That is an impossible choice. I love all the characters in all of the books. But if i had to choocse one I would have to pick Infernal Devices because the love triangle is just amazing and because I can really relate to Tessa. But i still love the Mortal Instruments.

I prefer The Infernal Devices because I got tired of the Clary/Jace love issues in The Mortal Instruments. I really love Jem and Will and the setting of The Infernal Devices better too.
I like both series a lot but my favorite has to be ID because the setting is intersting and Jem is really cool.
Hmm i think cassandra's clockwork prince was her best book so far it was so developed so i have to say ID
The Mortal Instruments Series :) I love everything about this series :) The plot, the characters...
ID because it captivates me more! I find myself awaiting the sequel for ID more than I wait for MI. BUT I STILL LOVE MI and still am patiently waiting for CoLS
Although I read MI first I love the Infernal Devices series a little more I just love the setting, the way they talk and of course the characters (especially Jem) :)
yes Tessa is just amazing where as clary can be a bitch, and will has a reason for being a jerk but jace after the first two books i just didnt see any reasoning for him being a jerk ( but i still love him) and in ID i understand why characters do the things they do
MORTAL INSTRUMENTS ALL THE WAY! but, don't get me wrong- i absolutely love the ID series, but MI stole my heart first! i will always love the story of Jace and Clary and it will always be my favorite! though, like many of you said, i do sometimes like Tessa better than Clary... but as for the male characters, I'm sorry Will, but Jace WILL always no matter what be my favorite!! <3

hmmmm....let's see. I would have to choose Infernal Devices. I love the Mortal Instruments but Fallen Angels could have a lot better. That and I just think Infernal Devices is amazing.
Infernal Devices because its Victorian, and I love the language they use 'cause it sounds so sophisitated and still really funny! Tessa and Will and Jem are really witty and funny. I still LOVE TMI though. KILL DEMONS!!!! ANd Valentine!!!!
Mortal instruments i just love the characters more in that series not that i dont like the ID characters just not the biggest Victorian Era fan that part is kinnda blah for me
i would have to say ID (my favourite series ever) obviously because will is in it :D haahaa :D i prefer the setting and era and stuff in ID better than MI. Also, i prefer tessa to clary... But of course i still love MI :D i love simon, he's epic xD but yeah, it has to be infernal devices :D
Well... kind of tough to decide. I love both. But now there's only 2 books on ID so it doesn't really give me as much sparks as when I read TMI. So... Mortal instruments! (For now)
MI all the way Jace and clary keep things interesting I like the ID too but not as much as MI she could keep the story going on forever and I would still be reading to see what is coming between jace and clary lol
I love both series so much but my favorite is TMI. I love Jace more than I love Will. I also am more interested on the whole Jace-Sebastian than the Will-Tessa-Jem and the Tessa-Mortmain thing.
I would have to say Mortal Instruments. I love ID, but Tessa bothers me a bit. She's so naive. As far as Jace and Will, i love them both! I love Jace's sense of humor and sarcasm, and Will's brooding good looks, and both of their past hurts that make them more mysterious and hard to get to know...i have no idea who i would choose if faced with real manifestations of the characters though. I adore Jem, but more in the way i adore my best friend. And Simon, Magnus, and Luke deffinately add to why the scales tilt in favor of the MI.
I love both series. Cassandra Clare is such a great author. I can't really pick because they're both amazing. And I love all the characters.
It's a hard choose but The Infernal Devices.I connect with the characters more and the love triangle is one of the best I have come across.How can you pick?!
the infernal devices. with the love triangle in the mortal instrument, you just always new clary was going to end up with jace, so i was fine with simon and clary for a while. ****SPOILER**** whan jem got engaged to tessa i died! tessa has to end up with will!

I hate hard choices because i both love and adore cassie's MI and ID BUT i gotta follow my heart and be honest w/ ya. I prefer "The Infernal Devices" more because the love triangle between Will/Tessa and Jem is very intense and at the same time, It causes me alot of pain in the ass. Every single words/qoutes/phrases in the book takes my breath away! I love the twist of the story and it gives me rain in my eyes everytime i witness Will's pain and how he would do ANYTHING for tessa. He didn't care if its his own death or not.

I love both, they are sooo different! I have to say though... I love ID a little insy bit more than MI, the reason being mostly cause I love books set in the victorian era. The era is so magical! Also I love WIll.... dare I say a little more than Jace! :) Oh and the LOVE TRIANGLE! OH! I gotta say usually these YA triangles are repetitive and cliche. They aren't usually TRIANGLES but a V shaped thing where two people loved the same person. Whereas in ID Will and Jem love each other as much as they both love Tessa and tessa loves them both equally in different ways- her love for will is passionate but she loves Jem just as much but its more steady.
The story is more personal- love, family, loss! Whereas MI is more about action and saving the world from burning down, its more epic. (sure there's the magister, but CP1 especially focuses more on the other things. Some may love MI for its epic-ness but I personally love the whole personal aspect of ID.
Though the thing I love about MI is it has more characters and subplots. You gotta love the whole
Izzy X Simon, Magnus X Alec, And Jordan X Mia subplots. And the story is told from a different perspectives. But ID outweighs that... by like a one milligram :)

owh this is a tough one.. the 1st book i read out of the two series was CoFA. I loved it mostly because of Simon. I think its the 1st series that Im not fond of the main character, Jace. well aside from twilight. but then again i dont read twilight. I just saw the 1st movie and that was it. well anyway.while waiting for CoLS out, I read TID books. I loved it too. I hate Tess for being so indecisive. but then again its the element that made me want to read more. I love both series. TID or TMI? TID I guess.

Well I just started TID and have finished TMI so Idk which one i like best xD i need to read it all first XD
Mortal Instruments is the perfect, perfect, perfect, series for me! It's all I want, baby, and it's all I need.
That's a tough one ... i love both ,MI it kind of stole my heart first and I can't wait for more,the story line is epic,relationships like Jordan&Maia,Magnus&Alec etc. are amazing and so is Jace,the series always leave me breathless and wanting more xD although i like the victorian setting the love triangle and how it all turns out in the end,ID is fantastic but I have to say my choice is MI ;)

And ID is pretty amazing. Will is great, just not equal to Jace in my heart.

This such a tough Choice. I Love Jace <3 and all the characters In Mortal instruments + all the action but I also Love Will <3 and TID has such a good love triangle. Unlike most Love triangles Will and Jem actually like each other and don't let a girl get in the way of their friendship. So although I love both series and fell in love with them and the characters as soon as i read them I'd have to say The infernal devices is my favorite <3

Not like a V shape!

It is! <3 I Just love how she wrote the triangle Where they all have a relationship with each other, instead of 2 people fighting for one person, It just makes it sadder! It makes it hard not to like Jem :) Lol even though I Love Will <3
