If you like Tymber Dalton you will love Joey W Hill. She writes paranormal/contemperery romance/erotica/BDSM. She has 4 series right now. She is starting another series the first book "Something About Witches" comes out Feb 7th. She also has quite a few stand alone books. Her stories are even more capativating. Give them a try. You won't be sorry.
@ Jessica : I have the first one on my kindle. you are about the 6th person to recommend these so I'm definitely gonna have to read them!@ Terry : I've never of Joey W Hill but I'm going to go check out her work - thank you :)
Please keep the recommendations coming if you have them - thanks guys!
I forgot about Joey W. Hill. Kink and Kink..
Try Elizabeth Amber "Lords of Satyr. Not BDSM but paranormal Kink.
Sevin comes out in May
Or Sunny "Monere'" again not BDSM but Sex and Sex and more Sex.
Also the "Demon Princess Chronicles"
will have to check all these out!!are the above very emotional stories? or just kinky?
I'll take emotions over kink, but preferably both together :)
And I don't care if the story is BDSM or not, or paranormal or contemporary... I just want one that will really make me FEEL
i've not read Joey W. Hills Vampire books, but her nature of desire books - i've gotten fairly emotionally invested in the characters...the first book is Holding The Cards - however they can be read out of order with the exception of Ice Queen and Mirror of My Soul which follow each other with the same characterstymber dalton's other books are all emotional reads - Safe Harbor; More Than Make-Believe (m/m); Love at First Bight
Aestas if you want emotion and kink it is definately Joey W Hill. The Vampire Queen series is outstanding that is the one I started with. She just finished her Knights of the Boardroom series. Hostile Takeover. Master Ben's story laughed, cried had to open the window (its in the 30's - 50 deg F here. lol The Nature of Desire series is great. Love all the characters the way they all become like family there is kind of a third book to go with Ice Queen and Mirror of My Soul, Branded Sanctuary. The Daughters of Arianne Series is also one I think you would like. A couple of my fav stand alones are Make Her Dreams Come True and Chance of a Lifetime. If you decide to give them a try would love to know what you think.
They all have a good story. And it's an actual story with a plot. I think they have both kink and emotion.
Hey Jessica if you have read the Vampire Queen series you should go check out the Joey W Hill Fan Forum http://www.jwhconnection.com . Joey has written a vignette to go with Daegan and Gideon. Let me tell ya OMG HOT!!!!!

[bookcover..."I just finished Club Shadowlands - it was a nice sweet story. Nothing like a Fifty Shades or even The Reluctant Don. It was BDSM with training wheels... but I'm sure I will give the rest of the series a read as well, but for now moving on to The Dom of my Dreams
the Shadowlands books are more of a progression from the lite to the more involved, the last one featured slavery and a full-time relationship
I think the Reluctant Dom is one of the best emotional books I have ever red. Have not found another book to bring out that type of emotion. However, there are some great books mentioned here, The Club Shodowlands and really any book written by Charise Sinclair is wonderfull. Your looking to connect and become vested with the characters in these books. I would highy recommend Auther Kallypso Masters - Rescue Me - Master at Arms, Nobodys Angel and Nobodys Hero. I would also recomend Qwilla Rain - Diablo Blanco club - I think there are 4 books, Unfair Advantage, Rite of First Claim and Unfair Advantage. There is another - Santa's Elf I think. Relates back to some of the characters at the club. Enjoy your journey.

Wendy wrote: "Try read second chances by lauren Dane. It has a deep story and don't forget a box of tissues!!"HEA? Or tragic ending?
Andrew Grey: Love Means No Shame (M/M); Melinda Barron: Tyger series (D/s M/F)(not sure of order, but needs to be read in order) Sweet Vibrations, Sweet Surrender, Sweet Silence, Sweet Perfection, Sweet Awakening
Sable Jordan: The Doxy’s Daybook; A Friday in Two Acts (Various Relations)
Loved all of these in a different way and all tugged at my tear ducts.
I have just been bolwled over by PURE ( Andrew Miller) , It won the prestigious Costa award and I can honestly say it is the best book I have read for a long time. It is stunningly well written and takes your breath away for its imagination and descriptive language.
I enjoyed it so much that I read his other five books and loved those too

Jessica:
Here are a few to read:
On the Island- This is a deep and emotional love story no kink but 5 stars!!
Gabriel's Inferno and Gabriel's Rapture- similar to FSOG
Bared to You- Similar to FSOG
I just finished Table for Three and Damaged goods by Lainey Reese... the relationship in Table for Three, reminded me of the love in The Reluctant Dom, but it did not have the additional (view spoiler) it was a love between the men who had shared all of their women since their teens, and our lifestyle newbie. It was warm touching, true and very hot/erotic.. no tearsIt's a nice read - good alpha males and pleasing female submissive
If you're looking for an emotional connection to a story; something that will make you feel you should read:Gabriel's Inferno
Gabriel's Rapture both by Sylvain Reynard
and
Broken by Megan Hart
I hope you enjoy.

I loved this book, and yes, you definately need a box of tissues.

Another great series is Lexi Blakes master and mercenaries series starting with The Dom Who Loved Me, give it a try if you liked The Reluctant Dom. It won't make you cry but also a good romance erotica ;)

If you are looking for a deep emotional book, you can also try Tymber Dalton's
. Very emotional book!Megan Hart writes very emotional books too, try
and
Kallypso Masters has a series called Master at Arms, is Erotica/BDSM, her last book was a rollercoaster of emotions, is called
I love Cherise Sinclair as well, "Make me Sr." and "To Command and to Collar" were my favorites of her Shadowlands Series. Michelle Zurlo also writes good BDSM, not as emotionally deep as Dalton's RD or Megan Hart's Books, but very nice.
I have a three-novella series of BDSM romances coming out on XCite, the first book "The Unwanted Slave" (by Bertram Fox) comes out in May. The series is called "The Reluctant Master," I hadn't seen "The Reluctant Dom" when I wrote it or I'd have picked a more original title! But it fits, as the first book describes how a gentle feministic New Man learns to dominate and discipline a slave out of love for her.

However I agree that Auther Kallypso Masters - Rescue Me - Master at Arms, Nobodys Angel and Nobodys Hero is a great series and can't wait for the next 3 books. The Club Shadowlands series is good - but not as emotional as Reluctant Dom.
I agree with Joey W. Hill, Kallypso Masters, and Cherise Sinclair. Three of my faves. Tymber recently released the sequel to the Reluctant Dom--it is called the Denim Dom. You can find it on BookStrand.com if it hasn't made it to Amazon.com. We have lots more suggestions in our goodreads group Inner Goddess and online at www.InnerGoddess.freeforums.org
so glad to see this discussion. Just read the 50 Shades books -- shocked that I loved them. The biggest draw for me was the character of Christien and the intensity of his relationship with Ana. the kink is "whatever" for me. I don't like the sex to take over the story to the extent that the relationship is the vehicle to include the sex. Wonder if I'm explaining well. Can't wait to see how these other authors appeal. Thanks! Keep the recommendations coming! ha!!

Just wondering if any of you had recommendations of books like this?
I'm specifically looking for books that are as emotionally 'deep' as this, not necessarily as kinky. I don't care either way about the kink. But I love the emotional depth of the love in this book.
I have read and love the Fifty Shades books, and Beautiful Disaster and Thoughtless/Effortless already ...
any other recommends? :)
I can't get this book out of my mind.
