Whats your take on the ever continuing debate of Ebook vs Paper books? :))

message 2: by Adriana (new)

Adriana I can never give up paper books. I can't get into the story as much with an ebook. It's just how I am I guess.

i absolutely love the smell of new books and even really old books too, as weird as that sounds ... i grew up having a book in my hand, anticipating what'll happen on the next page .. i use ebooks ,, but thats only if i really really need/want to read a book and i cant seem to get it in paper quick enough.

message 4: by Adriana (new)

Adriana The smell of new books is a perk (:

message 5: by Mansi (new)

Mansi (devilrebel62) I hate ereaders, ebooks, nooks w.e. you people have LOL! I guess I just didn't think technology would grow this advanced into this world n start having technological books... I prefer holding a book and reading it then sliding my finger across a screen to turn a page-__-
&I <3 going to book stores instead of buying those cards like iTunes instead for Kindle or w.e.

message 6: by Beatrice (new)

Beatrice (beatricemasalunga) Paperbook > Ebook.
I love the smell of books. though, I both use them.

message 7: by Adriana (new)

Adriana That makes sense.

yeah, i guess it really does depend on your lifestyle. :)

message 9: by jia (new)

jia (jiannemsoriano) Ebooks are convenient especially here in Hong Kong because books are SO expensive. And since I'm also a busy person and I travel it's easier to carry my itouch and just read rather than an actual book. But still, it's a different experience when you're actually reading a real book. :)

message 10: by Mansi (new)

Mansi (devilrebel62) Sweet, I wanna go to Hong Kong xD

Yes. Hahaha, but it's nothing compared to Japan's or Paris' or anywhere else. For me at least, I find it boring there. Ocean Park is more recommended for teenagers xD

It's a theme park like Disneyland but not disney characters. It's more of a theme park for adults and teenagers. And much much more exciting :)

For practicality, ebooks are amazing ... but i guess there's more of an experience in reading a paper copy?

Bye Devvykins. Try to actually sleep this time? ;)

Sandee is Reading (sandeeisreading) i actually love reading hard copies and ebooks but as mentioned earlier by sam it all depends on the lifestyle that you have. our house is not too big so there really isnt that much space to store books. I actually have to give away some of them and only kept a few ones i really love. my kindle pretty much stores all my books now. It saves space and easy to carry around. But preferrably i would still like to read the good old hardbound books. =)

I feel the same way!!! I hate for people to know what I'm reading. I actually hate for people to know I'm reading at all. That's why I love my nookcolor so much.

message 46: by Valencia (new)

Valencia (empowered) I absolutely love my nookcolor!! It's the best investment.......EVER. I didn't buy it because I travel like some of you. I loved to read a lot (of course) and I got tired of trying to hunt books down in my library's system and I prefered to buy my books whenever I could. Getting my eReader was a great thing for me. For all the many reasons that's already been listed, it just worked for me. Besides, I don't smell or feel up my books so I wasn't losing anything there. I'm not that sentimental. The only thing that matters is the story, and my eReader just makes it easier to get my stories!!!! And I really really like trees, so I don't have to be upset that a perfectly good tree was killed to print a crappy story. (:

i guesss if you look at it .. cost wise its also really good? Because ebooks tend to be a hell of a lot cheaper than papercopies and you're also saving trees too! :D

It's a great investment if you think about how much you would normally spend on books in a year it really could save you money.

message 49: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (elspethgordie) | 11 comments i use both- because the kindle is easier to use and cheaper, but i think we all agree that there are a number of books that are just better to have actually there: harry potter, the lord of the rings, the hobbit, to name a few :)

message 50: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin (elspethgordie) | 11 comments ....and i also don't really like how some of the world's best books-the classics- are all free on ereaders, as if they're not classified as literature anymore :/
