Heather | 8550 comments Just as music can evoke emotion and sometimes remind us of other people, places, things, etc., so can art.

This is a folder where we can post a piece or pieces of art which 'take us back' to a time or place in our memories or dreams.

How do you feel about your particular work?
What makes you feel that way?
Of what does it remind you and why?

This is a good place to tell stories about your experiences with viewing or visiting certain art and share with all of us your knowledge and feelings.

***This thread is also open to ideas, suggestions and/or questions***

Carol (goodreadscomcarolann) | 1140 comments TV was big when I was little and I have many memories when my family was forever changed by the news events we saw on our "new black and white" TV. These events were forever etched into our minds which were very emotional.

MLK I Have A Dream Speech, August 28, 1963 --

Death of JFK, November 22, 1963 --

John Jr. saluting JFK's body as it passes -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBVPio...

First Moonwalk, July 20, 1969 --

We did play music on 33 or 45 records which we put on a turntable on the top of the TV and could hear it in "stereo." My mom loved the Beatles and we watched them on the Ed Sullivan show -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6JILsC...
I didn't get a "hi-fi" until I could buy one when I was 16.

Heather | 8550 comments wonderful links, Carol. And thank you for sharing your memories. Sometimes I think I was born too late!

Carol (goodreadscomcarolann) | 1140 comments I have all my grandparents 78 records, there favorite was Blueberry Hill by Fats Domino and as little kids we loved listening to Burl Ives and a Winnie the Pooh record narrated by Jack ? ( Can't remember his last name.)

Do you remember Mattel made a record player on top of a plastic TV with slides called "Show and Tell?"

They actually have at least two 1957 performances of this on Youtube.

Heather | 8550 comments I remember visiting my grandparents out of state and sitting in their living room next to the turn-table listening to the story of Pollyanna. That was my favorite part about going to my grandparents. Oh, that and pumping on their player piano. Remember those?
