I'm about half way through the Jeff Wheelwright book I was lucky enough to pick up at SciO12. It is very dense with the science and religious parts interweaving through the text. It has been hard to put down, but I haven't had the time for a long read lately. Anyone else reading it? Do you see a similarity to Skloot's book on HeLa?

Before the Lights Go Out: Conquering the Energy Crisis Before It Conquers Us I thought this was a well done book. She took a fairly dry subject and put it in a style that kept you going to the end. The energy issue is very complex. Changing one efficiency can cause unintended consequences. Maggie described these in ways that let you understand them in lay terms rather than massive tables of numbers. I gave it three stars since I enjoyed it, but it wouldn't be for everyone. Once my SO reads it, we will have another data point.
