i would change like the part where fred , lupin and tonks die...i would also change that in the last book harry didn't hit ron for all the nasty stff he said..lolz
i would keep fred alive... but i'm not sure about lupin and tonks; sorry, i love them, but it made the victory sweeter. and i would change the order of the phoenix. harry was so awful and annoying- i wanted to smack him the whole time i was reading it!
ttly agree maya! although i would bring tonks and lupin back. not moody, because of the eye. although with a few tweaks the eye wouldn't have been neccesarry either...
yes... like, and they just had their baby!well, at least jkr didn't kill them off while tonks was still pregnant...
Would you honestly have wanted to spare all these people though?Lol, silly way to say it, but it wouldn't have been "realistic". It would have been too perfect.
The epilogue was already too perfect and cheesy I think.
I mean, even if Ron/Hermoine and Harry/Ginny had started going out, what are the chances that they would have stayed together all that time? Yes, they went through a lot together, but they were like high school sweethearts. It doesn't always last.
And Neville becoming the professor?? UGH! I saw that coming, and I was dreading it.
yes, i always found it strange that everyone who was going out at hoggy eventually ended up getting married... i mean it's not that likely that you will marry your first girlfriend/boyfriend, but everyone did!
so lupin and tonks die and leave harry the godfather of their son just like his parrents and serious. there could be an etire book series between harry and him
I'm not sure that I would change anything. If you don't kill some of Harry's friends at the end, it doesn't seem realistic. It becomes really cheesy....Actually, I take that back....The one thing that I would change is the fact that in every book she retells the story. She reexplains relationships, and history on the characters. I understand why she does it, but really if someone's picking up a book from the middle of the series and they don't know what's going on, that's their own fault. Don't punish the ones that have read from the beginning of the series!! LOL!!
but they didnt marry theyr first girlfriend/boyfriend!Harrys first girlfriend was Cho.
Ginnys first boyfriend was Michael.
Hermiones first boyfriend was Victor.
Rons first girlfriend was Lavender.
< comment.
Snape's death. It's not that he died, but the manner in which he was so unceremoniously snuffed out. When Snape knows Harry's with McGonogall I wish he would have carted him off to his office and then instead of taking him to Voldemort like you're expecting he helps him. Not that it would have made the story better, but I wanted a moment between the two of them with all the cards on the table where they could forgive each other, or at least understand. But even if he had at least died more heroically I would have been happy. I don't think it's unrealistic for them to marry their high school sweethearts because where they are living in a smaller community of magical people where there are only a handful of witches and wizards their age, options are limited. And especially for Harry. He's going to want to be with someone who likes him and knows him without all the fame and that limits him to basically Ginny and Hermione, and he never loved Hermione that way.
Yeah I totally agree with Annalisa. I am mad that Fred died, but I knew it had to happen. one of the Weasleys had to. It couldn't be the parents; not Charlie, because we don't know him too well; not Bill, because he got attacked by Greyback; not Percy, 'cause we don't really like him any more; not George because he got his ear blown off; and not Ron or Ginny, because their Harry's best friends. That leaves Fred. I hate it though! Fred was my favorite character.
I don't have a problem with the way Snape died, but I that is a good point... The small community and Harry wanting to find someone that truly loves him for who he is.That is nice and does make sense in a way, but I still don't find it realistic (HAHAHA talking about 'realistic' and HP) that they would BOTH marry Hermoine and Ginny.
Just don't think it would happen.
Nice way to end it I guess though. You can't exactly introduce a whole new partner in the epilogue without much of an explination.
Ginny totally had the right to get rid of a Horcrux, she got possessed by Voldemort for goodness's sake! Also you Just didn't see enough of Ginny in Deathly Hallows, otherwise I don't think I would have changed anything else.
Hey! You can to Marry High School friends my parents had crushes on each other and have now been married 23 wonderful years and are still counting.
the last book should have been a bit more definitive.the ending was really vague.it would have been really good if so many beloved characters(Fred,Tonks,Lupin n Hedwig's death bothered me the most) hadn't died.but she did what she had to do
the way Snape died also bugged me a lot.
NopesI think even though all those deaths were sad.. it still made the book worth reading over 100 times and counting...
lol
but i like them all..i wouldn't change it
I would love to have more details about their lives after hogwarts, before they put the children on the train in the deathly hallows
Yeah, that would be nice, except the books have to show what the situation is like. In war, both sides suffer and accepting death is a major theme in the books. Also, it would be incredibly boring if there was no danger and the threat of death.
i would have made sure that BOTH of the Weasley twins survived!!!!! and then I would want to be in the boook and fall in love with George!!! or Fred... I"M NOT PICKY!!!
It would've been nice to see how a Draco/Hermione r'ship would have worked. Hmm, maybe too fanfiction-y? Oh well.
I would like to change absolutely nothing. It was perfect as it was cause 1) if you change anything it just will unravel cause the story was too carefully planned out to be changed, 2) it was realistically (well, as much as it can be for a fantasy book =D)filled with casualties and stuff like that, and 3) I dunno about you, but I just liked how it all turned out!
I agree with Elizabeth 100%. It would be boring if you changed even one little thing. I would not change it at all!. =D
I have to say I agree with Oddgirldiares on the epilogue. It is sort of a let down after the rest of the book. I don't mind the way Tonks' and Remus' deaths were done. I don't think they seem non-important because they didn't get death scenes. It is realistic that Harry can't be there when all of his friends die. I have to say, I think Ginny and Harry are perfect for each other. Ginny matures through the series, which is shown when she becomes comfortable around Harry. The whole series is about Harry, so I think it is appropriate that the seventh book is mainly about the trio. I love the fifth book! After the seventh, it is my favorite. I think it was dark because Harry was going through a difficult time. I really can't think of one thing I want to change. Even though some parts of the book aren't perfect, I loved them all!
i agree with pandy and oddgirldiaries on the epilouge as well. weird names coupled with corniness- lets just say i didnt think it was the high point of the book. :)
i agree with the people above me, the epilogue was very lame and annoying, they were trying to stuff to many things into only a few ending pages, she could have done that way better. And i would have made Tonks and Lupin stay alive, well basically all the people (and owl's) who died alive, except snape, he needed to die, and voldie. :D
i know, but i think that it wouldn't have worked if he hadn't died, otherwise him and harry's relationship would have changed, and ruined the whole story!
