I've decided to move Stories to the group 'read' shelf to make room for January's 4 group reads.

There are at least 12 members who have copies but the participation hasn't been what I'd hoped & TBH I don't think that the stories themselves warrant long discussion threads. If you read any that we haven't covered feel free to start a thread.

I do like having an ongoing short story collection as part of our group reads. It's nice to dip in and out of and easy for members to participate in if they don't have the time to read one of our books of the month or to serve as a gap filler. It also introduces the reader to authors that they may not have encountered otherwise and might help them to come unstuck. For these reasons I would like us to choose another short story collection - any suggestions (or any you happen to come across) suggest them here. As long as the book is by a variety of authors then it's good to go.

I found this the other day We Others New and Selected Stories by Steven Millhauser but it's by one author and doesn't count and this a few months ago Hotel Angeline A Novel in 36 Voices by Elizabeth George but it doesn't count because it isn't short stories but multiple authors - I think that's all I've really found though

The Weird A Compendium of Dark and Strange Fictions by Ann VanderMeer

Didn't Sarah see this one in a bookstore somewhere and a few people, myself included took an interest? I could be wrong...

This is a shorter one only 3 stories I think... Night's Edge by Maggie Shayne

or this?
The World's Greatest Short Stories (Thrift Edition) by James Daley
