I have this book, but haven't read it yet, along with quite a few others. I hope to get to them soon, but I tend to read my library books before my owned books, even when my owned books are cookbooks. I love Robin G. Robertson's books too.

She's one of my favourite cookbook authors too. And it's truly amazing that she can produce so many new recipes, so frequently.
Don, the Indonesian tofu dish looks really yummy. I'm curious, do you cook new recipes every day? Lately I've just been making really simple food without recipes but I do enjoy cooking from my books.
I think it's great you try so many recipes. If I were only cooking for myself and my tastes, I would definitely be more adventurous but I'm limited to less exotic or spicy fare because of the family.
I didn't use to be as creative but now find I can whip up lots of easy dinners without consulting my cookbooks. I do get stuck in a rut though so it's always nice to try new dishes.

Don wrote: "Carb Conscious Vegetarian - Crispy tarragon tofu strips with mushrooms, lemon, and capers..."Sounds super yummy !
I hadn't heard of Robin Robertson and her cookbooks before Don started posting here, but I would love to start trying them out. I wish I could be as disciplined as Don .... Don, I admire that you spend so much time trying out new recipes and cooking on your days off. It sounds like a true labor of love, and I feel very grateful that you choose to share the fruits of your labor with us ... with pictures and all !
THANK YOU, Don!
And please keep it up !!!
Avidly reading,
Rachel
Don, I love the recipes in VegNews. I read that publication cover to cover; it's my favorite magazine.
I made a dish from Quick-Fix Vegetarian: Healthy Home-Cooked Meals in 30 Minutes or Less I added it here because I don't understand why she has this book, which is all vegan, and Quick Fix Vegan. Anyway...I made Chickpea and Tomato Soup with Ditalini. It actually took under 30 minutes to make! Yippee! I used a 28-oz can of diced tomatoes instead of 15-oz of crushed tomatoes, and instead of ditalini I used orzo, because that is what I had. This was an ok soup. We liked it and enjoyed our dinner, but we probably won't make this one again.
From Quick-Fix Vegetarian:Ginger sesame noodles with broccoli
From the time I put the water on to boil to the time dinner was on the table was about 45 minutes. The kids were losing their minds by the time they ate, but it was totally worth it because even the insane picky eater gobbled it up! I used whole wheat noodles and left out the red pepper flakes.

Agree with Rachel. Yum! I'm glad everybody liked this dish. I would do whole wheat as well, but given that I don't have to cook for young children, and that I like spicy food, the red pepper flakes would stay in.
Don wrote: "Island black bean soup with quick mango salsa - This uncomplicated dish is a very flavorful combination. Putting the salsa on top is a very good idea and combines well with the beans. I cut back ..."Don... always making me hungry!
Don, I want to make the above! (Actually, a lot of the photos/recipes you're posting look wonderful.)
Hey, if it's tasty, who can complain?! Also, I love dishes children can make, either on their own or as part of a cooking project with adults. A dish like this would be ideal to include if an entire meal is being made and one or more dishes, such as a baked dessert are more complicated and a dish is wanted to include that doesn't take a lot of time and effort and skill.
