Shadow's Claim (The Dacians Book #1)
Important News from Kresly Cole's fb page, posted about an hour ago!Hi folks, lots of news today...
First off, the phenomenal cover for POISON PRINCESS (Book 1 in the Arcana Chronicles) will be revealed soon, along with an excerpt! Details on exactly when and where to follow.
Secondly, we have a good news/bad news situation. Bad news: SHADOW’S CLAIM is moving from September to November. I appreciate your patience! Good news? For those of you wishing there’d be two Immortals After Dark installments per year, you get your wish. SHADOW’S CLAIM is, in essence, an IAD book, just one in a shiny new subseries, featuring hot Dacian vampires. You’ll see a lot of your favorite characters and the overarching storyline of the IAD continues!
So I'm absolutely salivating to write about a certain type of Lore creature--can anyone guess which kind it is? Or who it might be?
Cheers for the IAD fans and thank you Kresley for not turning Shadow's Claim into another YA!!!
Despite Thad's age... LOL
I just saw this on Facebook tooooo! :D Soooo excited despite the release date delay (*sigh* I hate waiting)!!! I figured we would see a lot of IAD characters in the new spin off series, especially - i would assume - Lothaire and co., but it's great for her to at least confirm it with us fans.
That's great! Too bad about the delayed ETA but what ya gonna do. I'm excited we're getting 2 Kresley Cole books per year. Love her writing.
Me too, Kryptonite. I love this series. I'm glad that KC has kept it creative and exciting for such a long run.
Here is a link to Kresley Cole's fb page with a back cover blurb for the new Dacian series, IAD spin-off Shadow's Claim.https://www.facebook.com/notes/kresle...
I'm really looking forward to it as well. Should be a lot of fun and I'm looking forward to Lothaire and Ellie showing up.

Just saw this at Kresley's website ... cover for Shadow's Claim & a couple of nibblin' clues to keep us enthralled. Here's the link http://kresleycole.com/forum/viewtopi... ... enjoy!
I've already pre-ordered it, what feels like a gazillion years in advance, but, hey, it's Kresley Cole (and not YA).
guys i dont want to buy the lothaire book again...do any of you know where i could read the 3 chapter excerpt?!thanx
5 first chapters of Shadow's Claim if anyone is interested.. :Dhttp://kresleycole.com/downloads/Kres...
I read the excerpt and I really like it! Shadow's Claim starts before Lothaire takes over in Dacia and so the timeline will eventually catch up to the events in Lothaire. I see how it all fits with what happened in Lothaire, what we learned about Trehan and what Ellie said to Trehan at the end of Lothaire. It's so fun to be back in the Lore!!!
Very cool, Lulu! I havent read the 5 chapters yet.. I mean, its Kresley, so I'm sure I will be hooked and want to keep reading.. lolReally looking forward to this book. Only 26 days left. :D

Amanda, I deleted your post because all self-promotional posts should be in that section and not on other threads.
This is from Kresley Cole's FB page :Q. Is this series different from the Immortals After Dark?
A. Not at all. It will still have steamy scenes, humor, and tumultuous romance among immortals (and it even delves into the Accession). You can check out an extended excerpt and see for yourself: http://bit.ly/ShadowsClaimExcerpt
Q. Does Lothaire Daciano make a cameo?
A. Yep. Both he and Ellie are in Shadow’s Claim! As an aside, Lothaire’s advice plays a pivotal role in Trehan and Bettina’s relationship (as it did in Declan and Regin’s). In fact, he’s going to be a type of, ahem, *mentor* for the rest of the Dacianos, except he won’t be sane, well-meaning, or tactful with his lessons.
Q. Do any other IAD characters show up?
A. You betcha! We’ll see (or hear of):
Nïx! Munro & Uilleam MacRieve, Morgana Queen of Sorceri, Sabine Queen of Illusions, Melanthe Queen of Persuasions, Stelian, Kosmina, Viktor & Mirceo Daciano, and a group of Vrekeners (one with a possible connection to Thronos?)
Q. How does Trehan compare to your previous IAD heroes?
A. Well, he’s deadly, obsessed with Bettina, and will destroy anything that comes between them. Hero jealousy? Check. Toe-curlingly sexy? Roger that. Protective alpha? In spades.
Q. When will the audio book be released?
A. November 27, right along with the book’s release. (and it's narrated by the incomparable Robert Petkoff!) For an audio excerpt, click here: http://bit.ly/ShadowsClaimAudio
Now, I'm so excited. And who know we will get hints about the next IAD book :)
Me too! I am so excited. Yay for more Lothaire and Ellie too. I love that Lothaire "won't be sane, well-meaning or tactful" lol!!
Got an email this morning saying my pre-order's been released from the publisher. Now it's only a week or so for it to get here.
:D
I'm so glad! Can't wait for my copy to download tonight. At least, I hope it downloads early. I usually get new releases around 9:00 PM Pacific Time since that's 12:00 AM East Coast time.
Anyushka wrote: "Got an early copy! Finished it within 6 hours. It was amazing!!!"
i am so jealous...where do you live...does it release according to time a certain time zone
I almost always get my Tuesday releases, late Monday night as amazon will release for kindle at 12:00 AM east coast time, 9:00 PM pacific.
is it different for "non" kindle digital releases?anyways the anticipation is killing me...most reviews are complaining about how bettina whines too much
Oh noooo, don't say that. I hope she doesn't whine too much.ETA: I don't know about the non-kindle release times.
Karen wrote: "hopefully not...anything kresley writes i read and love"Me too. I love KC. And . . . I just checked and it hasn't downloaded for me yet. :(
I am about 65% in and I totally love this book, especially Trahan Daciano! Seriously, he has probably become my favorite vamp (next to Lothaire) in the IAD. He is that fab!
Just finished! Loved this book! Trehan has just become one of my fav IAD characters.Reading the connections between this and Lothaire is making me want to go back and reread Lotharie.
I added a spoiler warning since this is out now. The spoiler warning will be posted for the first month of release.

Fall 2012
#1 New York Times bestseller Kresley Cole introduces The Dacians, a new paranormal romance collection following the royal bloodline of Dacia, a vampire kingdom hidden within the Lore of the Immortals After Dark.
Shadow’s Claim features Prince Trehan, a ruthless master assassin who will do anything to possess Bettina, his beautiful Sorceress mate, even compete for her hand in a blood-sport tournament—to the death.
HE WON’T BE DENIED
Trehan Daciano, known as the Prince of Shadows, has spent his life serving his people, striking in the night, quietly executing any threat to their realm. The coldly disciplined swordsman has never desired anything for himself—until he beholds Bettina, the sheltered ward of two of the Lore’s most fearsome villains.
SHE’S BOUND TO ANOTHER
Desperate to earn her guardians’ approval after a life-shattering mistake, young Bettina has no choice but to marry whichever suitor prevails—even though she’s lost her heart to another. Yet one lethal competitor, a mysterious cloaked swordsman, invades her dreams, tempting her with forbidden pleasure.
A BATTLE FOR HER BODY AND SOUL
Even if Trehan can survive the punishing contests to claim her as his wife, the true battle for Bettina’s heart is yet to come. And unleashing a millennium’s worth of savage need will either frighten his Bride away—or stoke Bettina’s own desires to a fever-pitch....
So, what do you think?
