Some people on the internet say that Limewire is illegal and gives your computer viruses and stuff, but I don't really believe that. I use it myself, and I haven't gotten any viruse. My friends are all like, "I can hack your computer!" and there are Youtube videos that show you how, but I really don't buy that. What do you guys think?

um... maybe I'm completely brain-dead, but what exactly is Limewire?
it's this program you can use to upload/download music...Well, it's DEFINITELY illegal to upload copyrighted music (really just anything you didn't make yourself)....
I'm pretty sure (as in don't take my word on this) that downloading it is legal, as long as you don't sell it or hand out a lot of copies of it...)
And I really have no clue whatsoever about the whole hacking thing....... no idea how that works... but it's def. possible.
its not as bad as some other programs out there though yes limewire is illegal in the us but its legal in other countries which is why theres a website
i get all my music from itunes because its only 99 cents a song
but no they cant hack your computer unless lime wires hub gets hacked.
It would make sense if people could learn to hack on youtube. But honestly, how many people can really understand and then carry out all the diretions in order to do so? Most people I know can't do anything with technology that requires more than pushing a button. (I know, I'm one of them.) So yeah, they could probably learn how to hack. The question is, could they actually use the information to do it?
Limewire IS illegal. And it DOES give your computer viruses. I installed it on my computer once because there was one song I absolutely had to find, and I couldn't find it anywhere (long story...), and just from downloading that one song my computer got a not-so-bad virus, and it started running really slowly. Thankfully I took it off before it did anything worse. Just because it hasn't done anything to your computer YET doesn't mean that it won't ever in the future. I'd take limewire off the computer if I were you!! I know it's a lot more convenient to just download music instead of buying it, but it's just not a good idea.
limw wire doesnt give mac viruses no one can its to expensive so unless your like me and you have an AWESOME mac you will get viruses
