Try WorldCat.org. Sometimes the editions tab will have what you need. I usually go by the number of pages and/or the publisher, place of publishing and year published.
But since 1966 is when ISBNs were first introduced, it is quite possible that your book lacks an ISBN.
It probably does lack an ISBN and it's fine to manually add an edition without one. What's interesting is that many of the older pre-ISBN books that I've added to GR database, somehow acquire ISBNs. It's weird. I've never removed them even though they must be associated with other editions.
Edit: Just out of curiosity, I should look up those ISBNs to see to which books they belong.

Is there a nifty way to look up an ISBN or is it possible that this copy doesn't have an ISBN?
