LOL, that's my favorite 80s song. DH showed me this video of some kids in North Korea playing it on the accordian. It's like ... an abomination of nature. So I'm totally posting it on my blog tomorrow! What's everyone up to this weekend?
oOo -- I'll check that out for sure :) Ironically, it is my 12yr old daughter's favorite song now... well that and Pina Colada Boy (I hate that one sooooo much). My weekend will hopefully include my writing the middle section of a short story I have in the works in between mommy carting and other parental type obligations.
What do you have on the Calendar after you finish the Kermit Flails from the completion of your Cover Reveal on Friday?
Tomorrow we're driving to Mississippi to get a new car for DH. *rolls eyes* Then Sunday I have critique group, where we laugh and make dirty comments about our manuscripts. I can't believe we haven't gotten kicked out of Panera yet. :)
Debbie wrote: "Am I late for the party? (Dang head cold...)"Nope, come on in! Have some ... punch. Yeah, that's it. :)
It is a little freaky to know my 12yr old likes all the old songs I loved. Yesterday, I caught her crooning to Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. But my favorite is when she raps with my Eminem songs...she cracks me up!
Got some little ones running around the family rocking out to "Juke Box Hero..." Gotta love that! (I'll take one of those mounds bars) And Shilpa... Your reviews are doing great!
OK, I have a question for everyone. If you were going to get a tattoo to commemorate your book coming out, what would it be and WHERE? O_O
I have a tatt in mind and have for years, but it isnt specific to this book....SooooHmmm. I would get a pirate flag or a skull and cross bones on my shoulderblade, I think.
Steph - Interesting question! Hmm, i always wanted a tattoo on my ankle. So, I think I will get a eiffel tower around my ankle...or may be make it vertical on the inner side of the ankle. :p But it needs to be on the ankle. Haha.
Stephanie wrote: "OK, I have a question for everyone. If you were going to get a tattoo to commemorate your book coming out, what would it be and WHERE? O_O"Mmmh.. I've always wanted a tatt on my wrist (inner side) I love dragons+angels - draangels from one of my WIP..wouldn't mind a tiny, fang-y one. It has nothing to do with books, but I love it. :D
My forever wanted tatt - is the image of a water sprite trying to take flight, but is tethered to the ground by the ankle to a ball and chain. The ball of the tether would be my anklebone and she would run up the side of my calf. The symbolism behind it is my long time RPG character, Snipit, a water sprite I "played" for over 4 years, while teh ball and chain is to signify I have been captured by my darling boyfriend.
Someday!
Stephanie wrote: "OK, I have a question for everyone. If you were going to get a tattoo to commemorate your book coming out, what would it be and WHERE? O_O"I would have to get one that washes off over time so I could change it with my mood (and my book)... But for Witte Wieven? I think a storm cloud with a bolt of lightning in the middle and... right above my ankle...

hehe -- and the bonus here is that if things ever went south, I just need to have a tatt artist put a break in the chain showing I broke free :)Though after almost 7 years together, I dont think that one is going to happen :P

Gosh, you almost burst my bubble of romantic thoughts with that first sentence..lol
:P Im a closet realist. Besides, with tattoos, you have to keep in mind the bigger picture. It's kinda like that whole dont put someone's name on you thing. You just never know.

Thinking of having "We all Want something" done in white ink, but I'm not sure how it would look on extremely pale skin. (And I'd have the word "Want" done in the same font as on the book cover.)

We really need an exterminator for all these crickets.By the way, my book made tops of the Most Anticipated Debut novels list.
(Thanks to everyone who voted - it is way cool)
I voted for you Rebecca :)! How does it feel? Being on a list names Most Anticipated Debut? I mean, holy cow - very cool!
It's quite freaky -- a little less so knowing I did advertise myself for it and let people know about it. Intimidating as I see # in the to read listing grow. They will judge me and it better be up to par...yanno? Not quite as scary as your family and friends beta reading it.
I'm kinda glad I'm not on the list ;) Takes a wee bit of the pressure off. LOL! How awesome that you're already building interest though. That's huge!Yea, the whole review thing is soooo scary. You never know how people are going to respond to your work.
Slated for August 7th. But I know that's a bit fluid :) I have another book coming out with a different house as well (and it's VERY different) so promoting is interesting! When's your release date?
June 21 - feels like forever - just like the wait for the cover.Been working on shorts of late. Just subbed an erotica for a friend's charity anthology, and working on a fairy tale twist for another opening.
I can hardly wait to read both your books. And Sasha, I know you probably don't want to say, but I'm DYING to know who your British muse was for the one you were discussing. I know who mine would be!
June 21 is so soon! That's AWESOME Rebacca. YAY!Thanks Michelle, I can't admit to it - just can't. People love him or HATE him... BUT, once you read it, I think it's VERY obvious who my Josh Wiley is/was. :) *SIGH* He's pretty hawt. And sweet. And adorable... I'm not at all fond of him. LOL!
Sasha, I have read the book and I still couldn't guess it. Really who? Josh had his own presence. No one like him. He is a sweetheart and so unique!
TIna, yes you have to read it!
Rebecca - Yay! This is totally going on FB in few minutes! People will love your book. Dont worry!

Debbie wrote: "It might take a magic wand to dispel the spell..."Crap -- I don't have one... just pirate garb and a cool sword... you?
Um... I don't have a magic wand, sword, pirate garb, or 17th century wolf... I know, I'm feeling like a loser too....
You can borrow my piratey flag if'n it will make you feel more loved and less loserly :)But, I am keeping the eye patch!
I had this horrible eye allergy that made my eyeball swell and... ok, nevermind the details, but I had to wear an eyepatch last year. I totally thought I was rockin' the look like Darryl Hannah in Kill Bill... until I realized I totally wasn't. So, Rebecca, if you're giving away flags, I'd love a Jolly Roger to fly off the back of my canoe, but you can keep the eyepatch. I'm sure it would look way hotter on you.
