Brad (judekyle) I know almost everyone here loves Drizzt, but there must be a book in the series you like the least. So which one and why?

message 2: by [deleted user] (new)

Spine of the world. I could never pull through that one. It was ridiculous, the others would take me a couple days at most because I was able to get into them and finish them off. But that was the only one that just... dragged on and on.

message 3: by Olin (new)

Olin | 113 comments me to "sotw" but i find that the story of how wulfgar got colson and dellie is important too.

message 4: by [deleted user] (new)

It was. That was why you had to read it. Or I would have just skipped it. But of course it was a necessity.

message 5: by Eliza (new)

Eliza (la_miss) | 42 comments I have to agree. I kept stopping and texting my supplier, asking him "WTfudge does Lord Farquad have to do with the whole series?!" And the whole "woe is me!" Wulfgar was getting on my nerves - ugh! I prefer to see him kicking arse :oD

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

agreed, "D

That's also quite true, imagine yourself being tortured in every possible way. Not surprised his live was made into a living hell.

message 9: by Olin (new)

Olin | 113 comments thanks for the spoiler

message 10: by [deleted user] (new)

Crap! sorry! I thought you read that book!

message 11: by Olin (new)

Olin | 113 comments wait, wrong disscustion... sorry

message 12: by [deleted user] (new)

oh, okay then.

message 13: by Eliza (new)

Eliza (la_miss) | 42 comments true true but it was still a drag!

message 14: by Rustyford (new)

Rustyford | 12 comments I am so with you on sotw. There is no way I could get through that one again. That book could have been 1/3 its length and gotten the point across.

message 15: by Shawn (new)

Shawn | 13 comments Although it was co-written by R.A. Salvatore and his son, Geno, I think The Stowaway deserves to be mentioned here. Like the Spine of the World, it is not a bad book, but it is clearly a book that is providing information for other stories. It did not inspire me to sit down and read it through in one sitting like so many of his books do.

message 16: by [deleted user] (new)

The Stone of Tymora does tie into The Pirate King so it must have some relevance to the series.

message 17: by Zachary (new)

Zachary (zacharymmkay) I am struggling to get through 'Siege of Darkness'...ugh

message 18: by Ben (new)

Ben i dont like that one book about that one thing it was very confusing

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

...I think I just became confused by that sentence itself.

message 20: by Ben (new)

Ben lol i havent read ne of the drizzt books

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

Really? I'm sorry,

Michael Dolan Zachary wrote: "I am struggling to get through 'Siege of Darkness'...ugh"
huh. i thought it was one of his best books... but they're all really good, so :P.

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

I think that so far transitions is probably his best books.

message 25: by Olin (new)

Olin | 113 comments "siege of darkness" was the first drizzt book that i bought with my own money, plus it was the first hardback book i bought new. i thought then (and still do) that it was a good buy.

message 26: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments I honestly have to agree it was epic. i personally thought it was one of the best but i liked... i cant remember which one was it when regis was taken by artemis to pasha pooks?? i like that one alot good fighting and suspense.

message 27: by Olin (new)

Olin | 113 comments the halfling's gem

message 28: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments Yes ok thank you that was my personal favorite.

message 29: by [deleted user] (new)

16 more days until Ghost king is released!!

message 30: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments Haha cant wait will be amazing i hope. How many more books is he even doing on Drizzt? cant be more then three at the most after this one right or is his son taking up the responsibility?

message 31: by [deleted user] (new)

....I really don't know. Because Catti-brie dies, Bruenor IS dying in the orc king and you don't really know if... he's gonna keep on going or what. So who knows.

message 32: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments I ... dont know i mean Catti-brie is what 38 39? shes getting old and bruenor is getting his share in age maybe hell finish it in ghost king or he'll make one more final blow out well just have to wait and see. and also wulfgars gone too...

message 33: by [deleted user] (last edited Sep 21, 2009 02:42PM) (new)

For sure Wulfgar's gone. His ending was in the Pirate king, as well as Deudermonts.

message 34: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments I know When Deudermont died i was like Wow he cant be deaad hes Deudermont i was really sad at that part. Yea Salvatore's definatly winding down in this story and hes doing so very well. i wonder if catti-brie and drizzt will ever have children i doubt it at this point but im hoping hell do that in the last drizzt book. it would make for a great ending and such.

message 35: by Clint (new)

Clint (uncleclinto) | 2 comments SOTW... terribly painful... not my style... here here everything else said so far. ..."Gabby Johnson is right..."

message 36: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments I hated it was so boring i felt like just going to the end but i couldnt pull myself to do so ya know?

message 37: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't think Drizzt and Catti-brie ever did because in the prologue to the orc king it never mentions Drizzt ever having children.

message 38: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments I know it hasnt been mentioned so far but im hoping it will happen sometime if at all within the ghost king or afterwards... I dont know im just hoping something happens with them.

message 39: by Olin (last edited Sep 25, 2009 07:20PM) (new)

Olin | 113 comments what if Drizzt and Liriel Baenre hook up in the future? you know after Catti-Brie is dead for a while.

message 40: by [deleted user] (new)

Liriel?? .... I don't know.... I can't imagine, really... But at the beginning of Orc King it shows rebellious dwarves against the orc kingdom. So... maybe there's something to do with Obould IV?? I don't know.

message 41: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments Wow i really doubt it but its possible. UUmm sorry but remind me who liriel is? was she the first daughter of Baenre that took up being matron?

message 42: by Olin (new)

Olin | 113 comments no she is Gromph's daughter. read the daughter of the drow by elaine cunningham

message 43: by Stephen light (new)

Stephen light | 62 comments Ok thanks.

message 44: by Alexander (new)

Alexander Draganov (darthsparhawk) I loved the early novels, The Dark Elf trilogy, The Icewind Dale Trilogy and the Legacy series. The rest are solid, but not as fun IMO, although I am yet to read "Hunter's Blade" trilogy. But I think that it is time for Drizzt to get into a really epic, realy big adventure, something with deities and monstrous plots...something like the Darkwalker on Moonshae, but on steroids!

message 45: by Daniel (new)

Daniel | 1 comments I dont have a least fravorite Drizzt book. Because everyone of them were great and well written.

yup i second your thoughts :) hi sharon why do u like Spine of the world? it was awkward in style.

message 48: by Emill (new)

Emill Shavoz (shavoz) | 2 comments Spine of the World hands down. I just don't care about Wulgar at all. He is such a throw away character to me that to have a book based on his trouble was pointless. Salvatore could of told me this whole story in one of his short stories.

message 49: by Ireth (new)

Ireth Seregon (irethmonica) | 14 comments Yuck Wulfgar! Salvatore intended him to be the main character, but he sucks

Hey Daniel, really? how about the new volumes with Dahlia?
