I have a thing for stalkerish, intense male characters. I don't know why!! But when they're in books, it's sexy... In real life? Mildly terrifying.

There is a spoof on Youtube from Hillywood Productions that simply used glitter I think and lost the sound effects, I liked it alot better. I mean what was up with the sound effects in Edward's big reveal?
The movie is ridiculous. I can't even watch it because it's so embarrassing lol. The book... I am a (mostly) grown woman, and I am a total sucker for Edward.
I think the movies and series would have been better if you removed Bella and Edward. I like everyone but them I think. I loved Breaking Dawn: Part 1 though. *embarrassed*
I think if you removed Kristen Stewart from the movies, they'd be OK lol. But I love the series because of Edward. I loved BD too, minus the wolf scene where they're talking in each other heads... SO bad.
I just can't stand Jacob. He's so whiny. But I also don't really like Bella until Breaking Dawn, she is just so pathetic.
She was such a pain in everyone's butt. I don't like books where every other character is trying to keep her alive because of a love that's supposedly meant to be.
LOL have you read Tiger's Curse? It's like Twilight magnified because the boys are brothers. Oh my god. Just let her die already and you'd both be much happier.
I've heard alot of people talk about the series but if that's what it's like then I don't think I'll check those out. :) Die obnoxious female character!
OK, I take it back if it means you don't read them lol. I just finished the third... and I am dying for the 4th which comes out in Sept. They're pretty awesome, but the 3rd book is just like... Boys, go get another toy, you're about to break this one. They just fight over her nonstop but the rest of the story is awesome.
I think it's fine that they sparkle. I actually think it adds more sex appeal :)

I totally agree!
I totally agree!
Sparkly equals wuss to me. Can you picture the Volturi all sparkly? I mean how could you not laugh at them. :D
Stephanie (Loves Adrian Ivashkov♥) wrote: "I love Twilight but I think there are better vamp books out there though."Agreed!
who agrees the book is actually much MUCH better than the movies.....personally I think the movies made the books look pathetic...but I still like the books to tell you the truth :)
The books are perhaps not extremely well written, but the actual story is really quite compelling and the characters in all their weaknesses are very interesting and so what - I actually really love Edward's character in all his possessiveness (he doesn't actually hurt her right, he's just protecting her - maybe in 1000 years he will have learned to let Bella do her thing..oh that's right he learns that kinda in BD). And Jake is fine, he's 16 so kinda what I expect from a 16-yo-who-just-found-out-he's-supernatural. And as for the sparkly thing, it was kinda interesting to begin with but I'm being convinced it's a little ridiculous :)
I have to say far removed from reading the books, sparkly vampires just seem silly. But I loved the first book, so I have to admit she sold me on sparkly vampires then.
Vampire is a fictional character. Whether it is sparkling or not. It's okay as long as you enjoy reading.
I thought her description of vamps in this series was original and lets face it when it comes to a mythical creature with stories going back hundreds of years being original is not always easy. But I think my favorite thing in these books are, when you love, love with everything you are and don't judge for what people are but who they are, and even the being celibate until marriage thing since YA's are not really doing that anymore and really should be. There is no cause for a 15-16 yr old to be sexually active and even pregnant or with her first STD. I think girls should be reading this and deciding that waiting for the right one and the right time is the right thing to do. Nice meassages Stephenie let's hope it takes and sticks.
I can see where you are coming from. I do agree, but I also don't think that Bella is the best role model when it comes to female characters. Just because of how she breaks down when Edward leaves her and nearly kills herself for him. I don't think that sends the best message either. But I don't like these books, so my opinion could be biased to that.
I like Twilight. Its really good.
Emily wrote: "When you first read them you never realise how stalker-ish Edward actually is!"ha ha, oh he is just a little worried about clumsy Bella...
Rachel wrote: "I thought her description of vamps in this series was original and lets face it when it comes to a mythical creature with stories going back hundreds of years being original is not always easy. But..."True enough, when you see it that way one can hardly blame her for doing the "sparkly vamp" thing.
Although the sparkly thing was weird, I get totally get it. Everyone's always like what the heck is up with the sparkly vampires, but it's supposed to appeal to teenage girls, and with the popularity of both the book series and the movies, you can tell that it does. But I also enjoy different authors interpretations of mythological creatures, always makes a story more interesting. Although not a big fan of Twilight :/
Twilight is great. Even though I'm no freaky fanatic of it I'm quite used to it's obsessive factors on my best friend. :) I love the books more than the movies though, especially New Moon because of its beautiful metaphors.
It kind of bugs me when people complain about it. Because it just seems like an obvious reason to me. You change mythical creatures to fit how you want your story to be.
