book 1 hasn't been translated over here and this one introduces Konrad Sejer - so I think its technically could be book 1

You took my nomination, Dee! lol
@ Pam..no, book 1 has not been translated yet and no you don't need to read book one to have a good grasp of the series in book 2
Since so many of us are in different spots in series' how about an author read instead of specific book?
It's really hard to nominate a book, of the 3 nominated I would have nominated 2 of them and I have read one of them. I will nominate
The Ice Princess by Camilla Läckbergsince I have the book.
Dalia - interesting idea - lemme talk to Naomi and see what we come up with ;)Dalia wrote: "Since so many of us are in different spots in series' how about an author read instead of specific book?"

I like that idea.
Yeah, I like that idea...we could give it a try and get feedback from the group as to how they liked it. Good idea, Dalia
Another group I'm uses this format (group chooses an author and people pick any book by that author). The discussion is less focused and more generically about the author which works well if a lot of people are very familiar with the author, not so well if only a few are.
It of course can make the discussion less fun in some ways, but also lets us discuss character development over the series (for those who have finished a series). I am halfway through Operation Napoleon by the way and so far no mention of our favorite Icelandic gloomy detective....(or his annoying daughter for that matter).
What do you find with spoilers and such...For example, I can think of Jim's books..If someone had started with Snow Angels and hadn't read Lucifer's tears yet, they may get ticked if I started talking about Vaari's marriage in LT...

thanks to Dalia for the idea - I just posted the thread for the November Author of the Month nominations.http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/6...
I'm new in the group, so this will be my first BOM; I'm looking forward to it!I'm not sure if this has been a BOM read, but it wasn't om the group shelf.
I read Nemesis recently, but there were lots of references to events that passed in this book, the first in the Harry Hole series. My nomination goes to:
The Redbreast by Jo Nesbø
Here is the link to vote for the Book of the Month. the author one will be up momentarilyhttp://www.goodreads.com/poll/show/55...
sorry guys, been a crappy couple of days - the winner of this month's group is (drum roll please)...
While looking for a copy, I learned that "Tainted Blood" is the same book. Apparently the English translation has 2 different titles...

Funny enough The Redeemer is the next Jo Nesbo book I need to read, when I can lay my hands on a copy....
For others who may have already read Jar City, it is available as instant dvd from amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Jar-City/dp/B00...
I hope to get it from Netflix when I finish the book. I've read 2 chapters & liking it ok so far. Definitely not a 'feel-good' book so far. :-)

I have a paperback that I believe I ordered fm Amazon here in the US. I've bought all of Nesbo's books thus far, rather than reading them on my Kindle. It just seemed more fitting with this author. I haven't looked yet, but I'm assuming/hoping that The Snowman and The Leopard are available here!
I have The Snowman on my PBS wishlist so I know it is. It's a pretty long wait. I haven't checked for The Leopard.
