Ummmm maybe? His last name is weird, he played with Chick Corea and those folk. Did a monster funk version of the song from the Peanuts cartoons. Very cool. Also was the drummer on the aids bennefit album "West Side Story" for the Chick Corea side of the rumble. Chicks band was panned hard left playing jazz, Steve Vai's "gang" was hard right playing rock. They would pan back and forth in a musical simulation of a gang fight. It also featured Brian Setzer doing "The Jet Song" Patti Labelle doing "America" and Little Richard of all people doing "I feel Pretty". Long story short, Dave might not be a great drummer, but he's done some neat shit. ;-)BTW Approved your myspace invite. I apparantly invited the wrong Vicki. Two Vicki Jeans in Seattle? Whod've thunk it? Not to worry, when Nick finishes "Bad Neighbor" we'll lay seige to the other one...
Favorite drummer? Billy Cobham, no question. I saw him live in... must have been 81 or 82 given where I was living at the time... unbefreakin'lievable. The triple-bass thing still blows me away.Other than that...
(how many drum machine jokes can I make? But I did really like Broadrick's programming in Godflesh and Albini's in Big Black...)
John Silver/Phil Collins/Chester Thompson (Genesis)
Cozy Powell (Rainbow, et al.)
Par Hjulstrom (Amaran)
Carl Palmer (duh)
Jens Hoglin and the rest of Garmarna's percussionists
Atkins and Rieflin (Ministry/Pigface; Atkins from Public Image Ltd. and Rieflin currently in R.E.M.)
and yeah, I'll second good ol' Philthy Animal...
Jean-Paul Gaster (Clutch)
EDIT: I cannot freakin' believe I forgot about the guys from Sikhara.
and a hundred more... I used to be a drummer, it's what I notice...
What no...Vinnie Paul [Pantera, Damageplan, Rebel Meets Rebel, Hellyeah:].
Or
Igor Cavelera [Sepultura, Cavalera Conspiracy:]

Homeless.
What's the difference betwen a drummer and a large pizza?
A large pizza can feed a family of four.
Ok, how about Dave Wenkl? Not bad for a percussionist...
