I know almost everyone here loves Drizzt, but there must be a book in the series you like the least. So which one and why?

Spine of the world. I could never pull through that one. It was ridiculous, the others would take me a couple days at most because I was able to get into them and finish them off. But that was the only one that just... dragged on and on.
It was. That was why you had to read it. Or I would have just skipped it. But of course it was a necessity.
I have to agree. I kept stopping and texting my supplier, asking him "WTfudge does Lord Farquad have to do with the whole series?!" And the whole "woe is me!" Wulfgar was getting on my nerves - ugh! I prefer to see him kicking arse :oD
That's also quite true, imagine yourself being tortured in every possible way. Not surprised his live was made into a living hell.
Crap! sorry! I thought you read that book!
I am so with you on sotw. There is no way I could get through that one again. That book could have been 1/3 its length and gotten the point across.
Although it was co-written by R.A. Salvatore and his son, Geno, I think The Stowaway deserves to be mentioned here. Like the Spine of the World, it is not a bad book, but it is clearly a book that is providing information for other stories. It did not inspire me to sit down and read it through in one sitting like so many of his books do.
The Stone of Tymora does tie into The Pirate King so it must have some relevance to the series.
...I think I just became confused by that sentence itself.
Zachary wrote: "I am struggling to get through 'Siege of Darkness'...ugh"huh. i thought it was one of his best books... but they're all really good, so :P.
I think that so far transitions is probably his best books.
"siege of darkness" was the first drizzt book that i bought with my own money, plus it was the first hardback book i bought new. i thought then (and still do) that it was a good buy.
I honestly have to agree it was epic. i personally thought it was one of the best but i liked... i cant remember which one was it when regis was taken by artemis to pasha pooks?? i like that one alot good fighting and suspense.
16 more days until Ghost king is released!!
Haha cant wait will be amazing i hope. How many more books is he even doing on Drizzt? cant be more then three at the most after this one right or is his son taking up the responsibility?
....I really don't know. Because Catti-brie dies, Bruenor IS dying in the orc king and you don't really know if... he's gonna keep on going or what. So who knows.
I ... dont know i mean Catti-brie is what 38 39? shes getting old and bruenor is getting his share in age maybe hell finish it in ghost king or he'll make one more final blow out well just have to wait and see. and also wulfgars gone too...
For sure Wulfgar's gone. His ending was in the Pirate king, as well as Deudermonts.
I know When Deudermont died i was like Wow he cant be deaad hes Deudermont i was really sad at that part. Yea Salvatore's definatly winding down in this story and hes doing so very well. i wonder if catti-brie and drizzt will ever have children i doubt it at this point but im hoping hell do that in the last drizzt book. it would make for a great ending and such.
SOTW... terribly painful... not my style... here here everything else said so far. ..."Gabby Johnson is right..."
I hated it was so boring i felt like just going to the end but i couldnt pull myself to do so ya know?
I don't think Drizzt and Catti-brie ever did because in the prologue to the orc king it never mentions Drizzt ever having children.
I know it hasnt been mentioned so far but im hoping it will happen sometime if at all within the ghost king or afterwards... I dont know im just hoping something happens with them.
what if Drizzt and Liriel Baenre hook up in the future? you know after Catti-Brie is dead for a while.
Liriel?? .... I don't know.... I can't imagine, really... But at the beginning of Orc King it shows rebellious dwarves against the orc kingdom. So... maybe there's something to do with Obould IV?? I don't know.
Wow i really doubt it but its possible. UUmm sorry but remind me who liriel is? was she the first daughter of Baenre that took up being matron?
I loved the early novels, The Dark Elf trilogy, The Icewind Dale Trilogy and the Legacy series. The rest are solid, but not as fun IMO, although I am yet to read "Hunter's Blade" trilogy. But I think that it is time for Drizzt to get into a really epic, realy big adventure, something with deities and monstrous plots...something like the Darkwalker on Moonshae, but on steroids!

Spine of the World hands down. I just don't care about Wulgar at all. He is such a throw away character to me that to have a book based on his trouble was pointless. Salvatore could of told me this whole story in one of his short stories.
