I think one of my favorite characters is Halt from the Ranger's Apprentice series. One of the things I love about him and a lot of the characters in that series is their sarcasm and differing personalities. They care about each other but also know their duty. At a certain point though, loyalty will trump duty to their king if necessary. But they would never betray him.
My fav caracter would be Lionblaze from the Worrior seires, The New prophesy and Omen of the stars. His unyeilding loyalty to his clan is impressive and how he never can get injured in battle.
Warrior series? As in Erin Hunter? I read the first book, but my daughter has read them all. She loves them.
Okay, I just finished Rereading The Hunger Games series and I have to add Peeta to my list of favorite chracteers. He just has forever underlying gentleness that is just so sweet. He is just so.....good. Even after everything that happens to him, he's still good and nothing seems able to really wipe that part of him away, unlike some of the other characters whose trauma is so severe and who have been through to much that they're not the good people they once were. They're broken and while Peeta is too, he still maintained the best parts of himself if you ask me.
I thought the last book was well played. War breaks everybody--both the good and the bad. It was interesting to see how each person handled their brokenness.
Yes, it was. Although, the one thing I didn't think made much sense was when Katniss agreed to another Hunger Games. Haymitch and Johanna I understand but the whole reason Katniss did everything she did was to end them
Are you talking about the end of the last book? When the new leader said to have one more Hunger Games for revenge against the leading class?
*SPOILER ALERT*
I believe it was because Katniss knew at that moment that the new leader had to be stopped. If the leader thought she had Katniss's support, she'd never expect her to turn that arrow on her.

I've never considered that before Rita. I guess it just doesn't seem like that from the times I've read it.Yes, I understand why she said yes, Kriss, but I just didn't think it was the right move on the author's part. It just made everything the whole series is about invalid.
Kriss wrote: "she was looking for a bit of revenge and closure..."
I really didn't think she wanted revenge. It was totally out of character for her motivations throughout the whole book, and ... (view spoiler)
But at the same time, the author left out that one bit of motivation. Maybe it was because Katniss was still reeling from all that had happened. I don't know.
P.S. I love that spoiler feature!

I think I got the last one in the omen of the stars series, possibly the last warriors book ever: The Last Hope. I've been waiting for that one. Nasuesue have you read The Seekers and The Survivors. I hope someday all of those books would intertwine someday. A meeting of Bears, Dogs, and Cats.
