I haven't read this series yet, but I'm intrigued. I'll start the first one with you the beginning of November.
Awesome news! Samhain is going to be giving away an ARC of Head Rush to one of the re-read participants! Details coming soon...
Hope you're all getting your books ready - re-read starts Nov 1!
Hope you're all getting your books ready - re-read starts Nov 1!
The wait between book 2 and 3 has been torturous and a refresher before Head Rush is a great idea! This is going to be fun!
Hi all, glad to join this group. I've been waiting what seems like forever for Head Rush, and Samhain has given it an awesome cover! I just re-read Mind Games in September, but I'll definitely join in the discussion and pick up Double Cross again.
Just an FYI that I will be a little slow to join in because Chloe Neill and Meljean Brook each have a book coming out tomorrow, and I need to read those first!!!!
No problem, Michelle - I know you read fast! Heart of Steel is motivation for me to get my game on too. :) Join in when you can!

The Disillusionists series is an important one for me in terms of my personal growth as a reader. Prior to reading it, while I liked books that had dark tones, in the end, I needed my heros and heroines to be, well, heroic. I needed to like them.
With the Disillusionists, we have one very screwed up heroine and a group of people who may or may not be doing good things (no matter what they tell themselves). Lots of grey areas.
The world building blew me away and the magic system was very cool, but I had trouble with Justine. I still needed to read the next one, though, and since then I have come to appreciate the characters who make me cringe as well as rally behind. It's that visceral reaction that still makes me care what happens, makes me want to lead character to get better, to come out of her own illusions.
So, I'm thinking of starting book 1 again in the next couple of weeks. If you like the informal book club approach, join in!
