Well, there is really one thing that I really wanted to discuss - love triangles in books!!
Don't get me wrong. I think that love triangles make the story much more interesting but I always get morose when I think about it.
In my opinion, if one person really loves another and that feeling is really strong, the person is, let's say "blind" to all others.
It doesn't matter how attractive, interesting and intriguing that other person is. You may recognize that characteristics in others, but there's no doubt in your mind that who you really want is who you have.
If you really love someone, that someone is your world. You just can't picture yourself, without being by his/her side. No matter how difficult it may be or the obstacles you may have to face.
That's why I don't understand when, in books, the main character falls in love with a certain person, but then someone else shows up, claiming to love him/her and something happen between the couple, they break up and the main character suddenly thinks that it is better for him/her to be with that second person.
I share Mr Johnny Depp opinion - "If you love two people at the same time, choose the second. Because if you really loved the first one, you wouldn't have fallen for the second.”
What do you think??

That makes great sense!

Though the johnny depp quote really inforced your argument and honestly swayed my opinion enough to re-evaluate it, i still think its possible and it does happen that you can love/fall in love/be in love with 2 people at the same time

sometimes you love people for different reasons. and then you might say, pick the one you know you can't live without, pick the one you love but also need more....

but sometimes, you cant live without either of them, you need both of them, you just love both.

I can kinda see both sides. But I don't know how you can love two people. I'm not a big fan of reading love triangles because I don't really understand how they heroine can love 2 guys. I think there's one that she favors more. I don't know about love triangles. Although, I think they're good in YA to create tension and make you want to keep reading.

...We're not doing that here. everyone's pretty respectful of each others opinions. That's why this topic is labeled "thoughts" XD
we're just basically thinking aloud and learning other peoples views

Don't worry :) Everything's good so far. It's actually good that there's different view points and people can express these as long as they do it respectfully and don't get mad.... Then we'll have problem ;)

Yeah I like it here. I just hate other groups where the mods are not nice at all and if you make a teeny mistake they pounce on you with pure bitchiness.

I agree John. We should be able to say what we think and feel....just don't trash one another.
