Erin In the first 30 pages was good. Then Nora got all defensive and did some stuff (not going to say to ruin it for people) but she really bugs the crap out of me! Tell me what you think of what she did in the begining made you mad and Patch really did nothing. Please let me know.

Sandy Well Patch wasn't really all blameless in this book, it did look like at times that he was doing something with Marcie Millar which was Nora's "enemy" but Nora OMG she irritated me beyond measure. Putting herself in danger on purpose, jumping to conclusions acting bratty -sigh-

Erin I know! I havent gotten very far into Crescendo yet but she just made me mad in the firt 100 pages that I have gotten into! GRRR Nora

Laura I have always found Nora kind of an annoying and under developed character. I have read the first two books, and I don't even really know why.…

Chelsea_Book_Obsessed I skipped that book cause it got too crappy

Monisa Ahmed I dont think so...

Kimi Yes she does, a lot. I felt like she should have figured out the whole thing about Patch a lot sooner than she did. And the choices that she makes just make me mad.

Alisha Gollihugh No Nora did not annoy me. You have to look at it from her perspective and everything she is. she is a good student who is missing her dad or who she thought was her dad and being tormented by Marcie Miller. In the second book she didn't know what was going on she thought that it was the day she met Patch with a big gapping whole for the last 3 months. Plus no one get to tell me what to do I would be the same way making my own choice and not trusting someone who does not trust me to tell me the truth from the very beginning. I get that Patch was trying to protect her but knowledge is power and to leave someone naive is to leave them powerless and not able to make good decisions because they don't have the all that facts that you do like I don't know Patch does.

Erin I finished the book and realized she acually didnt annoy me. I have always loved Nora and has been one of my favorite characters! When I finished the book I realized she was acually right to act how she did.

I was proven wrong, Nora did not annoy me. In the begining of the book she did but not anymore.

message 11: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin @Melissa I liked the roof part too, I was laughing. And I get what you say and I completley agree with everything you said.

I still like Nora and Patch even for there mistakes :D

Alisha Gollihugh But what relationship has no mistakes? If everything was always 100% perfect than you wouldn't know to treasure the moment because it would always be!!

message 13: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin Yeah there relationship is pretty awesome but they do admit they fight a lot in the book but thats ok. They're great

Alisha Gollihugh I think the next one will be more them fight together against which ever side they choose than fighting each other now that Nora is immortal

message 15: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin Nora is immortal!??!?! WHAT!!!

message 16: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin I agree that they will probably fight on the same side but you said she turns immortal and now you cant leave me hanging Alisha. :D

Alisha Gollihugh OH well at the end of the third book Nora's biological dad is a Nephalim (sorry i don't know how to spell that word) and he knows he is about to die so he does a changing ceremony on Nora and Nora goes along to save her mom I am so sorry if this is a spoiler

message 18: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin Thats ok, I kinda want to know what happens! Was the third book as good as the first 2?

message 19: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Alisha Gollihugh Yes!!! All three books are amazing I could not put any of them down and I dying for the 4th book to come out so I can know what happens I am an addicts of the worst kind when it comes to books :D

message 22: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin So am I! I acually think I read to much but my family says thats impossible. When It comes to books and movies I like all movies even if they are like 1 star. I dont know why I am not picky twoards books and movies or what! :D

Alisha Gollihugh Books are definitely my drug of choice closely followed by music and then movies!! My perfect day is music in the background while curled up with a good book!!

Naoise S Nora's the only girl character who actually had the sense to stop it when he started acting weird! I hate when theres loads of tension for ages! Its so annoying your like either end it or get over it! She actually stood up for herself nd did something bout it! Nd also she mostly did it to protect Patch! She rocks!

message 29: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin I love Nora! She does Rock!

Alisha Gollihugh Yea I like that she was willing to get on with her life instead of dwelling on things that she couldn't control. Nora does rock I like her a lot!!

Molly Aisling wrote: "Nora's the only girl character who actually had the sense to stop it when he started acting weird! I hate when theres loads of tension for ages! Its so annoying your like either end it or get over ..."

She decided she loved him while he was still threatening to kill. He humiliated her, insulted her several times, threatened her, and then said he was going to kill her IIRC, and she still decided she was in love with him. So even if she did leave him for acting weird, she got together him while he was behaving like a psycho.

Seriously, I despise Nora with every part of my brain I am willing to devote to despising a fictional character. She is everything I hate in a heroine. She is bitchy, stupid, hypocritical, whiny, and back handed. She treats people badly, she is constantly slut shaming Marcie, and that's something I can't stand in people. Marcie's sexual organs and what she does with them are none of Nora's concern.

message 32: by Naoise (new) - added it

Naoise S Haha wow you hate her! :P aw i love her! you cant help falling for someone like Patch id say! i couldnt get over how firtaious he was at first i didnt like him much but love them both now! Yeah but she didnt know he was gonna kill her at the time! And boys ALWAYS humiliate and inulst girls! nd we still like em! :P nd top of it all you cant help who you love! hows she bitchy nd hypocritical?? shes only standing up for herself! nd with marcie, marcies the one who keeps coming at nora! so course shes gonna defend herself! Nora rocks!!!! :D

message 33: by Erin (new) - rated it 5 stars

Erin Nora may have pros and cons but I think her pros outnumber hers cons by a lot. She is independednt and when Nora and Patch broke up she didnt sit around the house like some girls in books and cry. She stood up for herselft when Patch was acting weird and wouldnt giver her an explanation. I love Nora!

I completley agree with you 200 percent. Marice is the one with problems and Nora wasnt going to stand there and take it! Nora is amazing!

Thank you!! :D your dead right! Shes not a sucker and all my lifes over! like most girls! shes more realistic! And with a guy like Patch she needed to show a bit of toughness! :P ha i love her too! cant wait for the next one! :D

He wasn't flirtatious, he was sexually harassing her. There is a huuuuuuuuge difference between the two. What makes it even worse is that she felt alarmed enough tot ell her teacher and yet she still fell for him. When you feel in danger or uncomfortable and the person doesn't let up, it's not flirting. Trust me, I've been on the receiving end of this kind of thing. It's not fun, or romantic, it's creepy and it makes you feel sick, and I hope you are never on the receiving end of this kind of "flirting".

Boys do not always humiliate and insult girls, and if the guys you've dated do then you really need to change your type. It is never all right for someone to humiliate you and sexually harass you, ever. It's wrong. If you're in a relationship and they do that to you, it's abuse. There is no justification. Humiliation, sexual harassment, and insults are abuse. Nora's love Patch is borderline Stockholm syndrome.

As for bitchy and hypocritical, her treatment of Marcie. Nora all but has sex with Patch in a public restroom, her best friend is dating Jules for the money, and Nora breaks into someone's house and goes through school records, and she sees nothing wrong with any of that. But Marcie giving blow jobs to a couple of guys makes her shallow, materialistic, whore and a terrible person. Marcie isn't nice, but she's the only one that really gets called out, and it's always on the wrong thing. Call Marcie out for being mean, but don't shame her because she enjoys sex. Girls get enough shit for having the slightest sexual urge. If Nora's hated Marcie this long, she should be able to come up with a better insult than slut shaming.

I don't like characters who are so willing to call out other people on their flaws, but completely ignore their own. I don't like slut shaming. Those things make Nora a bitch in my book.

Naoise S Ok! You clearly have a very strong opinion on this! I only meant that lads are like that at the start, some of em! And i didn't meant to offend or bring up a snesitive issue in any way! :/ i wouldnt read the next book if you hate her so much! ha anyway i love her but i understand if you hate her! :P

I know, and I'm sorry I lashed out at you. You didn't do anything to make me mad, I just sort of over reacted. This is just one of those things I tend to lose my temper about. I've known people who have been treated the way Patch treated Nora is the first book, I've been treated the way Patch treated Nora is the first book, and I hate the idea of it being shown as sexy when it's not. It's one of those things that can leave you feeling humiliated and dirty, and I get freaked out when I see people saying they want someone like Patch.

Also, believe it or not, as much as I hate these characters and their choices, I do enjoy the books on some level. It takes a lot for me to hate a book. Like Halo series, or maybe Eat, Pray, Love level. I can handle reading the series, and I can even things I like about it. It's just Patch and Nora that I despise. Besides, I've read this far, I might as well read the last one.

It's fine. I know you didn't mean to offend and I'm sorry I got offended. I should watch myself more with that. I'm sorry I lashed out. It wasn't nice, and I know you didn't mean to upset me. I'm sorry.

Melissa:
He does get better, but I swear Nora gets worse. It's like neither of them can be kind and intelligent at the same time.

Alisha Gollihugh I don't think Nora gets worse if anything she gets better I mean come on in the second book her entire world is turned upside down because Patch is now Marcie's Guardian Angel Rixion is secretly trying to kill her and make her not trust Patch which he does an awesome job at and then her a whole 3 months is wiped from her brain. If anything she kicks butt because she handles this all very well without wallowing in the fact that she can't remember crap and her mom is hooking up with some new guy!

Alisha Gollihugh And might I add the new guy her mom is knocking boots with is the same guy that had her kidnapped and her sworn enemies dad!!

Alisha Gollihugh Which is really sweet because even though he knows what it is to be a fallen angel he still takes that risk for her

message 46: by Molly (new)

Molly True enough, but I stil thin she gets stupider as the series progresses, and meaner to people. Then again, it's been a little while I've read the books so I am fuzzy. I vividly remember thinking Nora was being an idiot, and that her anemia didn't make sense though.

Alisha Gollihugh Well now that she is no longer human I don't the anemia will have more to play in the book. I think she makes really good choice given the information that she was given at the time.

Molly Alisha wrote: "Well now that she is no longer human I don't the anemia will have more to play in the book. I think she makes really good choice given the information that she was given at the time."

Yeah, the Anemia thing was mostly in the first book where it felt like it was there for plot convenience because it only existed when the plot needed it to.

I forget, did she ever tell her mom about her boyfriend? I remember thinking the mom sucked, but I'm not sure if that's why, or if it was just because she was kind of absentee.
