This series is one of my favourites. Even though Alfie died in the end, I still think everyone had a happy ending. I mean, all Alfie wanted was to be with his father and mother, and that's what he got.
I was so happy when I learned that Daniel was still alive and that he and Paddy we reunited.
Even though Juliana's father died, I think she was happy she wasn't being forced to marry anymore, (At least that's what I think happened... I need to review the book again)
Sophie of course, even though saddened by Alfie's death, was happy because both she and her mother are alive.
