Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Finished A Princess of Mars

Trying to get through A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court but may put it on the back burner for now.

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) Did you enjoy A Princess of Mars? I liked it despite it being dated and highly pulpy.

message 10: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I did like it. I have plans to continue the series. There was a lot of action and the story kept moving and didn't drag. Yes, I certainly did like it.

message 11: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) I enjoyed those aspects also. I read it after seeing the film which I enjoyed as a whole production despite some parts that had me a little confused.

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Looking forward to seeing John Carter. I noticed there was another movie made before that one, though, called A Princess of Mars. Is that the one you saw? Or John Carter?

message 13: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) John Carter, not the old films based on it. The new film was a great action film but the plot is quite different and yet still enjoyable.

message 14: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) I figured it would be. For one, they are not naked. lol. Plus the role of the women wasn't PC in the book.

message 15: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Started Jane Eyre today.

message 16: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Finished Jane Eyre.

message 17: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) Did you like Jane Eyre?

message 18: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Yes, I did. I didn't expect to since it is so well loved but I did. It wasn't a perfect 5 star though.

message 19: by Jonathan (new)

Jonathan Terrington (thewritestuff) Fair enough.

message 20: by Pamela(AllHoney) (new)

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Finished 4 of my 12 classics for the year. Last one read was Anne of Green Gables. I am considering continuing the series.
