It's hard to name a book that made me cry...there is a passage in The Help that really moved me- when Minny & Abilene go to church after their book was published and the congregation has signed a copy of it for Abilene. I found that to be pretty emotional. The end of Of Mice and Men is always tragic to me- even though I know it's coming. To Be a Slave is a powerful collection of narratives from actual slaves, and there is a story from a mother talking about her child being born into slavery that takes my breath away every time I think about it.
