Suddenly the light went out. Julie's pale face contorted in a scream that cut through the darkness like a knife.


well, (I'm not doing all the requirements in this ex) Bob did stick to the requirement of using "suddenly the lights went out" so he gets 10/10 points. But he did not stick to the length requirement at all, so he gets 1/10 points. He used some good description, so he gets 7/10 points. You see? At the end you total them all up to get ?/(specified total points)
In this ex, bob got 18/30.
