Nina I recently finish reading this wonderful book and I am so sorry that I finished it.:( So now I am desperate to discuss this book whit someone who has read it and liked it. Also I would really use some advice about what to read next. Which other Sharon Kay book should I read next?

Melissa I was also sad when the book came to an end, I found myself reading fewer pages at a time on purpose to make it last longer. . .As for what to read next there are a quite a few different books to choose from, but essentially you could go one of 2 ways; you could read her Welsh Trilogy or her Henry/Eleanor series. Either way the books are great, good luck.

Megan Agreed as well. I found I really enjoyed her writting style and it is always impressive when an author is able to do this with books of this lenght and detail. Personally her Welsh Trilogy (Here Be Dragons, Falls The Shadow, and The Reckoning) are my favorites of hers. Her Henry/Eleanor series (When Christ and His Saints Slept, Time and Chance, and The Devils Brood) is almost as good.

Nina thanks for the recommendations, I'll probably read hear be dragons trilogy next. Anyway this book inspired me so much that I'm thinking to write a paper on war of the roses for my history major.

Judi Easley I'm glad to see a recommendation for her Henry and Eleanor series, because I just started When Christ and His Saints Slept. I liked The Sunne in Splendour so much I wanted more of her writing. Thanks for the affirmation!

That was my exact experience too.

Alena I re-read her books about every 2 years. Loved her new book Lionheart too.

Nina I just discovered her books, I only read The Sunne in Splendor and I'm planing to read her Welsh trilogy next.

message 9: by Victoria (new) - added it

Victoria I love all of Penman's historical fiction but Falls the Shadow was the best imo.

Connie I love historical fiction and Sharon K Penman is my favorite historical fiction author. I think Sunne in Splendor is the best book I've read about Richard III and I've read many. I cried at the end of the book when he died at Bosworth even though of course I knew the ending. Really anything she writes is great.
