Couple Questions: merging kindle editions and retitled books

2) Books that are published under different titles should be combined leaving the the titles as published. It is quite common for a book to be published under different titles in UK and US as well as being republished under a different title.

Why do the Kindle ebooks have a separate edition? Is it because it doesn't have alternate formats or something else? Nook editions don't, and if you open the Kindle ebook, the ISBN on the copyright page matches the regular ebooks edition. So... why?
*curiosity strikes again*

I was adding Circumference of Darkness (US published title) the one I read was "Maximum Impact" ISBN 9780751539455 UK edition (which incidentally has an incorrect description) of the same book. Found this thread after searching, and thought 'combine as same book', as per Paula 2, 2). Was intending to put a librarian note to that effect, though now CoD has come up with my review attached (am presuming this is the primary now?). I'm now concerned it may have been a mistake combining them - how is it best to handle this situation?
I am happy to correct it, when advised of the best way to go about this :) Thanks!

Your review will also appear in the list with the other reviews for all the editions if you look at another edition.
If you only want to see the reviews for the edition u read, you need to use the filter under the community reviews section

I hope it is ok to ask here, I don't know how to start a new thread. For a short story edition that is originally in a bigger book (see below) would it be added as another edition with the original publication date? I am wondering whether it is worth adding these books if that is the case.
The Mammoth Book of
Best British Crime
Edited by Maxim Jakubowski
(UK) Constable & Robinson, March 2009
First published in A Hell of a Woman:
An Anthology of Female Noir
Edited by Megan Abbott,
foreword by Val McDermid
Busted Flush Press, September 2007
Served Cold was nominated for a 2009 CWA Short Story Dagger.
It is also available in FOX FIVE e-thology (which was published before the standalone e-story).
Am I correct in thinking they should be combined (as such) though I am not sure whether this is the best way to do it??
Do you add original publication date to the record that is already there? I’d like to make sure that I do things the correct way (I’m happy to do it, if someone could just clarify the best way to do so) - thank you :)

Actually, it will show at the top for all edition of a book (possibly subject to a caching delay on other editions). For editions other than the one you reviewed, there will be an indication that your review is for a different edition.

Goodreads is so helpful when I am wanting to find the next book in a series/new authors to read; and I am impressed with how fast these queries get dealt with.

K, we don't combine short story editions with the bigger anthologies, if they have been published separately.

1. Some books (or at least this one: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/84...) have multiple Kindle editions. How? As far as I know, the only place the ASIN shows up is on the Amazon site. The only way I know of for this to happen is if the edition was updated and so the ASIN was changed. Maybe? Should these 2 editions be merged or left alone? Is there an explanation for this I don't know about?
2. I've come across a book that was retitled from The Vanishing Sculptor to The Dragons of Chiril (see author website here: http://www.donitakpaul.com/books/chir...). From what I understand, these should be combined into one edition, right? Or would that mess with... something, looking up one of the books in the search or something?
Thanks for your help!
