I have read "what ahppened to Cass Mccbride"... really good but weird. You may want to check out feedback on it before you read it...
"shutter island" i have not read but a lot of people love.
"Geralds Game" by stephen king is very dirty but deffinitely a pychological book."
"under the dome" by stephen king is good, it is about an invisible dome that closes around a small town trapping the people in... gory but interesting how the characters respond:) i wont give away what they end up doing...
if you google pychological thrillers you can find some good books and movies... i hope this helps! :-)

At the risk of possibly annoying some people, I'll go ahead and plug my own book, Canis Major. It's definitely a psychological thriller. Told mostly through a male teenage protagonist's point of view, I get into the characters' heads and let their thoughts flow out onto the pages, all while their worlds fall apart around them. The plot centers around a rabies scare in a small Alabama town. For a non-plug suggestion: you can't go wrong with John Fowles's The Collector.
I loove psychological thrillers. I read them and write them. My favorite thriller of all time is "Misery". I've re-read it four times... I think. I also really enjoyed Dolores Claiborne. My passion for the genre started with the movie "Single, white woman". I think it was great.
Hey, I plugged my own book too. It comes out this October 11th. I had to when I saw you guys liked Stephen King's stuff. He has been a rather large inspiration to me. I'm hoping you guys will check it out. Also, hop on that GoodReads giveaway! Might as well try and win a paperback. :)
Hello :)While I'm not entirely sure what is/isn't a psychological thriller, I think that's what I like to read. Listed here I've enjoyed Gerald's Game, Under The Dome, Dolores Claiborne.... Misery not quite so much, but that was a long time ago and I might have been 'King'd out' then, I did devour them ;)
Canis Major sounds good, I must see if it's available in audio which is how I read. I haven't got to The Collector yet though have it on a TBR list and intend adding Cass McBride.
While I'm unsure if they are actually psychological thrillers (how can you tell??), books I've enjoyed lately are Gillian Flynn's three Sharp Objects, Dark Places and Gone Girl. I also enjoy Linwood Barclay, Lionel Shriver and Jennifer McMahon, to name a few.
I'll enjoy keeping an eye out for more suggestions :)
I'd have to recommend one I read about a month ago. Red LoryIt's a quick read, but it's a book I've read three times so far. The story is enjoyable, and it has messed with my mind ever since. I can't say enough about it. I think it's now my favorite psychological thriller. Before, I would have told you The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. Red Lory is much simpler and left me thinking for a longer time.
