Need help to load a Kindle

I would really appreciate help from you all! My son is deploying and I am getting him a Kindle and loading it with books. He loves Science Fiction (a la Pirate Latitudes and Gates of Fire type). I would like to find as much free content that a man would like to read and need some suggestions! Any help would be appreciated! I am ordering the Kindle and will be loading it and sending to him in a couple weeks. Thanks again!

Most of the free stuff I found is the classics. I found about 60 free books. There are some Ghost tales by Joseph Sheridan La Fanu and a few free romance type books, but I do not remember seeing much in the way of Sci-Fi. However, you may be able to find some 99 cent books.
I just found this on facebook http://www.facebook.com/EreaderNewsToday . It gives you the latest free and almost free books for kindle.
