Harlequin Presents Readers discussion
Food for Thought

Do you ever picture actors/actresses as the characters in the HPs you read?
LOL I do. I have a ginormous gal crush on goddess Jessica Chastain. So yeah I picture her for my HP heroines. Michael Fassbender, Hugh Jackman & Rupert Penry-Jones (I don't even like blondes but he's so dashing in Persuasion). James D'Arcy needs to beef up, I agree.

Patricia Wilson book I read couple nites ago is blonde. For non-HP, Simon from Elizabeth Hoyt - The serpent price & also Esmond from Loretta Chase - Captives of the night, are so dreamy, they rock my rusty boat.
I like the Brits. Richard Armitage, Pierce Brosnan, Timothy Dalton and for blondies, Daniel Craig. Guess I like 007 actors, LOL. For heroines I like the brits too, Rachel Weizl, Kate Beckinsale. Monica Belucci is gorgeous too (Italian, obviously).
Sara Craven writes some blond heroes. I find that kind of refreshing sometimes. I tend to like the anglo heroes.

Oh, good idea suggestions. I love the idea of Richard Armitage as a HP hero. I love Daniel Craig, but he has a macho, lethal appeal I don't usually associate with HPs. I wish I read more with that kind of hero.
Kate I went through a phase where Christian Bale and Gerard Butler were my heroes in every other book, mostly historicals. I'm not into GB anymore, but I still love Bale.

Oh I'm still into GB so a big YES to Gerard Butler. : )And back in the day, I could associate Tommy Lee Jones to many Janet Dailey Books!
I find that I picture Jon Hamm a lot these days. He's got all the physical attributes I can see in an HP hero.Aruana
I was in London a few weeks ago, and the tube stations were filled with Michael Fassbender movie posters (for Shame and A Dangerous Method [which I also happened to have watched on my flight over]), so I think he's now creeping into my HP hero image bank.

O, yes! Forgot about Michael Fassbender. Especially after seeing him in Jane Eyre. His physical attributes are very HP.
Daniel Craig - there's something cruel about his look
Jon Hamm - Abby Geen used him as inspiration for one of her characters on Pinterest - Luc
Clive Owen
Russell Crowe

I'm on Pinterest, can you post a link to your boards, Aruana?
I like looking at Abby Green and Caitlin Crews' boards because you can see how they get that HP vibe with those pictures they use as inspiration.

John Hamm and Clive Owen have worked their way in too, but only when the H is English or American .
For female leads, it depends a lot on how they're described but, as a shortlist, for red heads I usually go with rachelle lefevre or blondes can be Clemence Poesy (if she's kind of waifish, or Romola Garai for someone sturdier. Brunettes range from the obligatory Megan Fox to Leighton Meester (something about her face) to Shay Mitchell.
Oh, I think Clive Owen would have been really good for the hero in Susan Napier's Mistress for a Weekend. Or Channing Tatum.

That pic of Clive Owen is divine. There's something about the mishapen nose that does it for me. He looks like a guy who grew up on the wrong side of the tracks and had to claw his way out of the gutter.Raoul Bova is gorgeous! Can definitely see him in a M & B role.
Megan Fox does nothing for me - I'm not able to look past her "history".
I must say that Abby Green's Pinterest boards are brilliant. She used Jon Hamm for her character Luc in her current M & B.
She has this scene as one of her "inspirations". I love this scene from Casino Royale!
Megan Fox only happens when the brunette is supposed to be a sexed-up celebrity or model or some such (until proven otherwise of course ;)). On a normal day I'd go for a more innocent looking girl.
I adore Eva Green, especially her bedroom voice. Methinks Thomas Gibson is pretty hawt. When Superman reboot came out, drool-worthy Brandon Routh made me go see it 4 X, but then his career took a dive. Lulu, Axelle Red is a stunner !
This thread is so bad for my ricocheting hormones.
The new Superman movie is due later this year or beginning next year and it stars :::drum roll::::: Henry Cavill! I loved him in The Tudors as well. Here he is in the Dunhill ad
Yummy!
No doubt he'll have sucked up my bottomless supply of drool @ the end of movie. His Brit accent can make me preggers w/ triplets. For models, Gabriel Aubry is an eye catcher. He could play Jamie in Diana Gabaldon's Outlander saga, w/ Kate Beckinsale as Claire.
For cute young-uns, 4 some reason methinks Andrew Garfield is gorgeous as a geek. He was brilliant as Eduardo Saverin in The social network & the super duper morbid Never let me go. I can't wait to see Spiderman.
Anotha red-headed chick I lurrve is Emma Stone. So heelarious in Easy A.
Baby Nala has the most gifted & beautiful genes evah. Too bad their cougar romance didn't last.Jon Bon Jovi is still my lifelong obsession. Jeremy Irons too.
We have a South African actor by the name of Nico Panagio - yes, he is Greek.
I can easily see him as a H.

Oh man, I loved Daniel Craig in Casino Royale. Normally I don't find Bond sexy, but Craig....oh yes. I loved his interactions/intimacy with Eva Green/Vesper. I am not that into blond, but man, Daniel Craig....swoon!
And I agree with about Eva Green, Verity. She's beautiful but in a unique way. That's refreshing.
Clive Owen is delicious, also because he's not pretty, but gorgeous.

Also, Raoul Bova does have a HP hero look about him. Maybe David Gandy or Verity's man, Guilio Berruti.
Tom Hardy is hotness for sure, even though he does have some crooked teeth. I might have to use him. James D'Arcy too, although he's a bit on the thin side.
What about you?
