in Phoenix, Arizona. The conflict of this book is Emma trying to solve the murder of her long lost twin sister. This book started out with a girl named Emma Becker who saw a video of a girl named Sutton Mercer who looked exactly like her. She then sent Sutton a message saying that she looked exactly like her and that she was wondering if she was adopted as well. Then they had plans to meet up but Sutton didn't show up and instead Emma was kidnapped by Sutton's friends and had to pose as Sutton starting from then. Now Emma has to try and figure out what happened to Sutton and now it's more dangerous then ever especially with Sutton's killer watching her every move.I really liked this book because not only was it emotional but also intense. Not only that but because it starts out with a girl wanting to learn more about her family especially when she finds out that she was a twin. I guess a personal connection that i could make to Emma is that fact that when Emma feels like she is being watched all the time. For instance when I walk down the street i have this weird feeling that I'm being watched or the fact that there's a stalker following my every steps but it turns out that i was just freaking out. I guess i would recommend this book to anybody who loves mystery and suspense because that's basically what this book is about. I guess this book compares to the other books that Sara Shepard has written is the fact that all of the book i have have read by her has mystery, suspense, and a total cliff hanger. Not only that but all of the books includes something that you would never EVER think of happening next.
The realistic fiction book Lord of the Flies by William Golding was not as enjoyable as you might think. At first, the story is about a bunch of boys marooned on an island, without parental supervision. In the early stages of the book, the boys celebrate their freedom from adults, but later in the book, their savage nature overwhelms their common sense and the strong begin to rule the weak.I did not like this book because it is a seriously confusing story line with intricate details that if you miss, you will ruin the meaning of the story. I read the ending of this book at least three times to fully understand it. I have read books like this before, like Hatchet by Gary Paulsen which was also about a boy who was marooned in the wilderness, but his better nature came to light. Lord of the Flies is a book that must be read by boys once, but you would probably not wish to visit their island again.
I have finished the realistic fiction book My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. The protagonist is a girl named Anna Fitzgerald, who suffers to find her comfortable position in life because of her older sister named Kate Fitzgerald, who is diagnosed with leukemia. Anna was produced by a scientist who made sure that Anna had the same exact blood type as Kate so that Anna could donate organs to Kate when she needs them, due to her leukemia. Growing up practically in the hospital, Anna is thirteen years old and realizes that the only reason she was born was to be a donor for Kate, not to be a part of the Fitzgerald family. She decides to do a trial in Court to stand up for the rights of her body. Anna doesn’t want her sister to die (they are, in fact, very close), but she wants to make her own decisions for a change. However, Kate is not the antagonist. Anna herself is. This is because Anna has to make the right decision of rather doing the trial for her own body rights and letting her sister die, or donating the organ and not getting what she wants. Her mother told her that if Anna donated one last kidney to Kate, she would no longer ask for anything else. Anna refused this offer because that is not all she wants. All she wants is for someone to love her for real, not just for her body.
I loved this book because it really made me appreciate what I have. It made me realize that being loved is the most important thing in life, although it causes trouble. It makes me wonder why people want love (family love, boyfriend-girlfriend love, husband and wife love, etc.) although it causes the most pain but also the most happiness. (My own question: What was the moral of the story?) The moral of the story was no pain, no gain. I love this saying because it makes you realize that you have to experience pain or else you don’t learn anything or get what you’d like. An example from the text would be the ending when something (I won’t give it away!) happened to Anna which negatively affected her family greatly, but helped them as well.

The realistic fiction book Snail Mail No More by Paula Danziger is about two friends Tara and Elizabeth, Tara moved away , so she had to leave her best friend Elizabeth behind, so to keep there friendship they write each other everyday about what is going on in their life's. The protagonist is Elizabeth and Tara. There is no antagonist. The setting is mostly home, school, and around there neighborhood. The primary conflict is that they have separate life's now, and there friendship is changing because they cannot spend time with each other, because of there distance relationship. Also they have different friends now because they live in different places, which gets both of them jealous because they can't spend time with each other they just spend time with there new friends.I liked this book because it was really interesting how the whole book was there emails written to each other, it wasn't written like a real book. This book is different than other realistic fiction books because there is two main characters, and it is written in them writing emails to each other, not in like 3rd or 1st person
Who Was Ben Franklin by Dennis Brindell Fradkin is a historical biography of a founding father of the United States of America. Most students know that Ben Franklin was one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Some students might know that Franklin did an experiment with a kite in a thunderstorm to capture electricity. But the author Dennis Fradkin tells so much more in this nine chapter book.Benjamin Franklin was a very brilliant man. For example, he used his love of science to be an inventor. He made an early electric battery and created the terms electric battery, electric shock and conductor. He discovered that ocean currents, which can be created by different water temperatures, could slow down or speed up ships. Benjamin Franklin did cool experiments like the one with different colored cloths that he put on the surface of snow in the sun. The black piece of cloth sank. It sank because it absorbed the most energy from the sun. The energy was heat and the heat melted the snow so the black square sank. Benjamin Franklin gave advice that people should wear light colored clothes to say cool in warm weather and people still listen to this advice. Today, we still use a lot of the knowledge that Ben Franklin discovered. These are only a few of the discoveries and experiments in Who Was Ben Franklin.
Benjamin Franklin loved learning and teaching about what he learned. He learned that Philadelphia (where he lived) needed a hospital and a college. He helped to form the Philadelphia Academy which became the University of Pennsylvania. He wrote books of knowledge called Poor Richard’s Almanac. But he got tired of just writing about events, so he entered politics in 1736. He didn’t win until 1751. He won a seat in the Philadelphia Assembly.
Dennis Brindell Fradkin also writes about Ben Franklin and America and our relationship with England. At first, Ben Franklin helped to form troops to help England to win over France for control of North America. Ben’s son William even became an English governor of New Jersey. England won the war over the French but the English needed money to pay for the cost of the war. The English tried to put a lot of taxes on Americans. America began to protest all the English taxes. Ben Franklin was in England representing the settlers for part of this and didn’t realize how mad Americans were. Finally, he understood and was loyal to the Americans. It is very interesting to read about the Boston Tea Party because today there is a group of people who call themselves the Tea Party. In the Ben Franklin Tea Party, patriots disguised as Indians went on British ships and dumped British tea into Boston Harbor to protest the high English taxes. Today, the Tea Party says it is against taxes.
Although Who Was Ben Franklin isn’t too long, it has a lot of excellent information in it. Every reader should enjoy learning about this interesting man and his life. If you like science or if you like history, you will love Who Was Ben Franklin.
A book I have just read that was called "Blood Challenge" was a really cool book because it seemed like everything she was doing was coming to life. I like fantasy and action books because it makes you want to read more and not put the book down. This is like one of the books that you cannot put it down cause its so addicting. The book is about wolves protecting Lily and there are these elves that are making the wolves look very bad by killing people. If you read it you will enjoy it.
In my independent reading book, Rafa, Rafael Nadal is the protagonist. The antagonist in the book are his opponents when he plays his tennis matches. Conflicts that Rafael Nadal has in when he plays his opponents in tennis matches. Rafael Nadal is a skilled tennis player.I like this book because it talked about what Rafael Nadal faces during his life, and talks about keys to winning his tennis games. I would recommend this book to anyone that wants to read about a successful and skilled athlete. I liked this book a lot.
The book i have finished is the "Outsiders" by S.E Hinton. So Ponyboy and his best friend Johnny are greasers. There is a gang called the Soc's and they Hate the Greasers. So one night a member from the Soc's was about to kill Johnny until Johnny pulled out a knife and stabbed the Soc. Now the Soc's are after Ponyboy and Johnny. So they both run away and camp out in an abandoned church. One day Ponyboy and Johnny go and get breakfast and while they are gone a school goes to the abandoned church and it catches unfire. Ponyboy and Johnny are right in time. so they both work together to save the kids. and they eventually succeed. if i tell any more the book would be ruined. This was a really good book and it has a great ending but it is also very sad. this is one of my favorite books because of how good and well written the story is. I can not really relate this book to myself. i would recommend this book to anybody who likes books that don't have as much action but have a really good story.this is one of my favorIte books and it is so great.
A few days ago I finished a book called "evermore" by Alyson Noel. The genre of this book includes fantasy and a little bit of romance. This girl, Ever, can see auras and hear other people's thoughts after a strange car accident. Each color aura means a different mood. Green means peaceful and loyal. Gray means depression and sadness. Before the accident happened, she was a beautiful popular girl who most people looked up to. When she meets this boy, Damon, she realizes that he is the only person that she can't read into. He to can read other people's mind, including hers. This was a great book because I liked how the ending kind of twists so you wouldn't know what what coming up next. In the beginning, Ever hid herself so she wouldn't have to interact with anybody. She was afraid to know everyone's past life. She wore hoodies and blasts goth music that she didn't like. This helped create the image that she was just another weirdo which was actually what Ever wanted. In the end, she was braver and she learned how to open up. This book reminded me of the book Twilight (like Ms. Flagg's book) too. At first, Ever thought Damon was a vampire, but he was just an immortal. Ever then finds out that she was one too so that was also another twist. I would recommend this book to basically everyone because this book is a amazing book to read.
Hey all! Many of your reviews look great! Remember to follow the criteria for filling them out--they need to be a MINIMUM of two paragraphs long and answer the appropriate amount of questions.
I just finished reading "The Catcher In The Rye" By J.D Salinger. This classic drama follows the life of a teenage boy named Holden Caufield. Holden is a 17 year old kid, who is caring, loving, and very unseflish. Though at this point in Holden's life, things are not going so well. Ever since the death of his 10 year old younger brother Allie, Holden hasn't been able to focus in school, he smokes frequently, and has felt very lonely. Holden has just flunked out of his high school Pencey Prep. and Holden is really frightened about how his parents are going to react. So he decides to wait until the day of Christmas vacation for his school, so he'd have an excuse for coming home. So the whole book follows each day Holden spends away from home, and out of school. Knowing what a classic this was, I thought it would become my new favorite book. Though after the book, I realized that my favorite book remained Sherman Alexie's "The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian." In a way, both books are similar. Both protagonists for each of the books were very memorable, and both of them were going through a very rough time. And although "The Absolutely True Diary Of A Part Time Indian" remains my favorite, this was still a magnificent story. It was incredibly heartwarming, and heartbreaking. It really was a tear jerker. And Holden Caufield just might be my favorite character in any book I've read. I don't think I've ever cared more for a fictionalized human being.
I just finished the book "The Lost Hero's" by Rick Riordan. The story is fiction. The main character in this story is Jason. Jason is a 14 year-old demigod. In the beginning of the story Jason woke up in a bus heading to the Grand Canyon. When he woke up, he didn't knew who he was or where was he. He had lost his memories. Beside him is Piper, who claims to be his girlfriend, and Leo which is Jason best friend. Later, on the three teenagers goes on a quest. A quest to save a god. They only have two days till their quest ends. If they failed their quest the whole world will be in trouble.I liked this book, because he had so much suspense in the story. Their was so many problems in the story. Once, all three of them have finished a problem and a new one pops up. It's like playing a puzzle game. If you complete a level, a new level will begin. I recommend this book to everybody. This book is amazing. Sure, the book is extremely long, but it's worth it. Once you read the first five pages, you won't be able to put the book down. I have no advice or questions to the author.
I finished a book called Notes from the Midnight Driver. This book is about a kid named Alex who gets in some trouble and is sentenced by a judge to help out an obnoxious old man in a nursing home. At first, Alex is upset with his sentence but overtime he comes to like and learn from the old man. The genre of this story is realistic fiction. The protagonist is probably Alex's best friend, Laurie. Laurie is always really positive and helps Alex through his punishment. I would say the antagonist of the story is probably Alex's parents. They are divorced, and they are the one that drive Alex to get in trouble because he's so upset that he drunk drives, in a way. The main conflict is basically that Alex has to help out an old man that constantly insults him, but over time they come to know and like each other. The setting of the story isn't clear. The places that the author actually tells you about are like the nursing home and Alex's home. They never actually tell you the state or city the story takes place in.Honestly, this book wasn't great. It was okay, but it wasn't amazing, or even that good. The characters and setting were both poorly developed. The setting was never actually described in detail. This book is way worse than the book Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie, also by Jordan Sonnebleck. The book Drums, Girls & Dangerous Pie is an amazing, humorus, emotional book. I love that book! It really left me speechless at the end. After reading that book, I really thought another book by the same author would be just as incredible, but unfortunately it wasn't.
I just finished a book named Go Ask Alice by an Anonymous author. It was a true true story right out a girls diary. It started off a with a very self-conscious attitude being afraid to talk to anyone and by the time school was out she considered herself to be the biggest loser ever. Then during the summer she went to go live at her grandmother and grandfathers house. While she was there she made a friend name Jill who invited her to a party and gave her a coke laced with a drug called LSD. From then on she got hooked until she was addicted to every drug you can think of. She brings herself into a life of misery. I really loved this book because it was exciting and depressing. I can make connections to this book because she can make foolish mistakes and so can I. I would refer this book to anyone that likes sad and depressing but still interesting books. I would advise the author that I wish she had given me her name but that is more the publishers fault. I haven't read any other books by this author. I can connect this book to The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton because they are both very sad and exciting. The best thing about the book in my opinion is the conflict. I think that because she really faces a lot of tough times.
The book that I finished reading was "Someone Like You," by Sarah Dessen. It is about a girl, Halley, who usually follows her friend, Scarlett's lead. Ever since the summer, Scarlett had relied on Halley's lead. Scarlett found out that she was pregnant and a day later, the dad died in a accident. Halley wants to help, but she is facing some difficult times too. She wants to release herself from her controlling mother. She also is having a secret relationship with a boy named Macon Faulkner who actually doesn't really care about Halley. I think this book is a typically romance book. First the main character deals with a problem, but then more problems keep appearing. In the beginning of the book, Halley is a shy girl, but in the end, she learns to stick up for herself and say "no". This book is really interesting, but I wished it would have a unexpected turn to it so it would be more interesting.
I have just recently finished the realistic fiction book Where the Heart Is by Billie Letts. The protagonist, Novalee Nation, is a pregnant seventeen year old homeless girl who has a difficult time taking care of her new born daughter, Americus Nation. The antagonist in the book, Willy Jack, is Novalee’s ex-boyfriend. Willy Jack is also the father of Americus. He is the antagonist because in the very beginning of the book, Novalee and Jack were running away together until he ditched her at a Walmart where Novalee lived for the past two months and also the place where she gave birth to her baby! Since Willy Jack left her, she has no where to go, due to the fact that she doesn’t have any mode of transportation. This book is mostly told from the point of view of Novalee, making it more helpful to understand how she feels about certain situations (such as Willy Jack ditching her) and how she reacts to them.
As I said before on the “What’s 815 Reading?” board, I can relate Novalee Nation to a girl named Jenna on a show called Degrassi. Although they both have a tough time dealing with labor and school and just the baby in general, they both know that they will make it through, no matter what people think of them. I really liked this book because it encourages me to become a strong woman like Novalee, who never winces at a punch in the face. Novalee is a strong girl inside and she is the most forgiving person I have ever encountered in a piece of literature before!

I have finished the fiction book "Never have I Ever" by Sara Shepard on October 11th but forgot to post it(sorry). The protagonist is Emma Becker because this book follows her journey to finding out what really happened to her twin sister, Sutton Mercer. The antagonist i would say can be just about anybody because Emma doesn't know who killed Sutton but every new clue she finds it turns out to be someone new. The setting is set in Phoenix. The Conflict in this book is Emma trying to figure out who murdered her sister and people keep on hiding secrets and telling lies.I liked this book very much because it had so much mystery and conflict in it. Another reason why i liked this book so much was because i don't usually like reading books like this because they often leave a terrible and unexpected ending. Especially with this author, Sara Shepard, i saw that this author wrote this new series and i already liked her other series so i though "why not?!". I guess i would recommend this book to reader's who already have read Sara Shepard books and those who love cliff hangers. I guess one question i would ask the author is "Where do you come up with these plots and outcomes that never even cross my mind?"
I read "The Lying Game" by Sara Shepard. I really enjoyed the book because it was a mystery about twins getting separated at birth and how different their lives are but theres a twist! Sutton Mercer has an amazing life in Phoenix, Arizona, she's popular, wealthy, pretty, she has two parents that care of her and love her and a younger sister, Laurel. Emma Paxton has been in the foster care system since she was five years old. Her biologic mother, Becky never came to pick her up at a sleepover the next morning. Emma has been in foster care for most of her life. When Emma was living in Las Vegas, Nevada she had a purvey foster brother, Travis and a star obsessed foster mom, Clarice. When Emma refused to have sex with Travis, Travis took Clarice's money and put it in Emma's bad to set Emma up for stealing. Also, Travis found a video online about this girl that looked exactly like Emma but it was actually her identical twin sister Sutton Mercer who was doing a prank with her friends. Emma tried to tell Clarice it wasn't her but Clarice didn't believe her. Emma had to leave in 2 weeks. Emma went on Facebook and found her long lost twin sister Sutton Mercer. Sutton told Emma to come to Arizona. Emma went to Phenix, Arizona the next morning and realized that her twin sister is dead and she has to pretend to be Sutton Mercer.
I really enjoyed this book because all the details and the conflict that Emma goes through with herself is so interesting. When Emma found the letter saying that Sutton was dead freaked Emma out because she knows nothing about Sutton and that she never got to meet her twin sister. I would recommend this to a person that likes a book with drama and have a mysterious twist. I think this because there is a lot of questioning drama that Emma deals with in her daily life as Sutton Mercer.
Book Review: The Most Beautiful Place In The World, by Ann CameronIn The Most Beautiful Place In The World, by Ann Cameron, a boy named Juan has a challenging family life. When he was born, his father was a caretaker of a beautiful property. But soon after Juan was born, his dad ran away to the nearby City. The landowners hired a new caretaker, so his mother had to leave the beautiful property and move in with her own mother. Juan’s grandmother had a small house with only four rooms, but at least ten grown up relatives lived there with many children. Soon after Juan and his mother moved, the mom remarried, but didn’t take Juan with her! Most of this book is about his life, up to the age of seven, with his grandmother.
Juan’s life is hard. His grandmother does not have electricity or heat. The family is very poor and hardworking. His grandmother is strict. If someone isn’t home by 8:30pm, they are locked out for the night. His mom has another child, but Juan isn’t allowed to live with his half-brother.
But Juan’s grandmother is also loving and a good caretaker. She grows lots of flowers outside of her house, so the place looks nice. She helps all her relatives if they are sick or in trouble. She shows Juan how to earn money shining shoes. He is proud of his work. Juan begs his grandmother to go to school and he meets a new teacher. She helps him.
The Most Beautiful Place In The World is an important realistic fiction book that shows us what happens in one boy’s life in the town of San Pablo, near Guatemala. I think if you read this book, it would tell you interesting facts about this beautiful place in Central America, and about being poor and trying hard. This book shows how beautiful and difficult life can be in Guatemala.
I recommended this book for middle school students. The author writes so that the reader can almost see the tropical flowers and birds. It is a little like traveling to see the volcanoes and coffee berries. But some of what Juan says seems strange. We grow up with the idea that going to school is something that everybody does. Juan has to struggle to get to go to school. Many kids in San Pablo don’t go to school because their parents need them to work, especially in the onion fields. Juan struggles on his own to learn to read. Then he struggles to be able to go to school. First he has to convince his grandmother. Then he has to convince the principal that he can handle the work. This book helps the reader to appreciate education and work harder.
I recently finished the book Maus by Art Spiegelman. It is a non-fiction graphic novel about Art's father, Vladek and his struggles during World War II. In the book, all of the jewish people are drawn as mice, all germans as cats and all polish people as pigs. Vladek is the protagonist and all of the german soldiers are the antagonists. The setting changes throughout the book from Rego Park New York in the 1980's and Eastern Europe in the late !930's and early 1940's. Vladek is drafted in 1939 and trains for two days before being put in the field. He gets captured and held as a prisoner of war on his first day. He is held by the german soldiers until his friend helps him escape. That's all I'll tell you for now. I don't want to spoil it. I really loved the book. Art Spieglman really knows how to keep a reader interested. I can't say I exactly relate to it. There are many conflicts in the book and I love how he keeps them all connected in a very cool way. I would recommend it to anyone.
Yesterday I finished the book "English Fairy Tales", obviously it is a collection of English Fairy Tales and the genre is also obviously Fantasy. The protagonists in the book are the characters in the story that is trying to do a good deeds. The antagonists are the monsters/creatures, characters that are sly, sneaky, or villainous. The conflicts usually are the characters doing tasks they have to do to get what they want or do what people/creature/monster request them to do. The settings most of the time are in a town, the woods, a giants house or a castle.
I really liked these book because the stories to me are amusing to read. It is very interesting and different to read fairy tales that are not American and read some British Tales. Even to compare some of the British Tales from the American Tales. I would recommend these to anybody who like fantasy and if they are interested in reading Fairy Tales. The main aspect is the conflict because the they are unusual but very interesting to read what the character has to go through. Even the different situations they go through, it is interesting how they go through with it like what they have to.
I'm glad my friend from England mailed these book even though it was for my brother it was enjoyable to read.

I have just finished rereading the fantasy book called The Taking by Dean Koontz. The protagonist is named Molly Sloan. She has a husband named Neil Sloan and they make a very good married couple because they can almost coincidentally read each other’s minds. It’s very cute, and it makes them a stronger couple in a way. Anyways, the book was about Molly and Neil being the only people adults alive on the planet. It started when it rained one day. It was normal for rain to arrive, of course. However, this rain didn’t stop at all. It just kept coming and coming. Also, this rain was strange. It killed everyone in the town somehow except for Molly and Neil. They gingerly walked around in their small California town, with no connection to the outside world. Sooner or later, they came upon a couple of terrified group of kids, claiming that their parents were murdered by a horrendous beast that has caused the world to suddenly disappear. It is now Molly, Neil, and the kids’ jobs to help defeat this creature and bring the world back to life, somehow. The fact that Molly and Neil have a special connection with each other helps Molly or Neil know if one is in danger, which helps tremendously throughout the book.
I love this book; it is amazing. I first read it during late summer nights and I got so scared! This, obviously, is a scary fantasy novel. It has horrific scenes that keep you wide awake at night, which I favor. I can compare this book to a movie called I Am Legend featuring Will Smith because Molly, Neil, and the kids are the only people left living and they are going against a dangerous fictitious creature.

I read “Twisted” by Sara Shepard. It is the ninth book in the Pretty Little Liar series. It’s been a year since the fire when Alison tried to kill Aria, Hanna, Spencer, and Emily. Everyone thought Alison was dead. But, until Spring Break when all the girls went to the Bahamas for a week and met this girl, Tabitha who looked exactly like Alison. Tabitha just had burn scares on her arms. Emily thought that was very weird because Ali could have burns on her arms too after the fire. At the end of their trip, Tabitha started to get very creepy with the girls. It was like Tabitha knew them all their lives. One night, Tabitha asked the girls to go outside and meet her. Tabitha tried to push Hanna off the cliff that they were on. Right before Tabitha pushed Hanna off the cliff Aria came behind Tabitha and pushed Tabitha off the cliff. Tabitha died. After the girls went back to Rosewood, they all received text messages from A. The girls were so freaked out because that meant someone knew what happened to Tabitha and how they were the last ones who saw her before she died. I really enjoyed because I thought the last book was the ending and nothing could happen but everything happened. I am now wondering who is A! I enjoyed this book because it has a mystery to find out who is A but there is a twist in the mystery. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes drama and mystery books because this book has the coolest twist.
I have finished the fantasy book "The Swan Maiden" by Heather Tomlinson. The protagonist of this book is Doucette, third daughter of a lord and duchess. Her destiny was to become the leader of her household. She was raised to know how to cook and clean and always reminded that he had no magical talent like her sisters had. The antagonist of this book is basically Doucette's parents and her mental self. The setting of this book is set back into the past(a really long time ago). The conflict of this book is that Doucette believes that she isn't special like her sisters. She is also lost(mentally) because she has obeyed everything she was instructed to do but when she has a suitor seeking her hand she doesn't know who she is and what to do.I really liked this book because it was about a girl who has no backbone(metaphor) and decides to help her lover in a contest to win her heart. She has disobeyed the rules that were set for her which is the first time that she has ever done that. But in the end she finally finds her own way and a different life that she never thought that she could have; as well as a suitor of her choice. I did make several connections with Doucette as her being the third daughter and me being a third daughter a well. Doucette has sisters who are great at whatever they do and have made others think of expectations for Doucette. The same is for me, my sisters at great at whatever they do as well, which causes my parents to have me work even harder and pass their expectations for me that they had for my sisters.
The book Maximum ride Angel Experiment by James Patterson is very dramatic and action packed book. The genre is fantasy. This book tells the story of 6 characters(max, nudge, iggy, fang, angel, and gazzy)who call themselves the flock, were taken at birth from their parents and experimented on by people in the place they call “school”. “school” is a laboratory where there is a whole bunch of scientist. At the “school” they were given bird genes and so now they have wings and also they can breathe under water and can read minds. They then escape “school” and now on the run but the scientist wont have it so they are being chased by people called erasers. The erasers are experiments gone wrong so they are now being put to use. So now they are being chased by these erasers with nothing to depend on but their powers and themselves. These 6 have slept in trees and had ate at restaurants and flew away all while being on their toes due to the erasers. Throughout the story angel, one of the characters that is apart of the flock, is captured and taken back to the school. The rest of the gang saves her but during the journey they find out who they really are and now raise the question which is who is their real parents. I absolutely loved this book and enjoyed reading it. It kept me on the edge of my seat with its spine tingling suspense and the action. The book kept me interested and there was something for me to look forward to when I turn each page. I would highly recommend this book to a person who enjoys drama, action and suspense. This book will definitely keep you interested and even view the world in a different way. The difference between this book then all the others in its genre is that James Patterson has a way of writing that is relatable and that is easy to understand. He doesn’t make it difficult to understand and he makes the characters come Alive and you feel like they are actual living people.
I have just finished the book called Take Me There. This book is realistic fiction. The protagonist is the main character, Rhiannon. The antagonist is her ex-boyfriend, Steve. The setting of the story is mostly Manhattan at Rhiannon's high school. The primary conflict was that Steve broke up with Rhiannon and she was very upset. At first she was really confused and upset, but then she found out he started going out with a girl she hated named Gloria. Then, she started to plot revenge on Steve and Gloria with her friends.I liked this book a lot. I think it was very interesting. In the book, they changed points of view throughout the chapters. Sometimes it got a little bit confusing with the different P.O.V's. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes drama. This book is definitely a dramatic book. Most of the drama is sad, but some of it is funny and you can relate to it easily. I think it's really hard not to enjoy this book, but it can be confusing. I didn't really like the ending because it kind of left you hanging, but I guess that's also part of the book's charm!
I just finished the book "Never Have I Ever" by Sara Shepard. It is about Emma Paxton trying to live her life as her twin sister Sutton Mercer. Emma feels like someone is watching her every move that. Also she feels like someone knows she is not Sutton. Emma got a letter saying that Sutton was dead and that Emma needs to pretend being Sutton or Emma will die too. Emma told Ethan how she really wasn’t Sutton Mercer. Ethan is helping Emma to find out what had happened to her sister. I enjoyed this book because it got me really on the edge of my seat when I read it. For example, Emma and Ethan were in a pool and Emma saw someone watching them! I wanted to know who is the stalker. I would recommend this to anyone who likes to read a mystery book with a twist of drama!
I recently finished the realistic fiction novel, "Go Ask Alice" by Anonymous. In the book the protagonist Alice and her family had just moved to a new town. In which for Alice this meant, a new town, a new school, new friends and a new diary. After arriving Alice was lost in her new school trying to "find the flow of things" and find a new friend. Upon being invited to a girl's party, Alice was excited and ready to meet new people and have fun. She did not know then that that party would change her life forever. At the party Alice was slipped a can of coke that was laced with a drug called LSD. From there, after the party and on, Alice was now hooked on drugs and seat-belted into a life going downhill. She was trapped in a world where she thought happiness was found in drugs and getting high. She was made fun of at school for her new bad reputation by her so-called "friends" (the antagonists). Alice ran away from home in hopes of trying to be independent and thinking that she can live on her own. Both times Alice returned home because of having little money and more lost hope. This is a story of a girl trying to find her herself through the mistakes she makes. I liked this book very much. I liked this book because I can relate to it. No, I have not experienced the situation(s) that Alice was in, but seeing things in magazines and newspaper, the news and articles about girls and teens getting hooked onto drugs a finding themselves in bad situations. I read about this in books like this one that have to do with the importance of social issues such as teens doing drugs and such. I learn a lot when I read books like this. I learn what not to do and how the choices I make affect who I am as a person and who I will grow up to be. Nowadays, there is a lot a pressure being put on kids and teens and that is what I am currently living while trying to get into high school and all the extra stuff that I do,(soccer, chorus, etc.)I think that Alice felt pressured in parts of this book. I think that another thing I really liked about this book was its development of some characters. For instance, Alice was a well developed character in my opinion because in the end of the book I felt as if I could easily explain to someone who did not know, what kind of person and character Alice is. I highly recommend this book!
I have recently finished "City of Ashes," the sequel to "City of Bones." This book was written by Cassandra Clare. Any way this story continues on from after Clary finds and meets her father Valentine. After this fight, She returns to her foster father's house who's name is Luke. Luke is a lycan who used to be a Shadowhunter. After a few days of staying at Luke's house's house things finally start to get a bit interesting.Just as life was becoming a bit normal, the queen of Fairies calls Clary, Isabelle, Jace, Simon, and Alec. when inside the queen reveals some very useful information about Valentine and about themselves. After they left from the Seelie Court, Simon runs away from their group for a while. As the rest of the group returns to the Institute, the leader of the vampires, knocks on their door, while carrying Simon in his arm. He tells them that Simon will become a vampire because he has the vampire blood in him. When Simon revives into a vampire, the battle between Valentine and the Clave starts.I thought that this book was indeed better than the first book. I agree with Ms.Flagg, that the first book was a lot like Twilight, which is probably why the author of Twilight like the first books so much. Any way, I thought this book was a bit more original than the first book. This book really reviled more of the backgrounds of the characters and what secrets they were hiding. So this book basically gave us a chance to really get to know the characters a bit more. Not only that, but it did give a bit more interesting topics and ideas than the last book. It made me say" Oh my God!" when i read that Simon turned to a vampire. I personally thought that was a great way to grab the readers attention, because you would not have suspected that. If you like action and romance than you will probably like this book.
I have recently finished a fantasy book "NERDS The cheerleaders of Doom" by Michael Buckley. So in this book a girl named Matilda Choi who has a double life as a misfit and a secret agent. Matilda is called in for a mission that only she can take on and it's becoming a cheerleader! Matilda has to go undercover as a cheerleader searching for Gertrude Baker who has a machine that can travel to different worlds in the universe. Now it's up to Matilda or Maddie as the cheerleaders call her to try and stop the chaos. The protagonist of this book is Matilda Choi. The antagonist of this book is Gertrude Baker, Heathcliff, and Heathcliff's minion. The setting of this book takes place in present time. The conflict of this book is Matilda trying to stop Gertrude from doing teleportation into other worlds and creating holes in the universe. I really enjoyed this book because it contained fantasy and action in it. For instance it involved secret agents who are also students who have to save the world just about everyday. I would recommend this to fans of Michael Buckley and for any readers who love to see misfits in the world solve crimes, do awesome kicks and flips, talking animals and big heads. Not only that but also reader's who love math and technology.
I have been continuing my reading about third-graders by reading You Can’t Eat Your Chicken Pox, Amber Brown by Paula Danziger. This is a realistic fiction book in the present time in the Amber Brown series. In this book, American Amber plans to visit her Aunt Pam in London after third grade for part of her summer vacation, and then travel to Paris to see her father. Her parents are divorced, so it is particularly important for her to see her father. She thinks she can convince him to come back home. While she is visiting her Aunt Pam, she comes down with chicken pox and all her plans have to change. Many kids will read this book to hear the story about Amber, her travels, her family, and how she realizes that her father loves her but will not get back with her mom. I have read this book before and think that the writer tells a good story. But the reason that I reread this book is that, when Amber gets better and is still with her aunt in London, they visit the Museum of the Moving Image. Amber sees very old animation machines called “Zoetropes.” These are like large columns with slits cut in them. Inside are strips of paper with pictures on them. When you twirl the column around and look through the slits, it looks like the image is moving. There are cool illustrations of the strips in the book. I have seen Zoetropes in Queens our Museum of the Moving Image and I am interested to see how to make this work. I am currently working on a stop-motion animation using paper figures – not drawings like in the Amber Brown book. This time, when I read You Can’t Eat Your Chicken Pox, Amber Brown, I read it to learn more about animation. I enjoyed this book all over again. I think kids who are interested in traveling (particularly in London), in how families get along, and animation will like this book. Do you ever reread a book for some new information?
I am currently reading The Curious Event of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon. It is about an autistic boy named Christopher. He doesn't really understand why he gets into trouble but he always seems to find a way. One day in the middle of the night Chris was walking and he saw his neighbors dog dead with a fork in its stomach. He keeps asking who did it but no one knows, so he becomes obsessed with looking for it.So far I really like the book, it is an interesting book told from a different perspective. I couldn't really make a personal connection but my mom could. She works to help autistic people and help teachers learn how to deal with autism and other disabilities in their classroom. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a good mystery. One question I have is how much research did it take him to make such a complex book because it must have taken him at least six months. I have never read a book by this author but I would like to. I have read another book of this sort called Anything But Normal, is basically the same thing. It is also written through the eyes of an autistic boy. I think the most interesting aspect of the book is the perspective in which the story is told.
Today I finally finished "The Mysterious Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart and the genre is Fiction. There are three protagonists are named Reynie, Sticky, Kate, and Constance. The antagonist is Mr. Curtain. The setting in the book is mostly on Nomansan Island where Mr. Curtains institute is called Learning Institute foe the Very Enlightened. Even the inside like the lunchroom, Reynie and Sticky's room where the three characters have secret meetings, and the control tower where Mr. curtains evil schemes happen. There is basically a lot of different settings that are very important in the book. The conflict is stopping Mr. curtain from sending broadcast messages going into peoples minds that makes them drawn to Mr. Curtain. However, the main thing in that conflict was for the three protagonists solving their way to find out what Mr. Curtain was planning to do and what he was going to do. Now that I think of it, the main conflict was finding that information, how to solve it, figuring out what to do how to do it, relying on one another and using a lot of thinking to find their answer. To basically fulfill their mission.
I really love these book because so many things happened that had your mind thinking. There were a lot of questions that you wanted answers to and those questions were found out later in the book. When I read and my timer goes off that the 45 minutes are over, I'll be like "Ah." because I wanted to know more and read on. There were moments were I'll be awestruck, I couldn't believe it, even the ending there were a lot of surprises. I would recommend these book to anyone that likes adventure, likes to think, solve riddles/puzzles and want to have a lot to think about. The "Mysterious Benedict Society" are those books that you are really into it, it makes you want to know more and has you in question. I would like to ask the author how he got the ideas, clever questions and answers because the book to me, I was really engrossed in reading it. Everyday I looked forward to reading it. I would like to thank the author for writing these book. Trenton Lee Stewart, you did an amazing, excellent, wonderful job.

I finished the book The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. This book is about Violet Ambrose who was born with the gift of sensing the body's of murder victims. Violet and her best friend, Jay, try to work together to find a serial killer that has moved into there town. Violet, being irresponsible would go around, would stray away from Kay and put her self in danger. Jay, furious with her, didn't talk to her for about a week. But Violet was in love with Jay so she did all she could do so Jay wouldn't be mad at her and it worked. Any way Violet decided to step up and ask her uncle, the chief of police, to help with searching for other bodies. So while she was helping she noticed that an average looking man had imprints on him that matched the ones of the dead bodies. In panic Violet called her uncle and succeeded in catching the killer... At least one. Apparently the killer worked with a partner and it was extremely hard to find him. But the partner was onto Violet and tried to kill her. But Violets newly found boyfriend, Jay, came right in time. Reluctantly the police came in time to save the both of them.I really liked this book because it's one of my favorite genres (fantasy). Also I really liked the way the author used descriptive words. It really helped create an image in my head to see what was really going on.
I recently finished Lock and Key by Sarah Dessen. The genre is realistic fiction. Its about a girl named Ruby who goes through a bunch of different challenges in her life, because her mom one day randomly left her to go live on her own. Now because of that her whole life changes, Ruby now has to go to a fancy private school and live with her sister, and her sisters husband. The protagonist is Ruby, and the antagonist is her mom. The setting is school, and her home. The primary conflict is that Ruby's mom abandoned her.I would recommend this book to someone who feels abandoned and alone at the time so they can relate to how Ruby is feeling in the beginning of the book. Advice I would give to the author is explain the beginning of the book a little better because I was a little confused first, but then as I read along into the middle I wasn't as confused.
I recently finished the book 'The Old Man And The Sea' by Ernest Hemingway. The protagonist in this book was the old man, and the antagonist was the fish that he was battling throughout the story. That was only one of the antagonists, another antagonist was the fact that he battled the way he felt about himself in the sense that he was old and withered. The setting of most of the story was at sea with his young protege, in hard seas and soft currents. The primary conflict is that he is on a awful streak of 85 days without a fish and he is determined to catch a fish, he says that "85 is a lucky number". I think that the main conflict in the story was a character vs. self situation because he was battling his feelings about how he was getting to old for fishing, and has withered down. But, he did not give up, he persevered onward and fought himself, (metaphorically). I love this book because it kind of reminds me of my great-grandfather who passed away last year. But his whole he persevered and worked hard at what he did best. A story of him that makes this book remind me of him was he was about 70 when he painted my whole upstate house and then when he finished painting the whole house, he decided that wasn't enough, he then gave a second layer to the house. That shows me how hard-working he really was. Later in his years, he started getting weaker, but he is the only 99 year old that I know that goes to sleep at 12 and wakes up at 12! he still had a young mentality. Thats why my great-grandfather Nat, hard working his whole life, whether it was coming through Ellis Island at 5 without a dollar in his pocket, reminds me of 'The Old Man And The Sea.
I finished reading Desires of the Dead, the sequel of The Body Finder by Kimberly Derting. The main character, Violet Ambrose, has a morbid talent. She can actually sense the books of murder victims. In the previous book Violet actually solved multiple multiple murder cases and found a team or serial killers. In this book Violet finds another body. But this time the body of a boy instead of a girl. Because Violet had previously discovered the other bodies the FBI had gotten suspicious and started to get involved. The sudden interaction with the FBI had put Violet and Jays relationship in jeopardy. Because of the FBI's new obsession with Violet she is having even more trouble keeping her morbid ability a secret. I would really reccomend this book to people who enjoy anticipated mystery. I really like this book because to me it never got boring and it was very interesting. Although I still wonder why Violet's uncle let the FBI get access to Violet and her personal information.
The fantasy book City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare is an amazing series. In this book Clary is dealing with a lot of overwhelming things. She just found out that the boy she loves, Jace, is her brother! She is having a lot of feeling about so many people and she is having lots of probelms because of that. Jace,Clary,Simon and many others go on another huge adventure with a lot of twists and turns.I love this book. I love this book because its a very surspising book. I never see anything coming wheni read it. It makes me want to keep reading, to find out what happens. I have read many fantasy books and so far this is my faviorte series. This book is at the top of my recomendtion list now.
I previously read the book 100 Cupboards by N.D Wilson. This book is about a boy, Henry, who's parents died and was sent to live with her aunt and uncle. When Henry gets comfortable in his room he notices some chipping on his wall so he decides to peel it all off. Soon he realizes an astonishing 100 different cupboards that all lead to different dimensions. Each one holding a different world and with different people. Every single cupboard gives Henry hints about his past. Apparently Henry's uncle Frank was from one of the cupboards and he made a know life in the world we know as earth!I really recommend this book to everyone because it is a combination of multiple genres and it keeps pulling you in. I my self really like this because it includes mystery which is very intriguing to me. this book reminds me of actual cupboards. how there are different categories and spices. And these categories and spices are similar to the actual cupboards in the book.
I finished the realistic fiction novel "Girls, Drums and Dangerous Pie" by Jordan Sonnenblick. This book was about a boy named Steven(the protagonist) who has a love and passion for the drums. He is great at the drums and even takes drum lessons and practices everyday! He is a part of the All-City band and plays drums also on the weekends. Soon Steven realizes that his little brother Jeffery, who is Steven's heart and soul, is diagnosed with Leukemia. After these sad news, Steven's life turns upside down as his family has to deal with traveling back and forth to Philadelphia for Jeffery's treatments and faces financial problems while trying to pay for all of Jeffery's medical bills. In the book, Steven has great friends to help him deal with his pain. For example, his friend Annette is very helpful and good to Steven in his time of need, even when Steven is competing for the attention of a different girl, Renee who has been the girl of his dreams for years. As Steven learns to cope with his family’s little attention for him, Steven realizes the importance of his brother and how much he really means to himI loved this book! I think that one thing that I really liked about it was its depth in relationships. For example, Steven and his little brother Jeffery had a very strong relationship. They were both very close and Steven was a great role model and big brother to Jeffery. He was always there when Jeff needed him and he would always help keep Jeff happy and un-frightened during his treatments. Another was Steven and Annette’s strong relationship. They were both very close friends and Steven knew he could always count on Annette as well as trust her. She would help him whenever he needed and always ask how little Jeffery was doing. Also I loved how the book had different moods throughout the story. Sometimes it could be very sad when they talk about Jeffery and how he is doing but it could also be very happy and calm during times when Steven his playing drums or hanging out with Annette or Renee. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves a sad story filled with great relationships between characters and a very heartfelt story!
In the fantasy book City of Glass by Cassandra Clare is an awesome series. In the series Jace has to fight his feelins for Clary. Simon needs to deal with being rejected from his own kind because he is a daylighter. And Clary has to deal with her mom in the hosiptal,Jace,Simon AND becoming a shadowhunter! She has a lot coming towards her. This book is filled with adventures, mystery and surpising things. I recommend this book to Kameeron because she reads a lot of fantasy and I think that she will enjoy it. Another reason i recommend it to her is because she reads a lot of mystery and this book is filled with mystery. I can realte with Clary because she is very over whelmed right now and i am usually over whelemed. I know how it feels to have all these feelings but you have to keep it inside. So this is how i can relate to the book.
In the fantasy novel Twilight, Bella an ordinary girl moves to the worst place she can imagine, it always rains or its gloomy outside. She mets the mysterious Edward and finds out a big secret about him...HES A VAMPIRE! In this series Bella and Edwaard go through a lot together and through the books you experince it. I really enjoyed this book. I likeit because it describes it really well, its like your there! Thats oneof the things I really like about books. This doesnt compare to any books ive read that are fantasy, becaus i havent rea any books with the MAIN characters are main characters. Another thing, EVEN if I did, I did not read any with the outcomes of these vampires. These vampires are completly different of how other people describe vampires.
I finished the book "The Power Of Six" by Pittacus Lore. I have finished this book last week and it was amazing. It takes place in Ohio, Florida, and Virginia. It's about five teenagers who are trying to save themselves from the Mag. One of these four teenagers are aliens. Each alien has a number. The aliens are number four, six, seven, and nine. The other character in the story is called Sam. Sam father was involved with the aliens coming to Earth. The book is amazing, each character has their own story. There is a lot of action in it. In every chapter, there is a problem, a problem that can and might not be solved. I recommend this book to everybody who is reading this review. Once, you read this book, you won't regret it.
In the fantasy book I finished Maximum Ride Angel Experiment Schools out Forever by James Patterson there is this group, or flock is what they call themselves, of 6 kids (max, nudge, fang, angel, gazzy and Iggy) who were taken at birth and experimented on. Now each one of them have wings, are able to breathe under water and only angel can read minds. Since this is the second book of the series in the beginning they are sleeping in a tree. In book one they escape from the lab they were experimented in and literally fight people who are trying to take them back to the lab. When they awake they are ambushed and the character fang is badly hurt. As much as they hate it they have to take him to the hospital where they meet a social who works for the lab but creates a bond with the flock. The flock stays at her house and attends a school but that did not last long due to the fact that wherever there is the flock something always ends up torn down. Yes again they were found but they got away. They go to the social worker’s home but they then learn she is a part of the group who is trying to get them. Even though she has not done anything wrong the flock does what a flock does best… fly away. They fly away to cave where they would have to stay until they found but they are sick and tired of running and a miracle happens. They find Iggy’s parents and were going to stay with them but Iggy could never leave the flock so ends up leaving with the flock. They then try to find the source of the group that is trying to get them and put a stop to them. They go to the headquarters and learn they have microchips in them so they leave. They are even more bothered and are left clueless of what they should do next. This book or the author just never disappoints. James Patterson is a gifted writer and I would recommend this to someone who loves books filled with action, drama and suspense. This is an excellent read and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I absolutely love this book and would just re-read it for the fun of it.
In the fantasy book Witch and Wizard Book 1 by James Patterson, in the middle of the night Whitford and Wisteria were awaken and taken to jail because they were accused of being a witch and wizard. They thought it was a joke but they realize they actually realize they are a witch and wizard when wisteria shot lightning out of her finger tips and Whitford walked through walls. They escape and a group called the new order tries to capture them. Whitford’s girlfriend died and is now in a place called the shadow land. She takes Whitford and Wisteria through the shadow lands and out the shadow lands where they meet a group of kids who are against the new order. They all team up and try to free other witches and Wizards out of jail and does it successfully and during the process learn they are the chosen ones to run the world. This book was able to keep my attention and I absolutely. It shows the imagination of the author and shows that he able to think outside the box which I love about the book. Some advice I would give to the author is to give the past on Whitford and his girlfriend’s past. I would tell him this because I would want to see how this could affect him even more by knowing their history.
In the realistic fiction book Bronx Masquerade, by Nikki Grimes, eighteen indifferent teenagers in Mr. Ward's English class start an open mike Friday, at which they share their inner most thoughts and personal lives through poetry and rap. The school at which the story takes place in is a mix of mostly African-Americans and Latinos, with a minority of Caucasian people, and of course the other small minorities that aren't really observed in the book. Through the poetry they write, the students learn to have hope about the future and not to judge a book by its cover. They learn not to give into stereotypes and lives that others seem to have pre-determined for them, but to follow their own dreams to look past their judgmental and stereotypical opinions of the students of other peers and family members. They all have problems and are surrounded by negativity and through it all they find the good in it. They are strong minded people and do not feed into nonsense and for that they will make it far in the future.I enjoyed this book because it made me view the world differently. I realized that many people are struggling in the world so I should be grateful for what I have. Not everyone is fortunate to have certain things and I should not take for granted the stuff I do have. I would recommend this book to someone who enjoys drama book and that have a very important theme. Also someone who likes to read about life changing experiences.
The book that i have just recently finished is the Non-fiction/horror novel called "Lord Loss" and i written by Darren Shan. In this book the main character Grubs wakes up one morning with his parents and his sister Dead with their heads cut of hanging from the celling in his basement. when Grubs walks in he discovers that there are demons who killed his parents. As he moves on he lives with his Uncle Press and they are living in a mansion in the middle of know where. One day when Grubs is outside he meets a boy named Bill-E. they become really close friends and then Grubs comes up with an idea that Uncle Press is a ware wolf. If i say any more the book would be ruined so i won't continue.I think this is a really good and exiciting book to read. i would recommend this book to people who are into action or slight mystery. i don't think i could make any personal connections to this book because nothing big in my life had a major twist at the end. i i had to give advice to Darren Shan i would probibly say make the book longer or just add a couple more scenes with Grubs and Bill-E and also keep writing i love these books. this book i really simular to the other books i have read by Darren Shan. I read the whole Cirque De FReak series and it is all based around the general topic of horror and action/adventure.i think the best part of the book was at the end when the big twist happens and also when Grubs beats Lord loss at a game of chess. and also when Grubs and Uncle Press have there talk about what just happend. this part in the book really outs everything together and i becomes to make sense.
