Hi Laura, I'll be interested in your views on The House of Silk. I heard Mr Horowitz interviewed on BBC Radio 4 and his thoughts and approach to the book made it sound like it will be good.
I'll be watching for your reviews of Tales of Angria and La Comtesse De Salisbury. Having finally read Dumas, I want to read more.
19. Masques of Gold by Roberta Gellis20. ...And Ladies of the Club by Helen Hooven Santmyer
21. No Ordinary Woman: The Story of Mary Schäffer Warren by Janice Sanford Beck

Nope, not yet.....one of those on my list....still trying to get through The Children's Book. It has moments of excellence followed by hours of boredom...
Laura, how did you link your reviews to your book list? I've had the Fosyte Saga on my pile for ages but you read much faster then me (said with tinges of jealousy), LOL.BTW, thanks again for thinking to invite me.
Instructions here, Dawn. If that's not enough info, just let me know.

Marialyce wrote: "..still trying to get through The Children's Book. It has moments of excellence followed by hours of boredom......"That's not good news. The Children's Book is not on my TBR list, but I've been eyeing it with interest for ages. I loved Possession and quite liked The Virgin in the Garden, so I had high hopes for this book.

Hard to explain, Kim. I mean the writing is fantastic and the knowledge base Byatt has is phenomenal, but it is just too dense. I love the Victorian period, but this is just overkill IMHO.

I've never been able to warm up that much to Byatt (and after she made some quite disparaging comments about the Harry Potter series and adults who have enjoyed it, I feel even less inclined to want to read any more of her writing).

Or not. Grrrrr! So. I added a folder. At least when I go into "Edit Folders" it shows up but I can't find it when I just go into the Mount TBR Challenge Discussions. Can anybody see this folder? And if not, any suggestions on what I need to do to get it to show up?
