Its like a movie that had a trailer that spoiled the movie.

Thanks for telling me..I just won't read the back of the cover, assuming I liked the first book that is
We've done The Blade Itself and Lies of Locke Lamora, but I will add Shadow and Lord Foul to the list.
I hereby nominate The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit the first novel in The Wraeththu Series by British author Storm Constantine.
It's a grand epic fantasy much different from the usual fare.

uh oh-we are not gonna start another DOnaldson rant are we????Donaldson is all like taboo to a bunch of folks.....careful Alex!
If I want to read about a rapist Id join a porn site...sorry!
A Shadow in Summeris a good book though!
Read the book and if I remember correctly "it" happens in the first few chapters. I would never discourage anyone from reading anything. And it could make a lively groupread discussion.....Btw, you're new. There are three rants you're bound to run into here. 1. The before mentioned Donaldson. 2. The ever popular Orson Scott Card smackdown. 3. The His Dark Materials debate. Just a friendly warning. Lol.

I personally dislike Donaldsons writing. I tried 3 times to read Lord Fouls Bane as I couldn't work out why everyone raved about it. I did read The Gap into Conflict: The Real Story series, but that was pretty graphic at times.But...... What I wanted to do here was tease Maggie for fun

I have two words to say Maggie
Karsa Orlong
So i'm going to recommend a series mainly because a friend told me to read. I wouldn't normally pick this off a shelf, but she loved it. If I do it in a group read then I'd be more likely to try it. Didn't up sell that much eh?Any way it's Kate Forsyth series, The Witches of Eileanan
I think there s 6 in the series, anyway, something different ;)
