I've been meaning to read
for a while now, ✿Michelle✿. It is national cookie month and I was thinking I could fit it in b/f the end of the month. We'll see. Gee, isn't that what your mom used to say instead of a outright disappointing "No."

Just so you know, I started reading Sprinkle with Murder, and all of the cupcake talk is really causing me to struggle with my current diet. It doesn't help that there are recipes included. Now I feel like nothing but a cupcake will do!
Lisa Kay wrote: "Forget the Halloween Candy, bring on the cupcakes!"The main character is making pina colada cupcakes. I love pina colada anything. So the cupcake is pineapple, with coconut buttercream icing, with a cherry on top. I'm going to try to make these tomorrow if its not too expensive to get the ingredients.
The coconut icing kills it for me LOL My 15 YO daughter and I make cupcakes quite often. Our favorites so far have been the chocolate chip cookie dough and lemon meringue. We skipped making cupcakes last week and made Rolo brownie bites drizzled with caramel sauce. They were good too :) The next ones we want to try are Snickers cupcakes.
*starts drooling* I made some chocolate chip biscuits today after I'd seen it posted in another GR group for a buddy-read and couldn't stop thinking about it. You ladies are going to start me on a cupcake trend.
I love the ideas of Pina Colada cupcakes, Michelle!
I kept reading last night just to see what other cupcakes would be mentioned. There was lemon drop, blonde bombshells, death by chocolate. I finally just had to stop reading. I had to sit on my hands to prevent myself from going to the store in the middle of night in my snowman pj's and buying the ingredients I needed last night, LOL!!!
Hey, ✿M✿! I saw that
was going to be BOM for the Cozy Mysteries Group - and you've already started reading!? Good for you.I found this website with a recipe for Piña Colada Cupcakes that looks good. The pics are cute too.

I was going to go with this recipe http://www.thepastryaffair.com/blog/2.... But ended up going with Betty Crockers recipe because it was just soooooo much cheaper to buy all the ingredients. If anyone asks, I'll say I made it from scratch, LOL ! I'll probably try to make them from scratch in time for Thanksgiving though. I'll do a taste test with both recipes. LK, this challenge is a gift and curse!!

Chocolate chips + biscuits = my comfort food! I don't know how to make them, but sampled some made by a family friend.
Lisa Kay wrote: "I think biscuits are cookies in Australia, ✿M✿. Just like England. Or am I wrong, CaroB?"I need to travel more, LOL! My mind went to straight to biscuits, LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My family is from the deep south, and according to them, there isn't anyhting that can't go in a biscuit from cheese to chocolate to sweet potatoes.
I love biscuits. My mother was born in Little Rock and she was the best cook. Man-oh-man! Did she make great buttermilk biscuits, and baking powder biscuits, and potato bread pocket biscuits, and...You are right, anything goes on them (though I love honey & butter). Did you see McDonalds is now serving chicken on biscuits for breakfast?

I'll go McDonalds just for the chicken biscuit, and I always put honey on it. Yummy!!!!!
I'm from Louisiana and live in Alabama and can verify that anything goes with biscuits lol Lauren and I get our cupcake recipes from Annie's Eats blog. I'll post a link when I get home since I'm on my phone :)
Lisa Kay wrote: "I think biscuits are cookies in Australia, ✿M✿. Just like England. Or am I wrong, CaroB?"Spot on, Lisa Kay! What you call cookies, we call biscuits. Haven't figured out what you actually call biscuits though :-) Can someone post a pic?
Oh, yummo! Thanks Lisa Kay. We call those Scones (pronounced scohnns), and I'm now thinking it's been way too long since I've had some. *goes off in search of her recipe book, mumbling "chicken scones? hmmm"*
Here's the link for the site I was talking about. There are tons of stuff on there in addition to yummy cupcakes :) http://annies-eats.net/
