This month we'll do the same as last month and have one group member per book.
I've put myself down for The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón since I suggested it and I'm a geek who bought a bookclub book for this place ;)

The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall
Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie

I am planning to read The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall so I'll volunteer if nobody else wants to?

message 6: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (scheherazade) | 364 comments Mod
I'll do Florence and Giles, if you like. Only if no-one else wants to, though, because I've had my turn :)

What order is everyone reading in? My The Raw Shark Texts arrived this morning so can't decide whether to start that or The Shadow of the Wind or to read Origins while I'm waiting to see what everyone else is doing... Help! lol

message 8: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
How far through are you Amina? I might start it too...

message 9: by Jo (new)

Jo | 592 comments Mod
Amina are you happy to lead on Half of a yellow sun please?

message 10: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
Ok I think I'll follow you then :)

message 11: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
Slow down Amina I need to catch up hehe! Actually it's a really easy read isn't it? I'm enjoying it so far.

Jo | 592 comments Mod
Thank you, there's no rush I'm sure it will take people a while to get round to it

This is probably going to sound rather egocentric but... I offered to do the discussion for The Raw Shark Texts and Sam Lockie has been put as discussion leader, just checking it's not supposed to be me? Cos I didn't see her volunteer. Sorry if I sound bad for this... :S

message 14: by Kirsty (new)

Kirsty (kirkel) | 1162 comments Mod
I'll change it. When you put a name in for discussion leader it only shows first names so that's probably what went wrong:)

message 15: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
No worries I didn't know whether to say anything or not, then I thought well we'll all be waiting if it's supposed to be me lol x

message 16: by Jo (new)

Jo | 592 comments Mod
Oh sorry, yes I just put 'Sam' in forgetting there was 2 of you, durr!

message 17: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
HaHa no worries Jo I just didn't want to seem self important if it wasn't supposed to be me, but I knew the other Sam didn't offer and she didn't have any of the monthly books to read. Didn't want to get to the end of the month without the threads lol. x

message 18: by Jo (new)

Jo | 592 comments Mod
You didn't sound self important at all, thank you for pointing it out x

Sarah (scheherazade) | 364 comments Mod
I'm free to volunteer again, of course, but only if no-one else wants a turn. I don't want to be a hog!

I've read both Under the Dome and To Kill A Mockingbird before, but I'm really looking forward to reading them again :)

One for each book. Ness can do The Waiting Room. It would be good to get a couple of new discussion leaders.

I'm happy to do The Waiting Room, got my copy on it's way from Amazon :)

Under the Dome by Stephen King
To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee

I will do The Waiting Room by F.G. Cottam If I have time.

Ahh but the question is which two? ;)

Luckily my son has just finished To Kill A Mockingbird today, he's studying it for his GCSE ... so I have a copy in the house :) I'll definitely be reading this but starting with The Waiting Room first. I'd love to have chance to read Under the Dome too as I've never read a Stephen King! Not sure if I'll have time to read three though. I think we've got some great titles next month, quite excited :) I hope a lot of us can join in.

Yay for "Cherries being popped" hehe Stephen King is amazing I am reading Cell by Stephen King and I'm loving it :) So good to relax and just allow things to unfold :)

Jo | 592 comments Mod
So Ness is doing The Waiting Room, Becky is doing Under the Dome and Sarah and Sam have volunteered to do either of the other two - is that right? do you want to pick one each to do and add yourselves as discussion leaders?

message 30: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
I am reading Cell by Stephen King at the moment it's about half the size of Under the Dome by Stephen King 500 to the 1000 ;) or check out my Stephen King challenge thread Amina :) If you click on the links they usually say how many pages they are. x

Sam | 577 comments Mod
Don't blame you hun, if you don't have much time in February it's just not an option, maybe some other time :) x

message 32: by Aimee (new)

Aimee (smiley_laydee) | 92 comments Under the dome is 875 pages! Need to finish this months book. Also have 'The Help' waiting on my bookshelf and bought 'Room'because I've wanted to read it for a while now. Might be a bit much at once!!

I can do To Kill A Mockingbird, if you like? I probably won't have time to read The Help as well as this and Under the Dome.

I've managed to add myself, after a bit of confusion. There must be two of us :)

message 34: by Jo (new)

Jo | 592 comments Mod
I can do the Help is no-one else is keen as I read it recently and liked it?

message 35: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
It's up to you Jo... I was just trying to give someone else a chance :)

message 36: by Jo (new)

Jo | 592 comments Mod
mine have a tendency to veer off on a tangent so I will wait and see if someone else volunteers first!

message 37: by Sam (new)

Sam | 577 comments Mod
Snap! You saw my The Raw Shark Texts by Steven Hall hehe x

message 38: by Kirsty (new)

One of you can have To Kill A Mockingbird if you like. I'm just trying to help out, but I honestly don't mind if someone else wants a go :)

HaHaHa I've not been well this week so I'd rather not do one this month if that's ok? If no-one else wants to then I will but yeah... lol

Thank you lovely, I already do :) It just put me back by about 5 days on my reading :s I have The Help too, I managed to find a copy of To Kill A Mockingbird at the library and they called me on Friday to tell me The Waiting Room had come in.
