Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments Just wondering who is still alive on this forum. Drop me a note and let me know you're still breathing and interested in Christian Fantasy Fiction. I'm new here - so I'd like to know who is still connected.

Janelle (janelle5) Yep still breathing. Still interested in reading fantasy. Just not very talkative.

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments Thanks for responding, Janelle - I feared that I might have entered an abandoned neighborhood. :)

Sarah (sarah3399) | 2 comments I'm here! I couldn't live without Christian Fantasy Fiction. :)

message 5: by Michael (new)

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments Hi Sarah! Glad that there are others out here. :)

message 6: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (sarah3399) | 2 comments Me too. I'm switching off so that every other book I read is Christian, and a lot of the Christian books I find in book stores don't really interest me at all so I want to read something that can interest me and have some better values.

message 7: by Janelle (new)

Janelle (janelle5) Hi, I had thought myself this group might have died. I'm a new member here and new to Goodreads. Glad to see that its not, as you said Michael, entirely abandoned.

message 8: by Michael (new)

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments Me too! We Christians must stick together. :)

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments For those who are interested - I'm doing a giveaway for my debut novel: Shadows: Book of Aleth, Part One.

message 10: by Janeen (new)

Janeen Ippolito (janeenippolito) | 1 comments I joined this group, but never made it official. I'm here and I'm interested. I'm a fantasy fan who always went for secular reads because I often found that the Christian stuff over-emphasized sermonizing and under-emphasized quality creative content. I've recently read some works that have proved me wrong, and I'm looking forward to more. I currently have a blog where I sometimes review fantasy books and discuss matters from a Christian AND a fantasy context.

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments Hi Janeen (TheQuietPen) and it's nice to see you here! I hope you signed up for the chance at my giveaway (see message above). Or, better yet, I hope you picked it up already and enjoy it! :)

I can appreciate anyone who has "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" on their favorites list.

message 14: by Michael (new)

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments Hi Sandy! I'm glad to see more people here. :)

Is it wrong for me to suggest my own work?
Here it is - Shadows: Book of Aleth, Part One

message 15: by Janelle (new)

Janelle (janelle5) I don't think it is wrong to suggest your own book.
It's fine to let the group know what you have written because we are always on the lookout for new books and you definitely want to create some word of mouth and get the book out there.

Jane | 3 comments Hello,
I too joined the group but did not post. Thanks for restarting the conversation, Michael. Congratulations on your book! What is Shadows about? I am a fellow Christian fantasy author with book 2 on the way. Series are fun.

Thanks, Jane!

Shadows: Book of Aleth, Part One is an allegorical fantasy of a nation that has lost the truth and one man's quest to restore it. It begins with the main character disillusioned about his own life as he begins a quest to find the Book of Aleth. During his quest, he realizes that his life is a lie and that his nation has believed a lie and that the Book of Aleth holds the key to unlock the mysteries that swirl around him. Sorry - no spoilers! :)

Thanks for reconnecting.

Todd Boyer | 5 comments Greetings group. I found this group while doing some research for my book series Demon Soul Saga, Book 1, The consuming. Since this group is into reading Christian/ Fiction/ Fantasy, I think my book would be a perfect fit for this group. Please check out my book and let me know what you think. This is my first book and I am currently seeking a good Literary agent.

Great to meet you and thanks for sharing your information! Concerning a literary agent - are you looking for a Christian agent? If so, I highly recommend Christian Writers' Market Guide 2011. This is a must-have resource for any Christian writer. God bless!

Todd Boyer | 5 comments Michael, thanks for the greeting. I am not sure yet if I am going to go straight for a Christian Agent or main stream. I really see movie potential of possibly a Graphic Novel version of my series. I think the great thing about my book is that it is marketable to both Christians and non Christian markets. I think this review from a guy in India says it best. http://d-review.blogspot.com/2011/11/... My book specifically talks openly about Christ, Heaven, and Hell but in a non threatening way to unbelievers with a fantasy and fiction element. I may be able to reach more people that need to hear the story if I go the mainstream route. Whatever I do, ultimately it will be GODS will that will determine what agent and agency is best suited for this work he has blessed me to tell.

Michael Duncan (michaelduncan) | 14 comments I read the blurb of your book and I must say that I'm intrigued. It might be the first book that I've seen where a demon is actually the protagonist. Honestly, I'm not quite sure what to make of it... but I'll have to read it to make a better determination. If it's on Kindle or Nook - I might just hop on over and pick up a copy.

Todd Boyer | 5 comments Michael,

My book is available for Kindle and there is an eBook version on my author website at www.outskirtspress.com/theconsuming

If you do pick it up, I would love to hear what you think.

Vicki Lucas (vickivlucas) | 4 comments I'm here and alive! I check here often for some great discussions. Anyone have anything to discuss?

message 25: by Janelle (new)

Janelle (janelle5) Hi Vicki, I check in here every now and then. I don't read as much Christian fantasy as I used to. So I guess I'm not very talkative on the subject. But I'm happy to chip in with any conversations that come up.
