Has anyone else here read this one or the follow up? They are both on the list. I have started the first one, & I'm finding it rough going. Would appreciate reviews, observations, opinions, etc...

They were okay but not near as fun as the Hitchhikers Guide series
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency is the better of the two, but I liked both alot. If you look at it as an absurdist's take on mystery novels and try not to analyze it logically but enjoy the read, it might open up and be funnier and more fun to read.
I actually prefer them to the Hitchhiker's series, I think, though I love them all.
I like Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. It's absurd, and funny (at least to me).
