Randy Attwood (randyatwood) | 3 comments On Dec. 5, 1989 I sent Walker Percy the first few chapters of The 41st Sermon. Soon after, I received back my cover letter upon which he had written: "Randy: It reads well – I'd be glad to look at rest, but must tell you I had to give up finding agents or publishers for unpublished writers – I'd be doing nothing else. Everybody in the South is writing a novel – Best, W.P.
To have agreed to read the rest of the manuscript, I understand, was quite rare for him then.I sent the remaining chapters and waited...and waited. Then on the morning of May 11, 1990, I read his obituary in the Kansas City Star. I do not know if he read the rest of my manuscript. I don't know what happened to it. But here is the book. I like to think that had he read it, he would have liked it.

The book is now live on:

I've put a scan of the note on my blog: http://randyattwood.blogspot.com/2011...

Happy to send free download code to any member of this group who would be interested in reviewing it.The 41st Sermon
