Judy F | 4 comments Hi Everyone:
I'm Judy and I love to read, but today the books seem monotonous and boring. Could someone please recommend some good romance books for me? I love Harlequins and Silhouette. I like steamy but clean romance stories. I also enjoy romantic mysteries, and romantic comedies. Thank you very much.

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) Judy, if you like Debbie Maccomber you might like to try out Susan Wiggs. She writes contemporary and historical romance. She's kind of the same ilk as Debbie. I'm a fan of Debbie myself.

Susan Wiggs

My other favorite Harlequin/Silhouette authors are: Charlotte Lamb, Barbara McMahon, Jessica Hart, Liz Fielding, Rebecca Winters, Caroline Anderson, Jessica Steele, Emma Darcy, Lucy Gordon, and Margaret Way. I think they're all pretty clean, but I've read so many I can't quite remember.

Leea If you haven't read Pamela Clare you really should. Her McKinnon Rangers Series is amazing. Surrender (MacKinnon’s Rangers, #1) by Pamela Clare

Another great series is Lisa Kleypas... Secrets of a Summer Night (Wallflowers, #1) by Lisa Kleypas , Wallflowers Series is funny, smart and fresh. She also have a few contemporary novels.

Karen Lavyrle Spencer, She wrote such good romances, so heart warming

Stacia (the 2010 club) (stacia_r) By clean do you mean no sex at all or do you mean it can be there but more of a closed door or low-detail thing?

~Leslie~ (akareadingmachine) I'm confused as to what "steamy but clean" means. But here are some good authors to consider:

Lisa Kleypas
Mary Balogh
Christina Dodd
Susan Mallery
Nora Roberts
Julie Garwood

Jen (at last!) (jenkeith) Maybe she wants steamy, but not explicit details involving the act itself? No words describing genitalia, perhaps? That's about the only conclusion I could come to.

Oh my gosh, I can't believe I forgot Julie Garwood! She's one of my favorites! I think I kept her out bc I wasn't sure if the love scenes in her book fit the requirement of steamy clean. Lol

message 21: by Jean (new)

Jean (otakumom) Cindy Holbrook writes clean regency romances that have an element of intrigue yet lots of fun. Lord Sayer's Ghost and Lady Megan's Masquerade are both clean and fun.

Amanda Quick is another regency romance writer that might be on more on the steamy side. Stephanie Laurens is another one.

Jasja | 42 comments I would recommend Susan Andersen (especially her sisterhood diaries series), Julie James, Kristan Higgins, Lisa Kleypas, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Jill Shalvis.... and if you would want to venture out to a little more explicit (though not all that explicit imho) my absolute favourite author is Kristen Ashley and other authors I love are Toni Blake, Rachel Gibson, Thea Harrison.
