Only like 49 days til the movie comes out!! One of my favorite series of all time... I have made everyone read these books because it's just so hard to remember they're YA sometimes. Awesome dystopian, political, romance, action... It's got everything!

I'm hoping to read the second and third before the movie comes out. But I loved the first, I didn't think I would

I'd heard good things about this book, but wasn't sold on it, so when I found it yesterday at my bookseller for a bargain price, I bought it.Haven't been able to put it down. I read it while I cooked dinner - which got a little burnt because I was reluctant to put it down.
Love the pace of the story and the world building - just enough information to put a picture together in your head but not information overload.
I've just finished A Games of Thrones and this is the second most talked about book on Goodreads, so it's next on my list. But tell me (fans of the book,) why should I read it?I haven't got a clue what it is about, I haven't read the blurb, I don't even know what genre of fiction this is book is. lol

IN fact I read all three in three days. The first is my favorite and the second was good the last half of the book but I was a little disappointed with the third book.
However the movie should be awesome and I cannot wait till it comes out!

Just finished the second
and I thought it was better than the first (if that's possible) I didn't put the book down until I finished. *coughs* 6.am lol.
I can't wait to read how all this plays out.
What I like most about this series is that the author creates this world and characters and scenario, and then just plays it all out. There are no plots-of-convenience whatsoever, everything that happens fits the characters in the story and the way it all plays out is really the only way it could ever really play out. Then there is what I love about the series - Peeta and Katniss. Peeta. Finnick. Peeta.... and Peeta <3
Then if there was anything I could say that I didn't like about this series is how rushed the 3rd book seems - like there was too tight a deadline on it or something. It could have possibly been an extra 10,000 words longer IMO, but still my second most favourite series of all time!
Only half way through the Mockingjay but I'v never come across a book that delves into the meaning of Love as much as this series. It's powerful stuff that has me reaching for my tissues every five minutes.I can't see this book ending happily. :(

I agree, i finished the series a few weeks ago and i personally thought that Catching Fire was better than the first book, but i still love love love the first book. Catching Fire was definitely my favourite! :)
Well I've tried reading another two books since, but I can't get The Hunger Games out of my head! I guess I'm going to have to watch the film now. lol

I just watched interviews from the cast and it sounded like they were saying Peeta's name wrong. That will annoy me all thro the film!
uh oh - although I'm sure that Suzanne Collins was involved in the making of the movie so I'm sure that how they are saying it was how she intended it to be said??

I know but you know how it is when you read a book then find out the way your supposed to say something irritates you

You may already know this as the movie is already out. But she actually wrote the script for the movie. For those of you that have seen the movie, what did you think?
No one loves Gale here so hes all mine! Mwhaha! Ok that was sorta creepy! I love THG! Fave series EVER!
THG SERIES ARE ONE OF MY FAV BOOKS EVER! (love more the 2nd one) amazing story, amazing characters, amazing endings on every book and amazing BIG FINAL(mockingjay)
LOVE PEETA & HAYMITCH, my men:D
suggestion: you all have to read MAZE RUNNER is amazing just as THG really:D
Not as amazing AT ALL but still really good.
hahaha i don't know why i love both the same way, i read theam almost at the same time first hg then mz then catching fire then scorch trials, then mockingjay and i haven't read death cure, i'm from mexico and the book will be in stores the 21st of this month (VERY EXCITED)
The Death Cure? In the US its been in stores for months?!
Matched was okay, not really my cup of tea. But still okay. Delirium was a good one, if you haven't read that one. Uglies is supposed to be really good. Legend by Marie Lu, that was a really good one.
Also Inside Out my Maria V. Snyder :) That's a good one too, I haven't read the second book in the series yet though.
Matched, Delirium, and The Hunger Games. Hmm.. Gone by Michael Grant. All of them are a-m-a-z-i-n-g.
i haven't read delirium, i is not here in mexico yet :( the same as GONE, and LEGEND, i really want to read them :) and about matched well, i liked it but not too much i haven't read the 2 one and yes here in mexico the death cure has not come yet, but we'll have it this month :D hahahaha
i heard that it has a second part i think, i don't know if it is true, but a lot of people said that the book is amazing:D i'll read it someday.:D
I want to read divergent. I loved the hunger games! At first I didn't think I would like it but I was soo wrong! I am trying to get my 12 yr old brother to read it.
My mum was a little freaked out by the story. It took a lot of persuading to get her to read it. She said I made it sound a lot worse than what it was.
I conned both my mum and my sister to read it before the movie came out. And they both love it. Although my sister says she will never read the books again because they are too sad. How can she hate it? Does she only hate it because you like it, or does she actually not like it? I have never met anyone that doesn't like it. Even my like my family that hasn't read the books all loved the movie.
Wow, I don't know anybody that doesn't like it. Well, my Nan doesn't like it. But she is 60 and she definitely doesn't get into things like HG, so I didn't think that she would. Most of my friends when I was in High School read. At least you have the internet to talk to tons of book nerds :D
I loved the Hunger Games! However, I was massively disappointed with the third book. On some fronts in delivered but on others in completely failed to meet what I wanted D:- Skye
