Jennifer W wrote: "Agreed! Have you seen the movie? I'm undecided if I want to, or if it'll just disappoint me."Yes! I went at midnight. It is not disappointing. It is as good a movie adaptation as the Harry Potter movies. I will say there was only 1 or 2 things they left out that truly upset me (while of course there were others I noticed, but I understood why they were omitted). Suzanne Collins was part of the screenplay writing process and I really felt that the movie held up the dignity of the book.

Agreed! I was pissed by one difference. (view spoiler) Otherwise, I was impressed. I thought it was really well done!
I'm definitely going to re-read The Invention of Hugo Cabret. I haven't seen the movie yet, so I will re-read and then see it. Anyone seen it?

Happy reading!"
Haha! This is fate! I've never read The Hunger Games, ever. So it's on my TBR list for the month!
Kellee- How about books made into TV shows? Do they count? I'm reading the Little House series to my daughter right now...
How about books with movies that are coming out later this year or the movies are in the process of filming? I'm specifically thinking of Ender's Game since it's the read of the month. :)
Beauty by Robin McKinleyThis story has been made and remade a few times, but actually the book and the Disney movie are very similar.

Welcome back Cathy!!! :)"
Thank you!! :)
I got a new job as a Branch Supervisor of a public library, so I didn't have much time. But I'm back!
Kellee wrote: "Yay! Glad you are back :) And congrats as your new job- that is awesome!!!"
Thank you!! :)
I read Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson. It's a tad depressing, but being a student in high school, I feel I can relate to Melinda (the main character), and think that this book is amazing c:

I'm sorry- I've never seen the movie and I don't plan on it since I think it is a powerful book that stands on its own. It isn't a cheery book in the least, but I think it is such an important book.
Ahhh! It's been a productive month for me.I read The Voyage of the Dawn Treader by C.S. Lewis and Peter Pan by J.M. Barrie.
Both classics; both surprisingly fun reads.

"
Hmmmm.. I don't know. What do you think Jennifer W?"
I'm leaning towards no as the task calls for a book that has been made into a movie, this appears to be a book based off the movie. It also appears to be info that could be found in the actual Hunger Games books.
The Hunger Games Tribute Guide
