The Fault in Our Stars
It still feels like more than a book. I mean, I cannot believe that it is just casually sitting on my desk and that I have read it. I love it.(Also, I have a long-standing dislike for dust jackets and I usually wait for the paperback, but TFiOS's cover is beautiful (and shiny xD) as a dust jacket and I'm so glad I didn't wait (and also because of the J-scribble (mine is red) :D), even if I had to take it off to read it because it annoyed me so much. xD
Another page-smeller? Yes! Seriously, I just sat there looking at it for about 10 minutes. Not reading. Just looking. SHEER BEAUTY AND AWESOMENESS.Anyway. The story. Oh my God. I read it a day ago and I still cannot form a coherent review about it - "My thoughts are stars I cannot fathom into constellations."
Oh, Augustus Waters. How attractive you are.
I actually cried at this book. I don't cry at books. I fugging loved this book. I can't get the characters out of my mind. Really freaking amazing book.
Did you watch the new Vlogbrothers video? It makes me exponentially more jealous of everybody who actually gets to go to the tour.
What's that s'posed to mean? You think I still have a double chin? You want a picture of my lonesome chin? LOL
Baby pengins do, and so do the biguns. Sadly, I'm only human. A penguin double chin would be adorable.
Can't you see a penguin, like, teaching himself how to type on a computer, writing masterpeices (haha, riiight, cuz THAT'S what I write) and chatting?I'd like to think if I were a penguin I'd be doing more important things with my life, such as TAKING OVER THE FREE WORLD.
Beautiful. She has a button that links to GR on her channel...I'm so adding her and inviting her to this group.
Yue: That's when they say they might make it into a movie.Don't get too excited--so have LOTS of books that will probably never see the screen. Paper Towns was optioned and John was writing the script. That fell through.
Now, warning over...
OHMIGOSHOHMYGOSHOHMYGOSH!!!
Well, I've gotten to a point where if a movie strays from the book, it's fine, so long as the movie is a GOOD representation of the book.So I'm fine with it being made into a movie, but they damn well better be good to that book, or Colby will not be a very happy Colby...
Was I the only one who was kind of just like *shoulder shrug* at The Perks of Being a Wallflower? I was just not amazed by it...at all.All I can say is, if it's made into a movie, fine, if it's not, fine, too.
I know. I have a total celeb crush on Emma Watson. Her face, her hair, her body...she's about as perfect as a human can be LOL
i just finished TFiOS!! i was crying so hard!!! amazing!(it was my first john green book, so i can't compare) one of my favorite books!!!!
anyways, LOTR's adaption was great (i'm biased though, since i'm a fan) but i strayed a lot from the book. i'm really excited for the hunger games. but i have a feeling that if the make a move of TFiOS, it'll stray from the book a bit.
(i love emma watson too!!!)
Aussie accents are essentially just hick versions of English accents. English accents on a girl are sexy. So are lots of accents, though, southern...mmm.
There are signed copies left in my town, though I think I have checked most stores and there are no Hanklerfish to be found, but that's fine as I got my Hanklerfish at the Tour de Nerdfighting stop in Atlanta. In other news, TFiOS is my favorite John Green book, followed by Katherines and Will Grayson x2. I don't think I would fancy it as a movie though because when you have a book written in first person I worry that something important will be lost in the movie because you don't get to hear the main character's thoughts, I mean, it is fine when you have read the book because you can fill in the blanks but for those that don't read it first, they get the short end of the stick and that is usually when annoying fanpeople are born. You know, the ones that love the movies to obsession but have no idea of the glory and brilliance that is the book.
There's still lots of signed copies around here. We aren't a huge John Green powerhouse or anything. I SHALL RESUME THE SEARCH.
IDK that that influx of fake nerdfighters would happen. I can't see the movie being very popular amongst non-nerdfighters, tbh.
Hahaha...I guess you never know though. We'd be like those annoying Twilight girls who are like, I KNEW JOHN GREEN BEFORE THE TFiOS MOVIE!!!
I have this French The Llamma poster as the bg on my laptop, and everytime my friends see it, they're like o.O
~Yue~ [Starless Nights Will Cover Day] wrote: ":o YOU'RE LUCKYYY."Oh, it's just like, I right clicked and put 'set as background'. so, it's not that lucky. It's, like, free.
*gets on deviantart to look*ACTUALLY, I have two users on my laptop, one that I use for everyday, and one for debate (because I don't want the debate half to get cluttered) and the debate one's the one with the FTL poster. On my user, it's this picture that I took of Prowler at Worlds of Fun that I'm quite proud of :)
Finished. @ Colby: Lol, or you could embark on an totally epikk road trip with your sidekick to find one and then write a book about it.
(I love this thread to much not to post)I just finished TFiOS, I'm also happy that it was licensed to be made into a move, but maybe it'll be like Paper Towns and never made into a movie

YES! I totally love road trip books. I need to get back to writing the one I'm writing at the moment...
Colby I'll read that book.. :)@ Emily: I think it would be portrayed as a Lifetime movie in Hollywood, though if captured by the right producer it could be wonderfully epikk. Yet, I think the chances of success are slim, it would become a hit none-the-less because of all the supporting nerdfighteria.
DUDE YUE YUE I JUST WROTE LIKE 1K! (view spoiler)So that's exciting. I'm getting to the funnn part, which should easily turn this into my first ever completed novel sized novel.
DON'T YOU DARE EVER EVER LET ME STOP WRITING THIS. NO MATTER HOW THAT LITTLE DEALIO WE'RE DISCUSSING GOES. I NEED TO KEEP WRITING.
Just for fun, really. But yes, I am.I'll give you the link for figment because I'm much too lazy to get the GR link and figment's open in another tab...
http://figment.com/books/207872-En-Ro...
It's still a novel, though, so NOVELISTS UNITE!BTW, go write Who I Am more. I want to reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad it. And let me know on Figment when you update it.
(I love how we, like, actually use the talk nerdy to me topic to chat and not other topics like this...XD )
Oh and I am throwing Nerdfighteria into this next chapter. It's *not so subtly* hinted at in one sentence, but never really talked about.
the fault in our starts is a villainous book... it calls you from the distant and tells you " stop doing math homework read me ! read me!" and so i did so now i have finish these wonderful, awesome (there are not enough good adjectives to describe this book) but i have a ton of math homework to do...

Well, that's probably an exaggeration, but still.
