I think you will love this book.
I think you will love this book.
Also, not sure if this is similiar to the ones you are asking for:
I liked this series and I think it's interesting to see the angels being like the bad guys.
The best way I've found good books to read is by checking out other people's shelves and doing a comparison. That way if you find someone with similar interests, you can start reading books they have already rated.
Hey, angel lovers! I'm thinking of starting a new series, and I'm torn between Fallen and Hush Hush, as I've seen all sorts of mixed reviews. Which do you think would be best? I'm trying to get away from any 'damsel in distress' stories. I need to take a break from those for a while :)

Hush,Hush is very Twilighty in the beginning. I literally just finished the second book in the series about 10 minutes ago and I kept wanting to yell "defend yourself!" to the heroine. She is very much a damsel in distress.
If I had to pick between the two, I would go with Fallen, but I'm not sure either series is what you're looking for if you want to get away from female characters who lean heavily on the male characters.
I think Nora is a much stronger character than Bella though. Nora doesn't cling to Patch. She's fiesty while Bella is much meeker and unsure of herself.
Thank you very much, that was exactly what I needed to know. I'll probably try Fallen at some point, but not right away. I just saw Amy's post about Angel Burn, it's one I'd forgotten about and I think I'll be going with that. It sounds pretty unique. Thanks again!

Bella seems too weak unlike Nora who is stronger than she seems.
Try Darcy Towns trilogy MorningstarEvenstarDaystarAlso another good angel series starts with Angels' Blood
Let me know what you think???
Definitely Unearthly and Hallowed by Cynthia Hand - you will love them - I have also read Fallen and Hush Hush series - I think personally Hush is the better written of the two - the third book Silence is definitely the best in the series.Lauren Kate's Fallen isn't bad - I think probably Torment is the best book in that series.
But UnEarthly and particularly Hallowed surpasses both of these for sheer style, twists and thrills - its incredibly well written and researched - definitely give them a go.
Also Angefall by Susan Ee is brilliant - debut novel Dystopian and not fluffy like Hush, Hush or Fallen - absolutely fantastic though! 2nd Book due out next year. Enjoy!
